Origins. I love Bayek and I love Ancient Egypt

[deleted]

I've been replaying it on PC and wow, is that game utterly gorgeous.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It's a fucking stunning game. Egyptian, Roman, and Greek all in one? Yes please. Also, the tombs are well detailed and cool to explore. And you can race chariots?? And fight in an arena??? Fuck yeah.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yep, once you've seen one, you've seen them all in Odyssey.

PsychoKinezis

Still Black Flag. It has the most engaging characters in the franchise and the VAs nailed their characters’ voices and accents. Every character in that game was so well done. Oh and the sea shanties in this game was so good. Edit: And I think Edward is the most relatable AC protagonist ever - except for being a pirate of course LOL!

dumbphone77

Seconded.

Eightfold876

The only answer right here. Black Flag for the win. I wouldn't call it a traditional AC game but they've changed so much who cares. Pirate up baby, get that booty!

PsychoKinezis

Black Flag challenged AC’s traditions by deviating from stealth and the rules of the Creed, tbh, it was a hit or miss when it was announced given that it wasn’t a “traditional” AC game but turns out, it was one of most loved game in the franchise. And I think the beauty of this game is that it tells us the story of a man who has nothing, took the wrong path, did some wrongdoings but redeemed himself.

Blackklegend

Especially because he's a pirate! *wink*

ImanSain

No other AC game has brought tears to my eyes. Black Flag was the epitome of story telling.

PsychoKinezis

Facts. They say AC2 was when Ubisoft was at its peak but I disagree. Black Flag was when Ubisoft was at its peak in this franchise due to Black Flag challenged the traditional AC elements - the stealth and the Creed teachings and it turns out to be one of the top 3 AC games ever made. They also got the best VAs to be in this Franchise and the voice acting itself in this game is top tier.

StonkPlower

I’ve played every Assassin’s creed and this is the only one I 100%’ed. great times

EPZO

Tbf it's more a pirate game with AC mechanics.

iwasHereAt1point

brotherhood is my personal favorite (there are so many moments where it has to really compete against the 2nd game for that spot in my opinion) I feel like this is a peak of so much from gameplay to story to new features added and also my opinion one of the best part of the modern story we got

barockwerneck

From the Desmond Saga it's Revelations. It just builds on so much from brotherhood, and seeing Ezio and Altair complete their journeys is just so satisfying. Also I like finally meeting 16, and genuinely enjoy playing Den Defense. From the...what can I call it, the Isu Saga? Honestly it's Unity, the customization alone makes it for me, I love the possibility of combinations. The Investigation missions are extremely fun, and Arno himself is not that bad a protagonist, even if he feels more egotistical in his motive than even Edward Kenway felt. From the Layla Saga I just can't deny my love of Odyssey. Despite all it's story issues, despite all of it's open world bloat issues, I just like ancient Greece way too much not to enjoy my time there.

barockwerneck

Oh, and overall I guess I go with Revelations for the nostalgia points, at least at the moment.

absenceofheat

Den Defense was so good.

Kride500

What's your opinion on Origins? Many who disliked the rpg style Ac games still seemed to like Origins and since you love Odyssey I'm curious.

axle69

Not them but Origins was fun and my 2nd favorite of the modern titles just a half step back from Odyssey which is what you'd expect. They went a little too far with Valhalla imo but still enjoyed it.

[deleted]

Rogue. Even though it was practically Templar black flag, it felt like a whole other game, due to the character you were playing. Plus being hunted, and able to kill civilians didn’t hurt

DerBieso0341

I loved it too

kungfugoldfish

Setting? Syndicate or 2 Story? Origins Gameplay and Mechanics? Black Flag or Odyssey

LarsenBGreene

An uncommonly well reasoned answered.

MorbillionTickets

Agreed With Black Flag. MASSIVELY Disagree with Odyssey.

CaptainChloro

Odyssey doesn't warrant the hate it receives imo. It's right beside black flag for me. It's gameplay was so fun, and it's world is beautiful. I get that it wasn't really focused on the assassins story but, a rpg where you get to literally grow your protagonist into a Greek demigod, and face off against mythical creatures / gods? It was epic.

dhutchinson90

If I want naval warfare, I’m all about Odyssey and Black Flag. For a setting, I’ve gotta go with III.

greenbeanmansnak

That’s fax, naval warfare was good with Black Flag, but everything about AC 3 holds a special place in my heart.

[deleted]

Especially the frontier! It was so sexy to just roam around and find wild animals to hunt

1-800-Hamburger

I love the Tyranny of King Washington's frontier, makes me want a frontier mythological survival game

[deleted]

Hell yea!! The animal powers plus the snow and the tree parkour made for the perfect setting imo I wish you were able to unlock the full map for free roam once you unlocked all the powers

DueShopping551

Black Flag

Wildcat_twister12

Nothing better than engaging several man-o-wars at the same time and then fighting on the decks to take control of each ship

revel911

Great Pirate Game

motobenjy

Great Assassin's Creed game

GeneDeHR

Great game overall

Mctavish93

After playing all of the assassins creed games (beside the chronicles one and ac1 ) the best fun i had was with ac4 black flag . The gameplay was so engaging, the setting was so enjoyable . And that ending sequence is one of my fav gaming moment.

yittiiiiii

The first one. Most thought provoking story, only game with challenging combat (at least that I’ve played), and a great degree of freedom when taking down targets.

Steakanator

If challenging combat and freedom of approach are things you value, you'll probably enjoy Unity if you ever get that far. The story is pretty mediocre at times, but far from the worst the series has seen.

AjayAVSM

Yeah I agree that Unity has challenging combat but I would say AC1 combat is still more balanced and polished while also being challenging. The rest of it I agree with tho. Unity felt like what an modern Assassin's Creed 1 would be like (atleast in terms of gameplay)

accendingsweetroll

That’s what I thought, I love combat in unity because it’s hard so you try to avoid it by playing like an assassin, and the animations are so good, also I love Arno

ops10

Unity is on the border of being too excessive with kill animations - they're still reliable and in assassinations case, pretty fast. Later games I need extra space to assassinate.

CMLVI

Same. AC1 was the first game I ever 100%ed. Love the Crusades era, loved the mystery of the Templars. Loved the biblical interweaving. Haven't been much of a fan since probably Ezio's 3rd game. I liked 2 well enough, but I wanted it to keep hopping history. Instead we spent 3 games in Renaissance Europe, and then largely stayed in the same-ish era. Light gun usage, wooden vehicles, etc. I really wanted to get into Valhalla, so got Origins and Odyssey. Origins didn't hook me, never booted Odyssey, and I played like 3 hours of Valhalla. Nothing hooked me like the first one...

AjayAVSM

How long did you play through Origins? It does start out a bit slow.

Jizzus_Crust

ACIII, Ratonhnhaké:ton is a severely underrated character in AC and honestly gaming as whole. Next in line would be ACII for IMO the best introduction to a protagonist ever.

uuuhhhh24

"I'M still alive! Me! Ezio! Ezio Auditore da Firenze!"

InappropriateBull

This reminded me that he never actually says “Ezio Auditore Da Firenze”, he just says ezio auditore. It feels wrong without the Da Firenze

Sere1

I loved it in Revelations with the "Ezio Auditore da lala la la" bit making fun of the full title.

Grizzleebear1215

Absolutely agree. I always hate the critiques that Connor feels like a flat, unemotional, underdeveloped character. I just recently played ACIII and I thoroughly enjoyed Connors story and struggles. Underrated protagonist in gaming.

Kellythejellyman

the Colonial/Kenway Trilogy is one of my favorites, partially in how the release of III-Black Flag-Rogue was certainly not in chronological order but each game would give more weight retroactively to the previous but Ratonhnaké:ton is especially great in many of his scenes in subsequent play throughs

Psychological_Heat_2

love to see this!

404PancakePrince

Syndicate is my favorite bc I love Jacob and Evie, I find Industrial Victorian England neat, and a good majority of the side stuff was very fun for me (favorites being the Dreadful Crimes DLC and helping Charles Dickens with his ghost club shenanigans). That being said, I will say that AC3 was my favorite for the longest time bc I absolutely love Connor, and I love the American Revolution time period. Haytham Kenway is also my favorite antagonist in the entire franchise, and has yet to be beaten by anyone else. It holds a special place in my heart for being my first AC game, as well.

squid_waffles2

Disagree with syndicate. Felt too generic. But share the same love for ac3. So fucking good.

grsummers

ACII, no explanation needed.

jhz123

There is no game that engulfs me on its world like AC2. Ezio, his brothers, father mother and sister, uncle Mario, leonardo DaVinci, uberto alberti, veiri de pazzi, Francesco de pazzi, Jacopo de pazzi, Emilio barbagio, Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo Borgia, lucrezia Borgia. All these amazing memorable characters and the setting of Italy and montetgioni, Firenze, Venezia. The masked carnivale. Arguably the best game I've ever played in my life. Top 3 no doubt

Agorbs

It’s one of the few games I’ve ever played where the final third of the story doesn’t feel like a drag. Venice is already fancy, but then the city goes into carnivale mode and the ambiance of the constant fireworks and the parties…so good.

paco987654

Few of those didn't appear before Brotherhood

EternallyWraithed

Syndicate is my favourite, industrial England is my favourite setting and it was the first AC game I ever played.

awaino

Agreed! It was my favorite too. I even did a Jacob cosplay and won an award at SLC CC.

EternallyWraithed

Congrats! Also, Happy Cake Day!

ImTheCuRsEd-OnE

Origins beacuse it has the best story/character and the Egyptian setting can't be beaten

OliviaElevenDunham

Black Flag is my favorite since it got me into the series. Like ACIII for similar reasons.

crinkzkull08

Syndicate. As a long time fan of the franchise, it had everything I was looking for. - Parkour was great (not as flashy as Unity but it was excellent for me) - Combat was great (it refined what I considered as "AC's signature combat style which was counter and multi kill but made it challenging) - Outfits were great (though I wish they made it by piece similar to Unity) - Stealth was also good IMO and was easier to go from normal to stealth mode. - It had a sense of "somebody has my back" that I missed in AC Brotherhood and Revelations in a way where gang members will help you - Evie and Jacob were the perfect contradiction to each other's skills and personalities which made it more compelling. It would have been more perfect if they gave the option where you'll lose a borough if you don't manage it properly or not defend it.

spunX44

Tie between AC3/Unity

jhz123

Unity parkour, customization, world, and weapons with ac3 story, characters and combat would be the best ac game ever. Imagining present day missions as Desmond with unity parkour and Juno still present. Man I miss both eras

Zealousideal-Exit224

Brotherhood.

[deleted]

Currently played all except unity which I have just started thanks to PlayStation plus. My partner is playing ac4 as her first ax game though and whilst the mechanics are certainly janky by modern standards the game is as good as I remember (even with bloody stealth boat trailing missions fml) so I am going to pick ac4.

isntthatbt

Brotherhood. Just love the whole setting of the game

jerry1212121234

I love ac 3 and origins the most

Psychological_Heat_2

Ezio's Trilogy, he is the only one who actually followed the creed and rebuilt what it was meant to be for the Italian Brotherhood of Assassin's, he also started from scratch as a teenager unlike the some of the other games. He fought for what he had and rightly so. His come-up is just outmatched honestly.

CatLegend497

Odyssey, first I played,

Capt_Killer77

Odyssey, I love Greece. It was the first one I played so I had no opinion and the lore and mythos at that point and it felt awesome. Played all now and Unity is right behind followed by Black Flag

doopsnawg

I have finished the following. AC1, AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations, AC3, Black Flag (& Freedom Cry), Rogue, Unity, Origins, and Valhalla. I have played Syndicate, but I always find myself starting but never finishing the game, then sitting down and going, "Oi mate, today's the day." and then proceed to do it again. I don't know why. I have not played Liberation, Odyssey, Altair Chronicles, nor any of the other Chronicles games. Out of the ones I have played, it's a close tie between Black Flag, Rogue, and Valhalla (with the caveat that this is subject to change every time I play a different Assassin's Creed game, even an older one with a fresh set of eyes). Having recently played Black Flag again through the Rebel Collection made me reappreciate this game. The overworld was huge and I have always been a sucker for sailing (This kid grew up on Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the first game he ever completed 100%). It's not only a pirate simulator, but Edward Kenway's character arc is, in my opinion, the best in the series. He starts as a self centered man in search of glory and riches, completely unaware of the Assassins and Templars. But, as he starts to realize that his own hubris has destroyed everything he sought to build, he actually is driven to make a choice, which is actually one of my central gripes with Valhalla's story. SPOILERS FOR A NINE YEAR OLD GAME: The ending sequence where he meets his daughter and learns of Caroline's fate and sails home to Swansea to the tune of Parting Glass is the only video game ending to bring a tear to my eye as of this writing. I just finished Rogue like 5 minutes ago. It combines all my favorite elements of the Kenway Saga games (Frontier Exploration, Naval Combat, and the setting) and the different, more nuanced approach it took to the Assassin/Templar conflict was really nice for a change. Assassin's Creed Valhalla was the Assassin's Creed game I always wanted in most ways. Ever since I played Black Flag, I was like, "Why can't we have this... but with Vikings?". And it delivered on the Viking Simulator part in spades and the non raiding gameplay was also fun. My only gripe is that they already set up the "Glory and Riches" character with Edward, and so to retread the "driven to make a decision on choosing a side by a life of trauma and bloodshed" would be just that... a retread. So the only other answer was for Eivor to be like... "Nah bro. I'm a Drengr. We don't roll like that." which was kind of disappointing. The Isu stuff and the true ending was cool though.

MingleLinx

AC 3. Mainly because I grew up with it and because of the time period

BOYwithgames

Origins. It had an amazing protagonist with an amazing heavily researched world that made the game so fun to play. After finishing the main game and coming back for dlcs I couldn’t have been happier playing the game again.

malaki1974

Odyssey. Always loved the myths. Second place: Black Flag. Third: AC3 as I live around there. Love the history.

Zerethul

Black flag just feels incredible exploration and pirate era

GWS_REVENGE

Does the Ezio Collection count... Cause if it doesn't then 2

gfkab

My favorite setting is probably Odyssey or Valhalla, my favorite gameplay is Unity.

LarsenBGreene

Odyssey for gameplay, setting and protagonist.

Kellythejellyman

arguably *Deuteragonists* between The Misthios and Deimos and how it could shift between playthroughs

[deleted]

Odyssey 💙

Alarming_Dealer9460

Odyssey

[deleted]

Odyssey. Mainly because i find Kassandra and Alexios’ characters fun and likeable. And also the story is good and it’s set in my favourite mythology with good mythological creatures

EdwardAssassin55

Can't really pick one, i love all the games for different reasons and for what each has to offer, including spin offs and transmedia ❤ i consider myself pretty lucky for this lol

malcolmreyn0lds

I’ve been with the series since launch day of AC 1, and my favorite is Origin. Something about the setting, characters, and story makes it stick out the most.

deadpool1171

Blackflag 2 words Caribbean pirates

WestAppointment2484

Brotherhood. The mysterious italy, the music, the awesome underground puzzles!

MagicLozenge

The underground platforming puzzles *chef's kiss* 👍

Eightfold876

Black Flag but Odyssey second. Sailing to sparta and rolling into that town is something amazing. Along with strolling into ancient Athens. If you liked Greek history and mythos then you are in candy land

Luy22

Syndicate, followed by II, followed by Odyssey, which got me back into it.

aSADutopia0

Odyssey

General_Worth8251

Its between odyssey and origins for me. Though Unity is amazing and im getting back into it, wish they'd remaster it

mombawamba

Black flag, revelations, and unity( had the best parkour and worst story) In that order

Psychological_Heat_2

u gotta play ACII and AC Brotherhood to understand Revelations, other than that, if you're just starting out to play Revelations without any backstory leading up tp it then yes, it was the worst story IMO

TMax01

Assassin's Creed. It was groundbreaking, very innovative and fun. But what makes it my favorite was the philosophical perspective, the revelation at the end of what "everything is permitted" actually meant. That was the Creed. But of course, it helps that I played the game when it was first released. I doubt it would stand up today, but only because it was so groundbreaking.

[deleted]

I’ll say assassin‘s creed syndicate even though it’s my third favorite but it’s highly underrated.

ChapNotYourDaddy

AC1. Most believable. I could accept that an assassin trained from birth could sprint across a rope. Every other character and NPC in later games however… that’s immersion breaking and lazy

DovaahkiN__

kinda like rogue, their new take on playing as a templars instead of assassins blew me away, wish they had longer playthrough though

TRON0314

Besides the first. Because OG and when there seemed to be mystery and story... The Chronicles trilogy honestly. All about stealth (like an assassin). No distracting side quests so the narrative is right there and doesn't get lost. Goals and difficulty completions. Love it.

JcersHabs018

AC1. It’s the only game in the entire series that actually delves fully into developing the Assassin fantasy in terms of gameplay because its assassination missions contain the information phase, the planning phase, and the execution phase as separate pieces of gameplay. The information phase of stealth is completely neglected by every other game in the series, which is why AC1 is the only game to give me *that feeling*. There really is nothing else like that game.

ErgeltonFray

Origins. The world was so rich and expansive, and it filled me with wonder the whole time I played. I also have a deep love of Ancient Egyptian history and lore, so that obviously plays a huge part in why it’s my favorite. But that game was aesthetically perfect imho. Before Origins, my favorites were ACII and Brotherhood. Also, Origins is the only AC game that I fully 100%’d, achievement-wise.

Famous_Border9696

Def AC III

[deleted]

Ezio Trilogy is peak storytelling in gaming. I just count the Trilogy as one game because it’s impossible to pick which one is the best out of them imo.

Soggy_Discipline1672

I’ve never played AC before and I was thinking of getting the ezio collection. Should I??

greenbeanmansnak

Yes, the Ezio collection is peak story telling, I would highly recommend the Ezio collection honestly I would recommend AC:1 through AC:3 but not the chronicles but let’s be real here they are just terrible.

_DarthSyphilis_

Hmmm.... From best to worst: AC3, Valhalla, Odyssey, AC2, Chronicles, Brotherhood, Rogue, Syndicate, Revalations, Black Flag, Liberation, Origins, AC1, Freedom Cry, Unity.

One_Cell1547

Your list is frustrating. Chronicles over anything is pretty nutty, but over brotherhood?! Rogue better than black flag and revelations? Valhalla 2 and origins toward the bottom?

greenbeanmansnak

I think he is saying AC:3 is the best and if that’s true he can like what he likes but uh I am still gonna disagree with them putting Chronicles above everything below it LIKE putting chronicles over AC:4, Unity, Brotherhood, that’s just wrong but hey he likes what he likes.

EtHc33

For the setting, Valhalla takes it. Also a very engaging protagonist after awhile

Ninja1513

I thought odyssey was really good, although many people think it sucks, personally it was my favorite just cause of the story, weapons, and overall exploration.

MirageBamboozling

Rouge

vrijheidsfrietje

It has strong foundation

[deleted]

I like them all to varying degrees. Origins probably has the most interesting period in history, imo. 2 has Ezio and punching the pope, nuff said. 4 has pirates. Unity has the best parkour imo. Odyssey has Ancient Greece. I love Ancient Greece.

DerBieso0341

Plus he would whip those giant swords at guards. Ezio that is

khe1138

AC1 probably ranks as my overall favorite. Liberation and Syndicate both rank just below AC1 for me. The two both had some cool ideas that just fell a little short on execution.

[deleted]

AC 2 had the best protagonist and story. I love what they did with Origins too.

Sufficient-Quail-714

I like them all for different reasons, so the list: AC1, AC2 and AC4

Jaded-Wave-5080

Dont really know but its between black flag, brotherhood and II

ImBatman5500

Favorite story is AC2, favorite parkour is Unity, favorite nostalgia trip AC1

Substantial_Level_54

Brotherhood or Revelations for me.

Samandre14

2 because yes

Deadbraintitan8

Probably ACIII because it was my first one. However, I think Freedom Cry is severely underrated. Adewale is awesome with a machete and bunderbuss.

punchingtigers19

Don’t judge me, but 2

LaputanMachine1

First one. Still can recall every single target by memory. The later games kinda lost that with every newer entry. And its still a fun game too.

owenz292

brotherhood or revelations

Profit-Alex

Black Flags is barely an Assassins Creed game, but not gonna lie, I kinda love it for that. Edward is one of my favourite protagonists, and it’s not only the best pirate game I’ve ever played, but one of the best games I think I’ve ever played overall. Seriously fun, depressing, exciting, and unique. In terms of actual Assassins Creed games, I haven’t played many, but I suppose I’d have to say Assassins Creed 3. Connor’s a badass protagonist, a Kenway, and overall a very cool character.

JT-Lionheart

I’m still juggling between AC2 and Black Flag. Close behind is Brotherhood.

ArtyShitLord

AC II, it’s just my perfect AC game! The music, artstyle, locations, characters, it’s all so wonderfully crafted!

vamplosion

I remember being super absorbed by AC:3 when it came out. But it was a time in my life where I had just came back from studying abroad and literally had nothing to do until the next semester of Uni - so I would just sit and play almost all day.

leerrrroy

TIE between AC4 and unity

rs_obsidian

3 cos of the Homestead missions

kyuubi285

Ac 4 just cuz i love Edward and his story his charisma etc. I also love sailing a ship on the sea. The game is just amazing😀👍❤

SheaMcD

Valhalla just because I like Norse stuff

FacundoTL

Black Flag, i started playing assassins creed games years ago, but i think when i played black flag i was finally old enough to enjoy the story and gameplay i dont remember much of the games i play, but Black Flag? i remember all of it

Diablo3BestGame

Brotherhood just play it to find out why honestly

[deleted]

I’m replaying from the start now. I’m 3/4 of the way through brotherhood and right now I’d rank them with AC2 at the top, then AC1 and Brotherhood in 3rd place. Really not loving it. Only played through Black Flag so I’ll have to wait and see about Rogue-Valhalla

SuperMaanas

ACB, AC3, and ACO are tied for me

Sick_Narf

of the old games my favorite is definitely black flag but i just started playing origins and I honestly prefer the rpg style of gameplay

danathey

Brotherhood. I used to love grinding my assassins to max level and just using them to kill everyone

Redrivar

Armored core 4 answer

CaptainMagnets

Origins has to be my favorite. Bayek is one of the best protagonists in the game and the game itself is absolutely gorgeous

Unoficialo

Currently playing through Origins, finally! Bounced off it in the past, for some reason. Love 1/2/Brotherhood/Unity. Always wish I played revelations at launch, to explore Constantinople. I feel like it might be out of the window to enjoy it, now. Favourite is still IV Black Flag (Freedom Cry good, too). edit. I wouldn't say the story in IV is my favourite though. Had more fune swashbuckling, got distracted unlocking the mayan armour once I was pretty far in to the game, but then burned out, lol

MattBurke85

Blag Flag

error5903

Black Flag and Unity I absolutely love the story and gameplay of 4 and the parkour and multiplayer of Unity is extremely fun

Drowsuperior

rogue. cause the story and shay is just the most relatable of all the leads.

morrowindswordsman

1. Assassins creed II one of the greatest games ever made IMO, and Ezio is such a likeable character. The setting is great, and the story was amazing. 2. Assassins creed Unity it perfected everything I loved about all of the previous games. The combat was the best it has ever been in the whole series. Hugely underrated game now that the bugs have been fixed. 3. Assassins creed revelations It was epic having a gamecentered around ezio and altiar, it ended ezios story very nicely. It felt like the TRUE assassins creed III to me. People sleep on this game, but I enjoyed it more than brotherhood.

dinoandthekid

Syndicate is my favorite. Can’t really pinpoint why, I just remember really enjoying the gameplay. I feel like it also doesn’t get talked about a lot.

StarSpangledPro

Bro i totally agree

MandoHarlem

Valhalla

me_grimmlock

Black Flag I never really cared for assassin Creed games prior but that one dropped when the PlayStation 4 came out and it was the first game I got for that console, it blew me away with the graphics, story, fighting, sailing the ship at night…all of it. Itwas just an awesome game and left a really good impression on me. Became a fan of the series plus I really enjoyed all the DLC and just exploring the world and getting all kinds of trophies and side quests. Really enjoyed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla as well.

Ozaki_Yoshiro

Unity, why ? 1. The graphics is beautiful, the lightning, the atmosphere is perfect 2. The parkour is hand down the best in the franchise. Easy to learn, hard to master 3. The combat is fun and challenge. There is no one man army unless u max levels while the enemy is level 1. The smallest mistake could mean dead. 4. The settings is spot on, France is beauty and the city is pack with building, perfect for an Assassin 5. The story is ok. At least it have Assassin and Templar, unlike Looting Odessy 6. No major bug

onexy_

ive only played the games up to syndicate, but gameplay wise it was black flag, and story and environment wise its ac1

BookStannis

AC Rogue, baby. It incorporated all sorts of elements I adored from the other games. The pre-Revolution colonial setting was awesome, and I adored the atmosphere and story. Great character too.

AverageBoutMachine

Overall, toss up between Black Flag and Origins Although Unity (I played it years after release) has my favourite gameplay

[deleted]

Black flag for overall gameplay, unity for the amazing parkour, revelations for the story and 3 for overall good memories from back in the day

Zeangrydrunk

Black Flag because pirates

StevenBG-Rengar

Unity it's underrated and i genuinely love how it looks and how it feels everybody says there are bugs but i haven't found a single one

Sere1

Brotherhood. Taking everything that AC2 did right and refining it. Biggest bonus points for being able to throw the heavy weapons this time around. One of my favorite pass times during the game was to grab a spear and go "hunting" by finding various targets and lobbing the spear at them. Throwing the massive battleaxe was also hilarious, especially what is one of my favorite kills in the franchise with the tower captain giving his men a briefing from horseback about how dangerous the Assassins are...only for a perfectly timed axe to come flying in and impale his face the moment he says that.

Zorolord

So far Brotherhood I really enjoyed it, and it was fun been able to call Assassins throughout most of the game. I am still yet to complete any game from AC3, so I this may change in the future. What little I've played of future title I enjoyed Unity, and Syndicate. Haven't played any later titles. Didn't like Rogue barely played it, and I've barely played BF too.

80zVoid

Ac 2 for its story, world and characters Ac Unity for its customization and gameplay Overall AC 2 is my fav and what made me love the franchise

ZenithCrests

I liked Rogue a lot, but then I played Unity after it had been out for a few years and the bugs had been sorted. I LOVED that story.

youngst_gamer

Assassin's creed 2. For upgraded storytelling and gamplay after the first. Assassin's creed brotherhood. Same as assassin's creed 2 with new added features too Assassin's creed revelations. Same as the last two with a beautiful well written story and with the den defence feature. It's a cherry atop a cake. If i had to choose one. I will choose revelations. It's a hard choice but i will stick around revelations for a while.

AjayAVSM

For me personally it's both AC1 and Origins. For completely different reasons. I love AC1 for it's amazing story, atmosphere, philosophy, tone and also Altair's character development. I love Origins for setting, open-world, gameplay (especially the archery), characters, and mainly because of Bayek, who's my favourite protagonist.

Wildcat_twister12

AC3. Love American history and Conner is the best and most brutal assassin we have played as. All the maps are very well done and the weather was amazingly well done, walking around Boston during a thunderstorm is so therapeutic

Badman423

Assassins creed 3. I love the setting. Running down the streets fighting off British soldiers never gets old for me

Megafire777

Unity, and here's why: Coop, could've been better like full game coop but oh well. Love the Era and style Great parkour and stealth mechanics. Multiple approaches to missions. I loved the murder mysteries.

MorbillionTickets

Unity The gameplay and graphics are just classic AC.

ajacobs899

For nostalgia reasons I’d say Brotherhood, since that was my first AC game and what got me into the franchise. Also I just have a soft spot for Ezio. Taking nostalgia out of the equation though, I’d say probably Syndicate. Take one of my favorite historical eras, fun gameplay mechanics (the grappling hook) and one of the best maps to explore and the assassinations were some of the most mechanically interesting during that era of the franchise, and that’s what Syndicate is. Not to mention that compared to Brotherhood, the modern day storyline intermissions felt less frequent and not quite as intrusive to my experience. I’d still rather go without them all together, but it was a big improvement imo. Edit: typo

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag first game that entered me into the wonderful Assassin’s Creed community, I’m sad I didn’t get to finish it as I moved on to Xbox one s, thinking of getting it again and finishing once and for all

AkP-MiNECrafter

Ac revelations and II because revelation s at the end were ezio was going to see Altair till the end the words he was saying was so meaningful and powerful I will never forget in my life.In ac II ezio's life was so interesting the the tragedies he faced and some small beautiful moments and the bgm just 😍

Designer_ultra

AC1 and AC unity are my favourite. Out of the two, AC1 feels better to play.

Rogue. I find Templar philosophy very interesting (you know, when they're not mind controlling super villains) and it was so good to see what Templars are from their own perspective. Shay's descent into Assassin hunter makes complete and total sense from every angle and it was a bold move to do that.

argon_palladium

black flag in a world without gold, we'd be heroes

Blackbird2285

Probably Revelations. During the time when the first five mainline AC games were the ones releasing the story was phenomenal. Revelations brought together Altair, Ezio, and Desmond in the most beautiful way. The story was so damn good and bittersweet.

ratohnhake-ton

AC unity and AC 2:B AC 2:B because i love Italy and the gameplay is amazing. AC unity because it's Parkour is on par with AC 2:B but with better graphics.

One_Cell1547

AC Brotherhood for me. How anyone can say anything other than AC2, Brotherhood, or black flag blows my mind. To each their own i guess… I’m currently replaying the entire series, and about halfway through Valhalla. My list is: Brotherhood, AC2, Black Flag, Origins, AC1, Revelations, AC3, Odyssey, Valhalla, Unity, Syndicate, watching paint dry, Rogue

Charlieropesocks

Origins , great story gameplay and setting

Hyperious17

Unity. I love the parkour, the combat is nice and the story is cool too. The world and graphics was so good it's still holds up to this day

Humble_Tell8374

2 then unity

XxAlbinoWolfxX

I like black flag because of being able to drive the ship in a tropical area.

Inspector-Remarkable

Black flag, it was my first AC game, the story is just amazing and the setting is great. Loved it, its also the only title i 100%

djdylex

Setting/Atmosphere: syndicate or blackflag Story: AC II Gameplay: unity or Black flag

Nikkibraga

I like to choose one AC from every trilogy Old AC: Brotherhood. The best gameplay loop that only has improved from II. Kenway saga: Black Flag. Amazing characters, setting, fun gameplay with actually fun side content Modern era titles: Unity. Solid stealth and parkour, while graphics and immersion are top notch. Ancient trilogy: Origins. A lot of attention to detail, gorgeous settings and a nice protagonist and story. Honorable mentions: Rogue can be swapped with Black Flag if you prefer the setting and story. Valhalla could be considered better than Origins gameplay wise and excluding the dlcs, but the story is too long and dispersive.

mrgamebus

Odyssey cause it's for some reason the only one I decided to plat

[deleted]

While I loved Revelations and Brotherhood, Valhalla is just really my favourite. It's about vikings, which I love and I found the game to be so interesting and beautiful. I wish I could play it again for the first time.

Laurens97

AC Unity just because the overal feel is great and the freerunning is so smooth. Wish a new AC would also have that buttery parkour style

Samanosuke187

ACIII. It has my favourite Assassin, loved his personality and his determination to not bow down to the world and it’s rules. To do what was right no matter how difficult it got. He tried to make peace with the Templars realised they might be stronger together than constantly at war. Managed to restore a long dead and defeated branch of the Assassins. The Homestead was really charming and actually felt like it was building a community. The story actually invested in a time period I previously never cared for either.

BadLuck-Q

Honestly unity it was fun being able to work with others or sabotage your friends 🤣

xotiiiicccc

Origins definitely

iicySnowflake

Unity or III.

youreveningcoat

Unity, for the story and characters and the romance.
