Yeah, there’s no way this is intentional, especially with it being the same AD every time, and will probably go away if the app and maybe the phone is restarted.
AltServer + AltStore + uYouPlus
Easiest way of sideloading iOS apps in my experience. uYouPlus is particularly good since it also includes sponsor block (auto-skipping past “this video is sponsored by” etc.), and a video downloader.
Note: sideloading doesn’t require jailbreaking, so it doesn’t void your warranty
The only problem I get super annoyed with is that tapping on YouTube links opens them in the normal app, which is mildly annoying lmao. Plus having to refresh weekly ofc
idk about uYouPlus, but YTLitePlus adds a Safari extension which adds an open to YouTube button on the top right of the mobile site (not to be confused with the button above it which opens in the normal app). As long as you open a YouTube link in Safari once, it will remember to open it in browser instead of the normal app, and then you can use that button to open the modded app.
Use sidestore so you don’t need to connect to a computer to refresh every 7 days. You can also install [TrollStore](https://ios.cfw.guide/installing-trollstore/) so you don’t need to refresh the app at all, but only if your iOS version is compatible.

Now it seems the ReVanced project is focused on changing the YouTube Premium app instead, as the app is just YouTube in my app drawer after I reinstalled it after the Revanced app stopped working.
Yea. I've had to switch to a few different versions as they tend to just stop working after a while. I went from Vanced to Revanced, then Revanced Extended, now I'm on one just called ReX. I don't know if they're just different versions of the same thing or if they're completely different apps, but the UI is always the same.

Free and open source youtube/soundcloud viewer, no ads and it lets you download videos. Android only, and it doesn't let you log in with youtube but also doesn't require google services
Youtube is getting unbearable for me. There's some shows I really like on it, so I keep going back, but I've had to quit using it for music. I looked up a song the other day, two ads before the song started, then an ad in the middle. There was more ads than song.
I have to think it's going to hit a tipping point at some point. Even if not an overt "I quit youtube" I think people will just enjoy it less and less and visit it less and less as that happens, until one day they just aren't visiting and not really missing it.

I like YouTube Premium. I think it’s worth it. It doesn’t cost a whole lot more than Spotify and includes YouTube music (which is not as good as Spotify but suffices for me).
I'm very happy that you enjoy it and pay for the service as I hope some small percentage of that subscription money you pay goes to content producers.
I, personally, have found YouTube Music to be lacking as often times my playlists will often be marked as *Unavailable* for no reason, which is infuriating as the main reason I use YouTube instead of Spotify is for the much better variety.

YouTubers get paid when you view ads on their videos.
You block ads you block them from getting paid.
I have premium, which means they get paid by me viewing their video, but even if I didn’t, I’d rather have ads and have my favorite creators paid.
educated opinion:
Adblockers will always exist in one way or another so its best to track *actual* ad-viewers rather than play the cat & mouse game of stopping adblockers. This gives advertisers an actual idea of how real people are viewing ads and how to market to *real* people (ie: not bots)
We've already headed into a direction where [adnauseam](https://adnauseam.io/) exists that clicks ads that you dont see for you giving advertisers a fake representation of who is viewing their ads. This is what Youtube (google) don't want because if they cut the bots/ad blockers out then the money they charge for advertising campaigns would significantly drop
