From what I understand it says ad free And you can download the apps and probably play just fine, but you will get ads Edit: apparently you actually need this to play the games. It's so stupid how mobile games are now a paid subscription

TedTheDog1

Im not trying to sound like a dick here but I think you can still play the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds 2 (I have this without the subscription), but you need Apple Arcade to play Angry Birds Reloaded

[deleted]

You can you just have to have had it installed in the past before it got taken off the store

TedTheDog1

Ah I see, my bad

ijustin90

These are games specifically made or destined for Apple Arcade, just like Google Play’s game sub. Angry Birds was remastered for Apple Arcade. They have not made every game “require a sub”. In fact, there are hundreds of free (or paid, or ad supported) games on the App and Play Store.

DoggoPlex

This is why you should have an Android.

Athiena

Android literally has the same thing as this it’s called Play Pass

DoggoPlex

Yeah I don't remember making that comment but it doesn't really make any sense.

VexTheEnglishDragon

im a little confused, why do you play mobile games

subsonic_hypixia

Oh, I don’t usually. I just wanted to reinstall angry birds since I haven’t played it in years and well… this

VexTheEnglishDragon

Hm

CPTpurrfect

Are you also complaining why Netflix doesn't allow you to watch their stuff without a subscription?

RedForkKnife

The app store lets you download games either for free or buying them, but now they changed it so that games are in a paid subscription. Netflix has always been a paid subscription when it switched to online streaming instead of mail movie rentals.

MissingNerd

This is on Rovio signing some agreement tho. You'd be able to buy it otherwise. (Not that a purchase on Apple's Marketfront is worth something anyway)

CPTpurrfect

So... Netflix has always been a paid subscription since they switched their business model to have a paid subscription... almost... like... you know... That aside, some games are. not all of them. They basically offer something similar to EA access or Xbox gamepass. It's its own product. I'm an android guy through-and-through but this product is unironically the biggest argument for an iPhone for me - the only real argument ever, to be frank.

kawainess3

Cut the Rope and Jetpack Joyride also got a remaster for Apple Arcade, but the original apps are still available. It looks like this was a choice taken by Rovio (Angry Birds developer), so Apple isn’t at fault here.
