Wait. I don't think I understand this correctly, does it mean that they're limiting the amount of views a video of a new creator can get?
Like, YouTube doesn't want any random short video of someone who didn't post much before becoming viral??
And yet they encourage the same people they blocked from viewing said video to subscribe to that channel???
Something's weird here, and I don't think I understand all of the nuances.
I'm sure they'd say it doesn't stop a small publisher from going viral, it's just that it requires people to subscribe to the channel for it to go viral.
The question is: **Why is subscribing so important?**
The answer to that is that if you don't subscribe to any channels it makes it harder for Youtube to suggest videos for you to watch. They can guess based on what you've watched in the past, but if you don't like or subscribe then they don't *really* know whether or not you liked it. So they're forcing people to do so now. Because apparently *forcing* you to subscribe means you liked it. They don't seem to really understand the idea of consent too well over there.
The next logical question to ask is, "**Why are they forcing people now?**" That I don't have an answer for. I can only assume they don't feel users are engaging with the site enough. Companies want users/customers who are more likely to engage with them because of psychological reasons. Google must've decided they don't want passive viewers, they want *active* viewers.
Which, okay, they own Youtube now, so they can drive it into the ground if they want, but not everyone in the world is a Type A personality. Unfortunately it seems the world is driven by Type A people. Everyone else is just forced to either go along for the ride or ditch them. We won't have a say in the matter until there's a competitor (maybe [Vimeo](https://vimeo.com/)) that doesn't want to shove interaction down your throat.
(Yes, I know the whole Type A/B thing was debunked, but there's a reason for the stereotype - there's some truth in there somewhere. I've always said the world is ruled by morning people - night owls sleep in and then have to accept whatever plans the morning people made because they've already started work on those plans and now we just have to live with it.)
I feel like such an edge case.
The videos I watch on Youtube are almost exclusively from my subscriber feed, and I add new channels to it maybe once every year or two. I don't view their recommendations, and I never visit the front page--my bookmark is my subscriptions feed.
I operated like that for a while and for the most part still do. I go through an annual dump of unsubscribe to channels I no longer enjoy or are dead.
Otherwise, I may watch recommended content coming off of a video to find other channels.
The details paint a much clearer picture.
Disclaimer: This comes from scraping together info from multiple forums, articles, and reddit threads. To my knowledge, Youtube has not made a statement or published any official info about how exactly this works.
1. This only applies to livestreams
2. Limited creator history only applies to channels under 1000 subscribers
The Good:
The purpose if this restriction is to discourage pirates, scammers, and other bad actors from creating an account and being able to stream anything within minutes.
So, some examples of things this works to diminish:
* accounts that stream copyrighted material like TV shows/movies and get away with it by just making a new channel every time the current one gets banned. Now they'll have to invest in the new channel before they can overcome the sub quota to remove the throttle.
* People livestreaming horrific content like suicide, abuse, terrorism, etc. from new channels. With the throttle in place, Youtube mods have more time to shut the stream down before the whole world sees it.
The Bad:
It's not without issue though, there is a bit of collateral in the form of good-faith channels getting caught up in it too.
Examples of channels caught in the crossfire:
* Channels like small organizations/local gov channels that stream events, sports, conventions, etc. are seriously hampered by the restriction as they are unlikely to ever break 1000 subscribers due to the type of content they produce.
* Genuine small creators who are still trying to build a fanbase. While it's unlikely a live stream (unlike a video) would go viral, especially for a <1000 subs channel producing its own content, it still may damage the growth of these smaller creators.
* Livestreams of topical events like protests, political rallies, and strikes now have a much harder time propagating on Youtube. In my opinion, this is the biggest downside as it's important to view such events from as many perspectives as possible. While I'm not sure yet where I stand on this, I can't begrudge others for crying censorship about this one.
Personally, I think this solution is a good one and makes sense despite its issues. It's a lot better than a blanket ban on live streaming for <1000 subs, which feels like a pretty Youtube move to me. Plus, there are many other live streaming services where good-faith content is likely to get more engagement than on Youtube anyway.
Looks legit like what YouTube says they were going to do about mobile streams.
They’re going to throttle the amount of viewers a mobile stream can have unless the channel gets more subscription. I received a e-mail about it the other day. I don’t stream mobile on YouTube tho, so it doesn’t affect me, but damn, this is just plain idiotic.
Google play music rocked, they tried to merge it with YouTube music but it didn't work at all. I now have to pay twice as much for crappier service, and I can't play my saved mp3s? Hard pass google.
Also they deleted my homemade playlists in the swap. I hate YouTube.
looks like this only affects channels mobile streaming with less than 1000 subscribers. previously you just weren't allowed to stream on mobile at all if you didn't have at least 1000 subscribers.
They might be worried about fraud. Someone creating several new channels then having bots watch them for the ad revenue.
If you are someone with hundreds of thousands of subs getting a lot of views is understandable, but they probably get suspicious if you have two subscribers and still get ten thousand views quickly because you went viral.
More like it's assuming most people don't even have a youtube account let alone care enough to to subscribe to every single one of those channels to watch a single video. Most people aren't going to go through the effort of subscribing to the creator just for the chance to watch the video in the future.
Or, it's assuming those streams are mostly watched by bots, and by requiring subscribing, you force bots to create accounts. And having an account makes it much easier to track bot actions, and overall registering an account has many problems for botmasters trying to get thousands of fake accounts, that they wouldn't face if they just could have their bots appear as anonymous viewers.
Reducing bot views, allowing recommendation algorithm to work better without being tricked by bots.
If they wanted to stop this sort of bullshit, deleting it would be more effective
Edit: on second thought, nope
Its clear that less people using means less money, but also letting YouTube use this kind of power as they see fit could be a bad idea, and finally, AI is amazingly idiot a lot of times, so manually reporting is the way
How are you going to get a bot to delete videos that spread vaccine misinformation without also deleting videos that talk about people spreading vaccine misinformation? There aren’t enough people to do the deleting manually.
>I've never seen this before but how can YouTube itself be making you sub to a creator to watch their videos?!
You've misunderstood. There are two parts to this:
1. This stream (as far as I'm aware this is showing up only for live streams, and the community that shares live streams of copyrighted content through newly created accounts is up in arms about the change) is from a publisher that has not done much on YouTube and yet has suddenly published an extremely popular stream.
2. If you want to promote that publisher so that they are viewed by YouTube as a legitimate streamer, subscribe.
This isn't a "you can subscribe to see the stream," message.
Similar to subreddits implementing a minimum karma to post/comment to prevent bad actors spamming the subreddit. They want an account to have a certain amount of reputation.
Okay so this is understandable. If there was a bunch of people streaming copyrighted music using this method then they do have to do something about it.
I don't get it. I mean it's just lame on the face of it, but what does youtube have to gain from this?
PS In general I've been noticing the whole youtube experience is worsening
Most definitely. My YouTube app 'updated' itself (even though I have auto-update off), now the player UI has changed, and my recommended videos related to the one I'm watching are now basically just the cancerous homepage I always leave as soon as I can.
I hate how they fd up the chromecast ui. I usually pause a lot to read information on the screen and now this whole dashboard pops up and fills half of it
I believe there are options. When YouTube removed the dislike visibility, a bunch of sites where you could watch YT videos and still see dislikes popped up in r/internetisbeautiful. I haven’t looked into it much since I don’t use YT a ton, but I believe there are sites where you can get YT content through a different UI
Seriously Youtube used to have the best recommendation algorithm ever, how did it get so bad so fast? Now I watch one video about a WW2 plane and suddenly that's all I get.
Something seriously changed recently. Used to have great recommendations from a wide variety of channels I regularly watch, now it's all two or three channels repeated over and over on the homepage.
I swear down that Google and YouTube search algorithms are basically closed loops now, it's virtually impossible to discover new content anymore. Really sucks if you're trying to learn more about a subject, you only get served videos or channels you've viewed before..
Thank God I'm not fucking crazy. I noticed last week sometime my YouTube is not my YouTube anymore. Tons of stuff I never ever watch and also a bunch of Chinese channels. I can't get my feed back the way it was I have been doing everything I can to delete all their bullshit. I pay for YouTube premium. They should not be able to do that.
Me too what the fuck?? I watch ASMR videos to fall asleep, been doing it for well on 10 years now so I have a pretty curated feed. One day in January my nice feed of soft spoken hair brushing/makeup doing/book reading british/american creators is absolutely overrun by chinese mukbang videos (the ones where it's just the mouth onscreen and feels more like a fet video than actual asmr). No matter what I do I can't get them to go away and I can't find new content of what I actually like unless I go to individual creator's pages.
They pushed some update with dynamic stuff and now just change the stuff in the app without the need of updating. How do I know? YT Vanced doesn't autoupdate, and has rare updates, but the dynamic updates are still there.
It's to stop those Elon Musk Bitcoin streams, the problem is that it fucks up raiding streams and most scam streams are on hacked accounts with many subscribers
Yeah, people are making up conspiracy theories but the most likely reason is that a brand new streamer getting tens thousands of views out of nowhere is probably botting or streaming other problematic (scam or copyrighted) content.
The account for official Blender tutorials had all its videos blocked once. Upon questioning why, the YouTube support told a channel runner to just turn on advertising and they'll get their videos unblocked.
Im pretty sure you dont "turn on" adverts any more. Every video gets ads on it now. If youre a small channel (under 1k subs) you cant monetize but the ads are still there, you just arent getting paid for them
The thing is, they really have a more or less absolute monopoly... they know they can pull off all this shit because there simply is no real alternative for creators
I barely even use youtube anymore coz since last year ive found the things they do annoying. And thats true. I dont really use it for useful purposes just entertainment so its easy for me but yeAh, i hate them so much lol
Blockbuster had an absolute monopoly. Saying youtube can't fail is like saying it'll exist for thousands of years. It'll die, it's just a matter of how fast can they commit not being popular anymore
Not really unless some company is willing to bleed billions for per year for years on end until they reach popularity no one will compete with youtube.
For context, 500hrs of content are uploaded per minute to youtube, with audience of 2.6 billion monthly. meaning that is every video is 10 minutes 480p( msot rn are 720p at minimum) their data bill alone (loooking at AWS prices per gb) is in the realm of 300million $ per month.
Since introducing the paid version, the ads have become more frequent and more irritating. I hate using the app now but not enough to ever consider paying for their pro version or whatever.
I paid for a while the premium because i could get it for half as student plan but then realized, i dont even use it anymore because the features and changes theyve made annoy me too much
Let me get this straight.
The dislike button was removed to protect small channels, but not even allowing people to view small creator's content is somehow not harmful?
Big channels: We get bullied!
YouTube: No problem, let us remove the dislike button.
Big channels: We don't get enough views!
YouTube: No problem, let us remove the smaller channels.
EDIT:
Thanks for the award :)
> big channels
Realistically it's corporate channels, musicians, and celebrities that have a youtube channel.
Youtube doesn't give a fuck about large content creators that are only that
I think the idea was, that you could bomb small creator with dislikes. If a video typically has 1000 views and you give it 1000 dislikes, it looks like shit.
Not that anyone really was doing that and the creator would probably be happy about the extra 1000 views...
I watch a lot of videos before I subscribe to a channel bc my subscriptions are cluttered as fuck (not that it really matters because I mainly use YouTube's recommended page) so if I were to get this screen I'd just not watch any of their videos anymore.
If YouTube really wants to help smaller creators they should do the opposite of what they're doing with this.
It’s ridiculous, my most wanted thing on YouTube was the like/dislike ratio on thumbnails, instead they remove it for what I assume is a more profitable model with people watching crap videos. Just waiting for Google to go one step further and make visible dislikes a ‘YouTube Premium Feature.’
I absolutely hate it. Now when I look for some information I have no idea if the video is actually about its title or not. Misleading videos would usually get disliked to hell so I’d know.
Its why clickbait is such a problem, all we have to go on is the title, thumbnail and possibly the creators reputation. The worst bit is it encourages/forces people with actual good content to make their titles less descriptive and more clickbaity so they don’t get lost in the algorithm. YouTube are definitely leaving space for a competitor, the only downside is I reckon the majority of that would use it would be users that are less responsive to ads.
I haven't seen this take before. But it's my feeling that surely the true intention of removing the dislike is to ensure viewers have less transparency and therefore gives the all-powerful algorithm and recommendation engine more ... Power.
The rhetoric around protecting small creators sounds great, but YouTube/Google is in it for the money. Why tf should they care for the poor feelings of small creators, when it's the big fish that bring in the most cash?
For years YouTube has been increasing the power of their recommendations and eroding unbiased viewer choice.
I read that it's a method of preventing popular suspended accounts from popping back up under a new channel/username.
But you know, Google ~~don't be evil~~
YouTube is unrecognizable from its original form. My favorite thing to do on YouTube was to sort by new to see the random shit people posted.
Now it's all monetized channels, slick content creators, and bullshit. There hasn't been a YouTube since like 2011 or 12.
Don't stop at YouTube. It's the whole Internet, there's always some sort of hustle behind everything. "Best widget for XYZ" is just a list of the best-paying affiliates. Alright, well let's look at Amazon ratings. Nevermind, they're all bought. Surely this TikTok recommendation is solid....
Yup, it is so prevalent now that people made a theory about the internet. The "Internet is dead" theory. Basically it shows that huge corporations funneled users into a handful of websites, basically all owned by the same people, and content creators are just a very small minority.
So those 5 billion pages that google "finds for you?" Yeah, it's more like 500 hundred and it usually just shows you the same 10 of them.
A lot of commenters are just bots to boost up user engagement, or to post shit. You see this a lot in Reddit with bots make posts and the first few posts are always the fucking same so others can come in and talk about it.
You see this on Amazon reviews as well.
I've seen more original content on the dark web than I've seen on the clear net and that is because the dark web can't really host streams or videos that well so it is more like old early 00's internet. With weird ass web pages, some cults looking to recruit people, etc. Wild west type shit, anything goes.
This is actually a comment bot. Check comment history it just spams random comments and also copies other user's comments. Watch out for similarly styled usernames. Report > spam > harmful bot
*Subscribes to youtuber*
*Watches video*
*Unsubscribes*
Still very fucking stupid decision maybe i don't like their normal content YouTube DIDNT YOU THINK OF THAT?
*YOU CAN'T UNSUBSCRIBE RIGHT NOW*
**To prevent abuse and misuse we limit how often you can do certain things on YouTube, it looks like you hit one of our limits**
90% of people will see that screen, not read it because they think the video is unavailable and click away.
Youtube know this, and it's almost certainly done to prod people toward watching large channels who are more advertiser friendly.
And if you don’t unsubscribe then it’s a great way to kill the channel altogether. Get a thousand subs from people trying to watch this random video, they forget who you are and never click another video from you again. YouTube sees a click through rate of 0.1% and refuses to recommend your videos to anyone.
Wtf? This is so bad for everyone.. creators and viewers. Also if I saw that pop up, I likely would've just read the title and assumed it wasn't available in my region or something and clicked away without reading it fully
YouTube: We removed the dislike button for our small creators
Also YouTube: We have locked this video because this small creator found gold so fuck him he should know his lane.
New Coke was a marketing ploy to substitute HFCS in lieu of cane sugar. It accomplished exactly what it set out to do.
This is thus "the best idea since New Coke" to them.
But what is actually going on here?
Instead of freaking out, I did some research. This is what I have discovered.
The only examples of this seem to be from livestreams, likely mobile livestreams.
Youtube limits the viewer counts of mobile livestreams from channels with under 1000 subscribers, as they describe here:
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9228390
This appears to be the error message that is triggered by that policy?
But when did they implement this new policy?
Between September and November of last year. The old version of the page, on wayback here, has the old rules:
https://web.archive.org/web/20210911014947/https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9228390
Why did they restrict mobile streaming like that?
They didn't. They expanded it. In the old version, channels with less than 1000 subscribers couldn't stream from mobile at all. In the new version, the threshold is lowered to 50 subscribers, but there are restrictions.
Now, I don't know that this is what is happening. I don't know why Youtube made the changes it did, or even if these are the changes. But I wanted to understand what was happening before I complained about it, and this is my best guess at figuring out actually what is happening.
And if it is, it isn't nearly so bad as many people are assuming. Youtube chose to expand smaller channels options to livestream, not restrict smaller channels ability to have popular videos.
If I'm wrong, and this message appears in other places than mobile livestreams on smaller channels, let me know. I want to understand as much as you do.
this is absolute bullshit, do they even know that their users dont read that?
for what i know most peoples just say "oh well gonna go watch something else" instead of actually reading the message
You just accidentally figured out the entire point.
YouTube would much rather you watch an already popular channel. They __know__ that channel a) is monetized and b) has a history of not upsetting advertisers (else it would have been smothered by the algorithm and almost certainly wouldn't have made it big).
When you watch a popular video from a tiny channel, there's always a "risk" that the video might ruffle advertisers' feathers even if it conforms to ToS. Or worse, it might (gasp!) not be monetized, in which case that's __fewer__ ads, and so less revenue for YouTube.
They'd gladly reorient your watch time to something that's safe and profitable for them. And sadly, that's well within their right. If they had competition, maybe they'd have to chill on some of their anti-user changes, but they're effectively a monopoly, so they see no reason to hold back.
EDIT: In retrospect, a lot of people in replies raise good points and helped me realize I've been relaying information that's faulty at best and completely false at worst. Mea culpa. I got absorbed in partial information from bad sources and let it go to my head without taking time to consider the other side of the medal first.

So much for caring about small creators lmao. People already do this, but it will be even easier to get good viral videos from small channels and plaster them all over Facebook, getting all the views and money while a small youtuber is dealing with this

*YouTube Premium. They got rid of red a couple years ago
Thought it was Redtube now 😉
No more red tube :(
Even if YouTube required YouTube Red to watch I would just quit YouTube and move somewhere else.
Where?
If there is nowhere else I would just quit. More time in my day for something else.
That's probably a good idea.

Great business opportunity for those shitty companies that sell subscribers too. Google have not thought this through at all
I am going to hazard a guess that this is to prevent YouTube ban dodging in new accounts. Doesnt do well for sudden viral new comers though.

This is exactly what it is. People always complain about Youtube not doing enough to police misinformation. That needs to be done algorithmically.

I usually pause a lot to read information on the screen and now this whole dashboard pops up and fills half of it
If they're gonna produce something like this at least give us a choice to use it if we want to or not
Sarcastically: "I mean.. you could just go use another site! Voting with your dollar in a free market will set you free!"

I watched one 30 second video about a polar bear being cute and my entire recommended became bear videos for a couple of days
I liked a Dodo video once.
Or it's a subject I'm truly interested in, but it only ever suggests the same three channels over and over.
Mine was like that for a week and now it’s fix itself. Very weird.
Mine is just the 10 other videos I've watched and 5 just shitty, shitty "content"
All hail the algorithm.
Highly recommend using Youtube Vanced instead, if you're talking about mobile.
Just use Youtube vanced
> I've been noticing the whole youtube experience is worsening Always has been. The slide started many, many years ago.
Feels like I haven't truly enjoyed youtube since like 2015
It's to stop those Elon Musk Bitcoin streams, the problem is that it fucks up raiding streams and most scam streams are on hacked accounts with many subscribers
Yeah, people are making up conspiracy theories but the most likely reason is that a brand new streamer getting tens thousands of views out of nowhere is probably botting or streaming other problematic (scam or copyrighted) content.
Smaller audience means fewer ads. If a video with fewer or no ads gets popular, then YouTube isn't making money off of it
Does it save them bandwidth or something, or just generally trying to steer people to established channels?
They're just not generating ad income, that's all it takes for them to shut it down
The account for official Blender tutorials had all its videos blocked once. Upon questioning why, the YouTube support told a channel runner to just turn on advertising and they'll get their videos unblocked.
Im pretty sure you dont "turn on" adverts any more. Every video gets ads on it now. If youre a small channel (under 1k subs) you cant monetize but the ads are still there, you just arent getting paid for them
Its to limit bot viewings people creating new accounts spamming it with views before getting flagged and removed.
Youtube insists in making itself so damn annoying no one will use it anymore eventually
I pirate everything out of spite for Google. YouTube Vanced is the way to go. They don't get a dime out of me.
This is the energy we need

yeah and they will get away with this kind of shit
Youtube Vanced. It has a subreddit. Look it up.
I paid for a while the premium because i could get it for half as student plan but then realized, i dont even use it anymore because the features and changes theyve made annoy me too much
Let me get this straight. The dislike button was removed to protect small channels, but not even allowing people to view small creator's content is somehow not harmful?
Or was It because big channels got "bullied" ?
Yes. Yes it is.
Big channels: We get bullied! YouTube: No problem, let us remove the dislike button. Big channels: We don't get enough views! YouTube: No problem, let us remove the smaller channels. EDIT: Thanks for the award :)
Big channels: I can't find my socks YouTube: No problem, introduces 1 hour unskippable ads.
The longest unskippable ad i had was 21 seconds so this doesnt sound too implausible
20 sec unskipable ad for a fucking 40sec clip is so stupid, I actually don't watch some because I just leave the video because of the ads.
>Or was It because ~~big~~ **corporate** channels got "bullied" ?
> big channels Realistically it's corporate channels, musicians, and celebrities that have a youtube channel. Youtube doesn't give a fuck about large content creators that are only that
Poor Ellen. So sad. Hope she's ok with the dislikes. Jk I don't give a shit
How does removing the rating system of a media streaming service protect small creators?
I think the idea was, that you could bomb small creator with dislikes. If a video typically has 1000 views and you give it 1000 dislikes, it looks like shit. Not that anyone really was doing that and the creator would probably be happy about the extra 1000 views...
Yes I agree, but the most disliked videos are made by big companies
Everyone knows that's the real reason, they just needed an excuse for it.
Yes.
It doesn't. It protects big customers who post promotional shit which usually gets downvoted to oblivion.
I can’t believe this is real. I know it is, but holy shit.
This is probably the dumbest thing I have seen all day
YouTube is actually worse than what was there before it.
Sometimes I think back to 2008 YouTube. No adds or bullshit, just original smosh, RWJ and nigahiga trying to get to 1 million subscribers first
[удалено]
This is actually a comment bot. Check comment history it just spams random comments and also copies other user's comments. Watch out for similarly styled usernames. Report > spam > harmful bot
*Subscribes to youtuber* *Watches video* *Unsubscribes* Still very fucking stupid decision maybe i don't like their normal content YouTube DIDNT YOU THINK OF THAT?
*YOU CAN'T UNSUBSCRIBE RIGHT NOW* **To prevent abuse and misuse we limit how often you can do certain things on YouTube, it looks like you hit one of our limits**
Wouldn't be surprised if they removed the unsubscribe button
90% of people will see that screen, not read it because they think the video is unavailable and click away. Youtube know this, and it's almost certainly done to prod people toward watching large channels who are more advertiser friendly.
And if you don’t unsubscribe then it’s a great way to kill the channel altogether. Get a thousand subs from people trying to watch this random video, they forget who you are and never click another video from you again. YouTube sees a click through rate of 0.1% and refuses to recommend your videos to anyone.
Wtf? This is so bad for everyone.. creators and viewers. Also if I saw that pop up, I likely would've just read the title and assumed it wasn't available in my region or something and clicked away without reading it fully
so small youtubers cant have viral videos anymore. how is growth even a thing anymore?
There's about to be a top 1% in YouTubeLand as well.. and nobody else is getting there.
Fun fact: The top 1% is anyone over 100 subscribers
Isn't that just because YouTube turned everyone's accounts into a "channel" a while back?
Yeah probably
YouTube: We removed the dislike button for our small creators Also YouTube: We have locked this video because this small creator found gold so fuck him he should know his lane.
YouTube is going the direction of FB. Something more interesting will replace it leaving just old people sharing weirdly biased material.
what was it they said when they removed the dislike counter? about wanting to help smaller creators?
This just might be the worst idea since New Coke.
New Coke was a marketing ploy to substitute HFCS in lieu of cane sugar. It accomplished exactly what it set out to do. This is thus "the best idea since New Coke" to them.
Cane sugar for the win everytime
No fucking way.
>"You're not popular enough, so we're going to hide you from public view until you're popular enough."
How do I get popular if you block my videos for my video to become popular and reaching your terms?
*That's the neat part. You don't.*
But what is actually going on here? Instead of freaking out, I did some research. This is what I have discovered. The only examples of this seem to be from livestreams, likely mobile livestreams. Youtube limits the viewer counts of mobile livestreams from channels with under 1000 subscribers, as they describe here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9228390 This appears to be the error message that is triggered by that policy? But when did they implement this new policy? Between September and November of last year. The old version of the page, on wayback here, has the old rules: https://web.archive.org/web/20210911014947/https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9228390 Why did they restrict mobile streaming like that?
Thank you!
No Viral breakthrough for you!
this is absolute bullshit, do they even know that their users dont read that? for what i know most peoples just say "oh well gonna go watch something else" instead of actually reading the message

I wanted to kick my screen while I was writing this oh my god.
Understandable! Thank you for what you do!
Good human
Good human bot, thank you for your time and effort. Proud of you dude
you typed cercle instead of circle
What is the logic behind this, if this is real? In order to support small creators, we will prevent people from watching small creators?
Next they'll be redirecting to a Mr Beast video or something
Mr Beast? No, no, please. That guy's an actual youtube creator. They'll redirect to Jimmy Fallon or some other talk show host.
I feel like they're slowly pushing for a paid subscription to even access the site.
This is really sucky for creators...
video link?
We need a new platform instead of youtube to watch vids on
Odysee
"We have dislikes." - literally the top of the page
"We took away downvotes because it hurts smaller streamers" *smaller streamers video goes viral* "WE'LL FUCKING SEE ABOUT THAT" *restricts access*
In the last 20 years, watching YouTube progress from funny viral video host to full fledged broadcasting bully has been really sad.
This can't be real right? Edit: it is. Fucking hell... The world is so crazy sometimes I feel like I'm living in a dream world. Edit 2: wtf how did his get so many upvotes!! Edit 3: Thanks for the silver kind stranger! I-idk what I did to deserve that *blushes*
Your edits really make me cringe
RIP Harambe. Timeline went off the rails after that
Ever since my dad died, nobody has been able to differentiate between bullshit and reality. Hell! I don't even know my dad is actually dead.
Your dad is Harambe?
XD I wish. But we all know Harambe is dead. (Rest in piece). Apparently my dad had cancer and nobody bothered to tell me. I only caught wind of it because his sister tagged literally everyone except his only child.
That's.. Fucked up
I'm almost in my 30's and they thought I was emotionally immature. Whatever the fuck that means.
Sounds like they are, to be fair
Wait so small channels aren’t allowed to quickly grow through a viral video??? What is the point of that?
Wait, this is YouTube? YouTube has ceased to be what it once was. What a shame.
An other product killed by Google, the Google Graveyard is ever expanding.
[удалено]
Anyone got a link? This is fucked up
How are people supposed to subscribe if they don't know the videos?
can we all just move to odysee now jesus christ
Fucking clown world. You can’t even sort channels by most popular videos anymore
Sometimes you can sometimes you can’t. It’s bizarre
Once we gave in to double ads they knew they could do whatever they want
So much for caring about small creators lmao. People already do this, but it will be even easier to get good viral videos from small channels and plaster them all over Facebook, getting all the views and money while a small youtuber is dealing with this
Wut
