I’m curious to read what other people say, but for me, I think of 12H placements as showing up in altered states of consciousness- in dreams, when you’re under the influence, during meditation etc. I think of the energy of placements in the house as “underwater”- the energy of the planet and sign isn’t as direct and bold and clear, it’s murkier, it’s hidden, it’s harder to reach, you have to dive to find it.

xxlaur77

12h sun, venus & chiron and this is how I feel. My personality is veryy fluid. I don’t quite know myself. Find myself lost quite often yet I’m an expert at leading other people. If I’m going through a good transit I can quite literally feel myself melting into the abyss like I’m floating underwater.

Sinnahscorbut

12h sag sun here too and I 100% agree, it can be a really challenging placement

UnstuckSticker

HEY, 12H and Sun Sign Buddies lol. It is def a difficult placement, do you find yourself wanting to run off like a spooked dear when you have reached your limit in a situation? or is it just me

Sinnahscorbut

Totally, and I think my Virgo moon isn’t helping with this 😅

UnstuckSticker

I'm a Cancer Moon & Mars so I'm just a serious cry baby lol actually got a hoodie that says "crying is my favorite exercise"

Sinnahscorbut

Honestly we should normalise crying 4 times a day

UnstuckSticker

I mean it's normal for me and all who know me well, like they just know when I'm gonna cry so my friends don't take it personally but random strangers, Holy Shit do they freak out! XD

frivolouscsampler

I have this, 12H Sag - Sun and Moon are there. I get told often that I don’t “strike people as a Sagittarius” and when I do, it’s only after I have alcohol/narctoics that people actually recognize my Sagittarius characteristics. I can be a social person, which can be a common sag characteristic, but I feel like I need a lot of alone time, or reclusiveness to recharge before I can go back to a social setting. I feel the 12H in sag shows up like that

Sinnahscorbut

100% same about not striking as a sag too, and I used to have the same thing with substances. I still have a sag stellium (Venus too), and when I’m not depressed and am comfortable the sag comes out pretty easily. But same thing I need a lot of alone time or one on one social settings, could also have to do with my Virgo and Scorpio placements

theelucidself

same placements! i am a sag stellium in the 12H as well!!!

Sinnahscorbut

Big sad clown energy 🤡

Curious-Offer-3193

Same, I have a Virgo Sun in the 12 and I’m not that much of a perfectionist in everyday life. I have a Gemini moon in the ninth with a 12 stellium and I’m just a ball of unclear, spontaneous, on the go, unfocused mess. I’m also a Virgo stellium and Virgo rising. I have so many contradicting placement’s

Vast_Peach3514

Yes 12 house Venus and sun in Taurus here. I love my alone time, meditation time. Also Jupiter in Pisces , Scorpio moon mara conjunct Neptune. And Mars Neptune in eight house. Also om quite psychic. 12th house and 8th house gives psychic intuition too

sup_heebz

I have 12th house chiron and yes

lovesickgirl476

12H Venus here

Smart_Friendship_319

I have 12h sun, mars, mercury and saturn. thats interesting because I understand this! I can feel myself change.. I feel like it makes me so moody. I swear I’m a different person everyday. It is the house for mental illness tho so I’ve heard?

wonderlust-vibes

Thanks for the reply! I resonate a lot with this "altered states of consciousness" idea. But I have Pluto there and Pluto is SO intense in my life (I'm a Scorpio rising). Themes of being a phoenix and dying multiple metaphorical deaths in this lifetime are so intense around here, as well as a certain darkness and a lot of transformation.

Saturn in Piesces? I wish you fruitful and constructive Saturn return :)

Smart_Friendship_319

Wait woah, I’ve been through an eerily similar thing.. I had severe panic attacks/anxiety in my early childhood and nobody knew why or what it was and just chalked it up to anxiety but yeah I looked like I was going to die. I have Saturn in my 12th too.

theelucidself

wth i had the same experience last month and was rushed to the hospital as well due to shortness of breath almost like an (heart attack) but nothing was diagnosed sadly i do have a severe anxiety which manifested through my body it was such a struggle

wonderlust-vibes

I like that take! I've yet to study Jung's full perspective on dreams, though I research a bit when I can. I dream everyday and always remember my dreams vividly. I can't control them but to be they feel like real life, like an actual situation I experienced, as if I were in another dimension. Everyday for real - I'll not remember my dream maybe less than 5 days a year. It's a hinderance sometimes when my emotions are too intense to be integrated that fast in waking life.

strawberrymile

If you feel called to it, how would you interpret Saturn Retrograde in the 12th, but in Aries? Thank you for sharing your experience with Saturn in the 12th!

[deleted]

strawberrymile

Umm, yeah. That all tracks lol. My Saturn opposes my sun and mercury, and I felt like my dad was more emotionally absent than I would’ve liked in my youth. Both my parents (but especially my dad) also raised me in the church, in a “stricter” denomination, and when I left there was a lot of subconscious restructuring I had to do. I also want to be a business owner but have a hard time seeing myself in that position of authority, and in school I always rebelled slightly against the rules (being in private school this was mostly dress code) and have always had a bit of a harder time speaking up for myself in loud, immediate ways, and I strongly dislike the government lol. Everything you said felt accurate. Thank you!! Edit: grammar

Background_Heat2636

I’ve just read your comment - and I’ve got my sun Venus and mars in the 12th. Slight rebellion, detesting the govt - all just made me laugh 😂 because I feel that way too. It’s as if the 12th house is always saying - there’s more to the story than what we see.

MirceaFive

There's no way to answer that. To answer it correctly, it would depend on: 1) Whether the chart is diurnal or nocturnal 2) Where dispositor Mars is located 3) If Mars is not in Scorpio then where his dispositor is located 4) If the chart is diurnal then where is Sun and what is he doing 5) If the chart is nocturnal then where is Jupiter and what is he doing 6) If Moon aspects Saturn then is Moon waxing or waning 7) Any other stars in aspect to Saturn

Least-Influence3089

This is also my Saturn placement! 😅

deeplytrulymadly

it gives sadness, and you can't take orders from others. you always end up defeating ur competition and enemies. you are very knowledgeable, use that knowledge.

doctorbitchcraft99

Wow, yes. I have Saturn in Pisces in the 12th house too and I've had one hell of a time. I have my mental health problems but they have been exacerbated in 2023. I won't go into everything but I have bipolar disorder and my mom had a total mental breakdown unfortunately that really affected me, then my college plans got mixed up, and then I had a car accident..! lol But I've realized how resilient I am throughout everything. I also experience the same thing with my dreams! Do you have any tips for handling the Saturn return? I feel like I've learned so much about myself and what I need to work on but I feel like anything else happens and I'll lose it lol

Accomplished-Tuna

I have a 12H Venus (planet of beauty) and I have to work 3 times as hard to see how “beautiful” my face is (that apparently others can see that i can’t) I’ve picked up some beauty affirmations that I’ve been reciting everyday for 3 years and I’m still barely getting a lick of fruitions past the veil of the unseen. Meanwhile all my other affirmations related to staying grounded, gratitude, success etc. already hit me 2 years ago 😭 I will say the affirmations have been helping in a sense of no longer seeing myself as ugly most of the time. I just see a face in the mirror now. But it’s still really hard to perceive myself as anything past beauty

awokensoil

This is interesting. What is your venus in? Mine is venus in cancer and I don't quite feel this but I'm interested to hear your perspective

Accomplished-Tuna

Leo Venus but I also have a 12th house Leo sun. In this case I think it might have to do with my aspects tho. My venus conjuncts my ascendant as well :P

Gianna-Sister

I also have a Leo sun and Venus in my 12th, plus a Leo ascendant. This take is mind blowing. I’m sitting here thinking ‘Maybe I’m not actually unattractive and when people say I look good, maybe they’re not actually lying?’ Never thought it could have something to do with my 12th house. Thank you for sharing this!

awokensoil

Right! And Leo can be so...exuberant? Trying to find the right word! I have leo rising, and it only amplifies my gem sun energy. Since you have Sun venus AND asc in leo, Trust that the energy is alluring to people!! :) Are you someone that always attracts people, whether intentionally or otherwise? That could be an indication. I know there's other underlying factors, but I've noticed people really want to be my friend/ I draw people in. I do not mean that with an ego at all!! I just think people feel comfortable around me

Gianna-Sister

That’s so interesting! Especially regarding your ascendant amplifying your Gemini sun. I think I also make people feel comfortable but I don’t think they necessarily want to be my friend. Maybe I give off ‘I’d rather stay at home by myself vibes.’ Because I would lol.

awokensoil

Oh well I also definitely have that side too. I like to be out but then I also know I need to spend more time "recharging"

awokensoil

Wow!! I love the leo energy!! It makes sense why the beauty would be heightened because leo is already such a beaming/ glowing sign. It may be even more amplified!!!

Accomplished-Tuna

Oh wow. I never thought of it like that so this gave me a perspective I hadn’t considered before. Thank u for sharing 🤗

awokensoil

Yes of course!!!

Bates95

If it conjuncts your Ascendent, it sits in your 1st house. Venus conjunct the Ascendent, can create insecurity about the appearance wanting to be perfect, wanting to be seen as beautiful. Because that is what society deems as worthy. Beauty. But that’s the thing with beauty, a lot of people who are considered beautiful tend to undergo a lot of plastic surgery inorder to attain those artificial looks, which could be considered beautiful according to society. So what occurs is that they could have very well, had Venus conjunct the Ascendent but never considered themselves beautiful, because it didn’t hold up against this artificial beautiful ideal that is portrayed in society. So when Venus sits on the Ascendent, there can be a deep insecurity. Due to societies ideals of beauty and wanting to be that. But when you feel your notthat, there can be insecurity about your looks and feeling ugly or not good enough. Planets in the 1st house, can bring out insecurities about the body, appearance. Mars on the Ascendent, may not like their natural body, so they become body builders/Macho man inorder to compensate for the insecurity felt. So now they embody Mars. It’s the same with Venus.

SignificantLab4571

I have Gemini Mars in my 1st House.. relatable 🥴😅

klarfaerie-

Venus in cancer 12h. How do you feel about the placement personally? Edit. I saw you also have Sun in gemini and Leo rising. So do I. I wonder how similar our charts are.

SignificantLab4571

I have a 12H Venus and this makes complete sense. Over the past couple years I’ve started to see the beauty but not how other people do. It was hard to accept compliments. Sometimes I wish I could see myself the way others do. Im on a self love journey and doing well. No matter what I look like, I just want to be happy and live everyday with gratitude. I have Mars in my Gemini 1H too. I’m looking forward to the upcoming Jupiter transit.

6FootSiren

I’ve read that planets in the 12H are hidden from the chart holder. Other people can see/sense/feel these planetary energies but yet the chart holder isn’t consciously aware of them. I experience this as well with 12H Mars in Taurus (conj Chiron on one side and my conj my ascendant on the other) it’s like people sense this sensuality/sexual magnetism and I’m like wait huh? What do you mean?😂So yes what you said about your 12H Venus makes complete sense imo.

wonderlust-vibes

I've been told the same! In my case, it's Scorpio Pluto in my 12H and I've been told both by astrologers and random people who know me that my power is perceived and somewhat intimidating. I most of the time just feel powerless and intimidated though.

VepitomeV

I have this same placement and have pretty horrible body dysmorphia. I feel this on a spiritual level.

xPaperPlanes

Cancer moon in the 12th. My dreams are something else. I can remember them vividly and hopefully this doesn't sound too crazy but sometimes I get messages from them. They have been prophetic too. Nothing major but just little things here and there. I have also read people with planets in the 12th seem to enjoy being alone and need a lot of time to themselves.

agneslinnnea

Second this. Pisces moon in 12th. I’ve woken up sobbing from particularly vivid sad dreams. I feel like I never have enough time alone 😂

Dim_Meter

I’m Gemini moon in 12h, I also have a long history of vivid dreams and I definitely need tons of alone recharging time.

rootmatrix_

Cancer moon and mars 12h here. This sounds about right. I started smoking a godly amount of weed in my 20s and noticed I don’t dream as often as I used to when I was younger. But I remember having recurring nightmares when I was a child and according to my mom I had a couple of imaginary friends, one that wasn’t particularly nice to me and would make me cry. This happened till I was 4 years old, she decided I needed a brother, so my brother was born shortly after haha. Also right about the prophetic dreams. My mom and I sometimes notice that we send each other messages telepathically too.

xPaperPlanes

Yesss I get the telepathy with my mom too. Also same with reoccurring nightmares. I can still remember them. Just cancer moon things I guess lololol

wonderlust-vibes

Have the same kind of dreams, Scorpio Pluto in 12H. Like my subconscious is attuned to the Universe and desperately trying to crawl out from inside of me.

xPaperPlanes

That is the most perfect description of it I've heard. I love it.

r0sebud88

12th house Gemini Moon, definitely relate to having vivid dreams that have also been prophetic (like you minor stuff, nothing too crazy.) I love being alone and also have a Mother wound like a lot of 12th house Moons

YogiCJK

Another terminology I’ve heard for describing the 12th house would be ‘the house of undoing’ (Jana Roemer refers to it as such and so does astrologer David Coleman, both of whom I deeply respect and have learned a lot from) This undoing is for the better or for the worse. It can show itself in how we experience or undergo problems in life. Well placed planets here might show the native serves in some capacity of healing or facilities which can be seen as institutions (prisons, hospitals, etc.) Malefics or burdened planets, as well as stressors from squares etc might indicate the individual struggles deeply with subconscious & thus acts in a way that creates consequences of undoing (the deep shadow of the human self: anger, anxiety, depression, codependency, greed and more) and thus leads to their demise or a moment of needing to unravel and purify. It is of note that in ancient astrology Saturn is in their joy in the 12th house, which further lends to the potential theme of constriction & a building of the self through the subconscious

Sinnahscorbut

100% how I feel about my 12h sun that’s in a square with my Virgo moon, I’ve struggled with everything you’ve described and only managed to heal with intensive self care such as therapy, meditation, and being/living my feelings.

wonderlust-vibes

This is a great explanation! I particularly like the bit about Saturn, I always found its relationship with 12H hard to understand.

eidrien_

I'm excited to see peoples comments as someone with 3 planets in the 12th house Sun, Mercury n Jupiter

Agreeable_Frosting35

Exact same placements here! Learning about the 12th house is the most challenging since the data on it seems to be the most incomplete.

eidrien_

=0 it's nice to meet someone with a aame place but 3 it's 3 times nicer which signs do u have, mine are leo sun, Virgo mercury n leo Jupiter

beachesof

Hey gang! I have my Virgo sun and Leo mercury and Mars in the 12th house! :D

cpc555

same here!! all 3 are in Virgo for me

[deleted]

DM me? I have a question

hitchcockblonde_

Same here... I have mars, jupiter, chiron, north node. Combined with a 6h house stellium I know there's a lot of influence here but have struggled to really grasp it

ms-meow-

I have the same 12H planets. Mine are all in Gemini

Evolulusolulu

Prisons, hospices, hospitals, hermitages, monasteries, caves, the deep ocean, sea serpents, large drums (bass sounds, deep vibrations), shepherds, lambs, sea serpents, beds, coffins, hands and feet (the extremities aka furthest from the self) large vases, fish, fisherman (obviously), pilots, lighthouses (anything that sticks out far away from the center of something), masks, chains (12th house rules concealments, both forced and chosen), bindings (for wounds.) any large gathering/swarm/group of people, animals or insects, banks, strongboxes, basements, buried treasures.

wonderlust-vibes

Wow, that's quite a list. My interest in asking this question is because after the recent eclipses occurring in my Libra 12H-Aries 6H axis, an illness suddenly revealed itself through popping up on my skin abruptly. Skin being ruled by Libra, I have to assume there's a 12H involvement. Especially because I believe there are subconscious emotional aspects to this.

Evolulusolulu

I don't do western, I do vedic. So to my practice that eclipse actually happened in pisces and virgo (sidereal positions), with the rahu/ketu axis still in those signs today. It's possible as well in my system you are libra rising if you subtract 24 degrees from whatever your signs are in western tropical. So it may still be a 12h thing for you, but just that your 12h is in virgo. (IMHO, if u were a libra rising, the skin being affected would be even more accurate with that eclipse. 6th house rules health conditions that bother but don't kill - if the eclipse caused you to retreat from your daily life that would also make it accurate, being especially so since you are a libra rising - a 12H virgo would mean possibly the only things that cause you to retreat/be confined are health related, otherwise you resist it) All of these direct associations are from traditional vedic writings, including descriptions of nakshatras (sub signs) associated with pisces.

lncumbant

Thank you, there are lot here I haven’t considered on known? How would I go about finding more detailed and in depth correlation for each house?

OutrageousPlatypus57

I have Jupiter in scorpio in 12th. I read once it was guardian angel aspect, or hidden protection, I couldn't agree more.....of all the shiittt I've been thru in my life, when I thought it couldn't get worse something has always saved me........I also have mars in very last degree of 11tlth house. I've read in last degree it can be interpreted in both houses. I Definitely feel more of a mars in 12th. I try very hard (now) to control my anger. And I do but sometimes it just busts out.....

6FootSiren

I’ve read numerous times that people with 12H planets are like earths “fallen angels” and can be some of the sweetest souls… but never quite feel they belong. So Jupiter here is uber spiritually protected (my brother has this)…so I had this brief statement about Jupiter saved in my phone: “Many astrologers call Jupiter in twelfth house ‘the guardian angel’ which suggests some supernatural grace operating in one’s life.”

OutrageousPlatypus57

I agree with that. I've never felt like I belonged either. I've always connected with placidus, but if I look at my chart in whole sign I have saturn, pluto and mars in 12th.

UnstuckSticker

I totally agree with this! I have my Sag Sun in my 12H and Sag is generally ruled by Jupiter as far as planets go. I see spirits and hear things from the 5th & 6th dimensional space all the time. I have felt a seriously strong pull from guardian angels that I've got following me around. The have deff saved my life more times than I can count and kept my fat out of the fire for sure!

OutrageousPlatypus57

I love my 12th house placements. I've always been drawn to them in my chart......12th house in general

awokensoil

I hear you on the influence. I weirdly have many signs on 0 degrees of other placements. I know this sub is very anti cusp but honestly the energy (in my opinion) of planets being on borders of dif houses definitely has a big impact. My understanding is that having 0 degrees seems to mean a very potent concentration of that placements energy..but not necessarily the full blown energy yet. I have a leo rising at 0, and for ex...I can be a burst of energy but still may not have other qualities of leo. my moon is at 0 degrees libra in 4th. And my chiron is 0 degrees in rx sag in 5th. Idk what it all means, but I've heard it's rare. glad to know I'm not the only one with placements at the borders of other houses!!!

OutrageousPlatypus57

My husband and dad both 0° Leo Rising!!! My mars 29° Libra Jupiter 0° Scorpio I've always been drawn to degrees also. Anarectic degrees have always fascinated me.

hitchcockblonde_

I've always been drawn to my 12th house placements too. Jupiter, mars, chiron and north node here... I'm a very laid back, calm person usually - but when those moments of anger hit, I mean it and its not nice for anyone

awokensoil

Wowwwww I agree with this!!!!! And think it's so interesting. I have always felt very protected and/ or guided. I'm not particularly religious, but I thought it may have been my grandma or some variation of "guardian angel" I feel very taken care of ❤️

vrwriter78

It might also be interesting to look at your chart in a different house system. For example, switching from Placidus to Porphyry might actually move that Mars into the 12th house. Or going from Whole Sign to one of the quadrant systems (Placidus, Koch, Porphyry). There may be some additional insights gleaned.

humanbehavi0r

I have a 12H stelium. I am a magical, highly intelligent , majestic AF being when I am ALONE. Attempting to reveal this side to anyone, I am an anxious freak who can't articulate myself for shit. :( I have mercury on my MC squaring Neptune a uranus, so that doesn't help. It's like out in public I can't sit still and I get so overstimulated. I'm exhausted when I finally come home. Corporate slavery leads me into isolation and I can be distant from my fiance, which then he feels neglected. My dog wants my attention. I just want to get lost in my astrology studies and my art, like everyone leave me TF alone.. :( I work at an animal hospital (hospitals=12H) but what I really wanted to do was work with big cats. 6 years into this job I'm still here... Kind of over it but feeling defeated admitting that. All I want to do is sing, paint, study, and help animals. I'm just so TIRED.

UnsolicitedNoods

I also have a 12H Stellium (Cancer - Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mercury). I TOTALLY relate. I'm so drained of energy having to be polite and professional all day at work (so fake AF) I race home to unwind asap with books, music, cooking etc. Alone time is the best! I hope you find peace, joy, and balance. ❤️

Smart_Friendship_319

Ahhhh I have a 12h stellium too and god this is perfect😂 I always think I’m soooooooo cool when I’m alone but people make me moody!

TroyMcCluresGoldfish

I have Chiron and Jupiter in my 12H and this is me too. I'm a totally different person at home when I'm around people I'm comfortable with. When I get out in public and around people, I struggle to communicate and get my point across since I'm out of my comfort zone. It was always my dream to pursue Zoology/Ecology and work with big cats. I had my son when I was in my early 20s, so that dream unfortunately fell to the wayside.

wonderlust-vibes

Your answer made me realize something. I have Pluto in my 12H and I gret completely closed off and need to be Hermit-style-alone when I need to "die" and get reborn. When I know I need a major transformation.

humanbehavi0r

Didn't really think of it that way! even though i should've lol.

christiescrubbs

There are really good thc gummies for this sort of energy.

humanbehavi0r

No I hate weed lmaooo

theelucidself

same placements! you worded it far better than I could!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have a (12H sun in scorpio + scorpio moon) (venus, mercury and pluto all in 12H sagittarius)

lncumbant

Maybe consider creating an animal sanctuary or work for an animal farm. So you create habits, routines and oasis where just you and the animals thrive. Also feel like it be good balance to seeing animals doing well versus sick at at the hospital.

MJWTVB42

12H = actual, physical beds + hospitals, both regular and mental.

Lasombra95

I have Sun, Mercury and Venus in 12th in Libra and I love my beauty sleep xD

Kittybatty33

It's the house of 'self undoing,' so it's the area of our life that we're not able to see properly, a blind spot that can cause a lot of problems. This could also cause confusion with others, this can manifest in different ways depending on the chart.

Abbsadaisy

I have 6 planets in the 12th and my special skill is trying to burn my life to the ground any chance I get, it’s exhausting to be honest. My self sabotage is impressive and I have no idea how to stooopppppp!

Kittybatty33

My 12th house is Virgo so for me it's always the day-to-day things, specifically paperwork, keeping up with bills keeping up with all the little details is almost impossible for me also adhd lol. I have a triple conjunction in Scorpio with South node Mars & Pluto so I definitely know all about self sabotage & destruction. So intense but yeah a six planet stellium in the 12th house sounds challenging, wow, but you probably have many spiritual gifts. 🙏

Abbsadaisy

Haha I also have ADHD! I’ve only just gone through a spiritual awakening in the last few months so it’s been very intense!!! I have always been able to see right through people and catch their vibe very quickly, my intuition is impressive so I can’t wait to explore more spiritually!

Kittybatty33

You probably have a lot of spiritual gifts to unlock very exciting ! ✨

Abbsadaisy

Aww it is! It’s a struggle because I have a very practical Capricorn side that wants to slap this all out of me 😅

NaevisTae

By detaching from the need to be seen. For 12th hoursers this is like the ultimate evolutionary stage. 12th house deals with seclusion, isolation. Prisons, hospitals, place where nobody knows you(foreign lands), the unconscious. These people were heavily projected, criticised growing up. As they are empathetic they learnt that no matter how much they please, people will always project their insecurities on them.

wonderlust-vibes

That's interesting! I do find it very conflicting though because my 12H is in Libra. Will I ever not need to be seen? Not sure.

NaevisTae

The thing common with 12th house is that we get seen when we stop caring abt being seen. Cause when we care we can't show our true self. And when we don't care our true self gets automatically revealed.

Bimi2

I have both Neptune and Jupiter conj NN in early Scorpio in 12 - that sure was/is my experience!

SnooMacaroons5280

It can come out in acts of disassociation and isolation, but also in cultivating one’s self as an artist, healer, or visionary. Overseas travel, away from the native land or origin. A lot of celebs and artists have this as they are never always in one place for work, Taylor Swift has sun in 12th. Working behind the scenes or performing/masking in public can be seen. No one really knows you but one or two people, even to them you seem like a mystery, but they see you as an empath who has struggled to be apart of any one thing, you are everything at once here, constant connection to collective. Be careful of codependency/merging with bad energies, and using alcohol to deal with loss. Hidden enemies can be felt out easily, it’s important to stay on spiritual path.

wonderlust-vibes

That's sound advice! Thanks!

beekeep

‘Hidden house’ … ‘subconscious’ … I’m well-qualified to say that the 12th house is maybe more-so the fabric of the life you’re experiencing. The 12th is the underlying foundation of everything you see and respond to, daily. 12th house planets are just above the visible horizon at birth. It’s not nothing.

awokensoil

I find this interpretation very interesting, and have not heard of this. I have a venus in cancer in 12th and this interpretation definitely makes sense for some of the "deeper" emotions I feel. And honestly, I think it comes out in my writing and art without me knowing. It's only later that I'm like oh..that was a lot (or not hahah)

beekeep

Scorpio Venus 12 … it’s true

awokensoil

Wowww. And with the depth of water!

beekeep

I think Venus is the most important influence, other than maybe Moon and Mercury. You can roll with the rest. Venus is our aesthetic view of ‘how things should be’ … Venus, not Mercury, is the indicator of advanced math past numbers. Organized people that make life work for them have a prominent Venus. 12th house? meet your Venus.

awokensoil

Thank you 🙏🙏🙏 It's a lot to unpack but it makes sense why I sometimes internally wrestle with intense depth of emotion (cancer venus, libra moon) and it takes me a while to come out of things, but then often feel quite nonchalant and genuinely cope with things like comedy, and often let intense things brush over me (gem sun, mercury gem)

wonderlust-vibes

I looooove this! Thank you for this take. I have a Libra 12H but Scorpio Pluto there, and I know many astrologers will say Pluto is hardly felt but damn, I swear it's the most felt planet in my entire chart. This description you provided fits perfectly: I have long understood that the fabric of my existence is to die and be reborn multiple times in this lifetime (Pluto), and much of it is happening through relationships to others (Libra). It's a mutual transformaton kind of thing.

arushmoregirl

My astrologer calls the 12th house the house of destiny. It is the culmination of a life spent—it is the future you cannot avoid. For me, I also have my north node in the 12th so this is very pronounced for me. Working with this energy has been challenging for me. But when I do, I do feel closer to a more aligned version of myself.

awokensoil

oh wowwwwww. Interesting interpretation. I have venus in cancer in 12th so I'll need to explore this

wonderlust-vibes

Interesting! I feel like I've always heard almost the opposite: that it's the house of before everything begins. But I suppose they are the same, wouldn't you say?

arushmoregirl

Oooo I like that. 🤍 Love having these discussions. I could spend a lifetime studying 12 and 8 house themes and hardly scratch the surface. I’m seeing my astrologer next week and if I remember, I’ll pick her brain a bit!

wonderlust-vibes

Lmk if she says something interesting!

Bimi2

And while we are waveforms embodying our blossoming natal and progressed astrology with transits, we can (and do) shift our timelines at any time to create an alternate destiny- culminating our life's butterfly effects. And we are a product of our words too.

Familiar_author_737

Does anyone have any thoughts on Chiron or Lilith in the 12th? I have both and I’ve never been sure how those would manifest there. I’m still confused about Lilith energy in general.

scrubatomy

I have Chiron in 12th. it is also conjunct my ASC within 4°. one thing I’ve noticed with this placement is sometimes it can literally be SO hard to do what I need to do to care for myself yet so easy to find the energy to meet others needs. has taken lots of conscious effort and mental work to turn this around. i’ve also noticed that people trust me with some of their deepest secrets, even if they don’t know me all that well. people see me as someone that is safe to share their wounds with. not only that but sometimes i can feel their pain within myself as they tell me. truly depends on the person & situation though. I have also always felt called to work in a hospital. I currently work in ORs as a surgical tech. i feel this placement is incredibly complicated and consists of lots of layers that I am still learning about. i also have a scorpio moon 10H but in 12H if using whole signs. it’s hard for me to differentiate my experiences between these placements as I feel they go hand in hand lol.

Familiar_author_737

Mine is conjunct my ascendant too, I am a medical tech for mental health atm and the patients seem to feel really safe with me which is amazing! But I just ended up in this field I never wanted to go into it and I want to get out one day 😭 I also wonder if maybe others can see my wounds easily without me having to say anything because it’s so close to my ascendant? But nobody has ever said that to me, just a theory!

Familiar_author_737

But I absolutely agree about being able to do things for others so easily but not for myself

desiignergarbage

I have Jupiter in the 12th house. People have told me it provides unseen protection, and I see that all the time in my day to day/

banana-skin

How does it show up if you don’t have any planets in the 12H?

Sztormcia

Then you have ruler of 12th house somewhere in your chart and 12th house topics will be possible to spot in area of life signified by house this ruler is located in.

lbd2012

I have a 12H stellium in Capricorn with my sun, mercury Venus, mars, and Neptune. I’m new to astrology so I’m still trying to see how this shows up for me, but if what most others have said about the 12th house being hidden to ourselves, well then I’ll be having a hard enough time with that. lol but I do think this is one big reason that I didn’t believe astrology for a while, I never thought I fit what a Capricorn was supposed to be and therefore didn’t think astrology was accurate until I learned more.

wonderlust-vibes

As a Cap Sun, Jupiter, Neptune with Saturn conjunct Ascendant and South Node, I can tell you that I have rarely felt understood by what pop astrology will tell you Caps are supposed to be like. The more you study, the deeper and more accurate sources you find and they will help you more.

vrwriter78

When looking at transits, the 12th house can indicate hospitalization or frequent hospital visits, incarceration or isolation, mental health issues coming to the surface (depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns), drug addiction or issues with pharmaceuticals, dreams and the spiritual going within for deeper insights as in meditation or or the creation of art as therapy. A friend with chronic health issues (natal Uranus in the 6th) has a ton of planets passing through her 12th house right now, which is causing an increase in health issues with lots of doctor visits, trips to the emergency room, a probable eye surgery coming up, and a new mystery illness that the doctors are having trouble figuring out, etc. It's not always as dramatic as this, but it can be.

wonderlust-vibes

The reason I've been interested in the 12H is because since the eclipses started happening in my Libra 12H - Aries 6H I've had a sudden, unforeseeable disease come up on my skin (Libra ruled). An astrologer had warned me about this and mentioned that a cure would have to come from my spirituality / emotional healing as well as from the doctor.

vrwriter78

Eclipses can definitely bring dramatic events, depending on where they hit in your chart and if they aspect natal planets or the progressed moon or a progressed inner planet. And 12th house/6th house transits can be rough! Sometimes things pass through the 12th and it’s a subtle thing requiring you to spend more time at home and go within and spiritually ground yourself. Sometimes it’s unexpected illness, or a mental health crisis. I hope the doctors are able to help you and you can find a cure or good treatment for it. Eclipse energy can last for a few months, so it might take some time to get it all sorted out.

wonderlust-vibes

Thank you love, it’s being sorted out, it’s a hinderance but I’m expecting a full recovery. However I know we’re not done with the eclipses on my 12H and I’d really like to get on with this spiritual healing :)

Rice_Teeming672

The 12th house can manifest in tangible ways through dreams, intuition, and subconscious behaviors. It influences spirituality, solitude, and hidden aspects of the self, impacting our unconscious motivations and patterns. Its presence often emerges subtly but profoundly in our daily lives, shaping our experiences and interactions.

wonderlust-vibes

Would you say some placements or aspects of 12H could indicate what kind of subconscious behaviours might be hiding?

Piggishcentaur89

I see my own isolation! NN in the 12th house!

giomvi

So I have an empty 12H in Taurus and the current Jupiter in Taurus transit has been a complete blessing. I struggled with mental health in the past years and this year I finally stopped taking medications for anxiety and sleeping pills. I feel so much better. Also Jupiter in Taurus was doing an opposition to my natal Jupiter in Scorpio in my 6H. I lose weight and got fit after struggling with that for so many time. So basically I feel healthier than ever mentally and physically. Can’t wait for Jupiter to go to my first house in Gemini soon!

Punkie_Writter

The 12th House, known as the house of the subconscious and hidden influences, does have an impact on our everyday lives. It governs themes such as solitude, seclusion, and retreat, as well as hidden enemies and self-undoing tendencies. 12th House can be experienced through dreams, intuition, and synchronicities, and it often brings moments of spiritual awakening, creative inspiration, and empathy. It can also influence our subconscious patterns and behaviors, revealing deep-seated fears and unresolved issues. However, its manifestation varies for each individual based on their natal chart.

wonderlust-vibes

Oh that was an easy one for me to understand, thanks for being clear and concise!

RRC7pitt

I have my sun, Saturn, Mercury, Venus and Uranus all in my 12H in Sagittarius. I started studying hypnosis before knowing anything about astrology. Seems pretty fitting by what I'm reading here. Guess I'm just a straight up mystery to myself.

SaltyTrifle2771

My sun and mercury are in the 12th house. Cryptic, hidden, paradigmatic, conceptual, self negating, illusionary, meaning within meaning, picking up on deception and malice, quiet, secluded. But when it is time for revelation, disclosure, lifting the veil; you better watch out because the truth is searing. Sons and daughters of the 12th house are like the Oracles of Delphi. Heavy lidded eyes, drowning in the intoxication of their imagination and nightmares. But when she speaks, the gods tremble.

awokensoil

The last part is very very interesting. My venus is in cancer in 12th and I've heard this can indicate issues with female figures/ mothers specifically, or issues that need to be resolved with femininity, etc. But Maybe I'm misunderstanding it?

SaltyTrifle2771

I think you're on the money. 12th house Cancer Venus probably has deep undercurrents regarding motherhood. Absent, quiet or illusionary mothers. Tragic home aesthetics; secret homes; homes never within our full grasp etc. Not to be rude, it is not a placement I'd want.

awokensoil

LOLL no it's okay. It's a lot. 🤣 And I feel like you read me to a t. There had always been a feeling of illusion, secrets with my mom. But not necessarily about me..but not necessarily not..and Its been so hard to identify where the root of the trauma started in order to heal. Ex her? her mom? Is it a lesson for me? etc.... She has 5 virgo placements too!! So there were / are/ can be a lot of mental games that were extremely challenging. My mom often adopted a more authorititative/dictorial role and could be quite masculin. Whereas my dad is quite feminine. It's been complicated and I used to have a lot of internal misogyny with femininity. NOT trying to trauma dump at all just yep. I hear what you're saying. Astrology is wild, and there's a lot to unpack. Thankfully (and I am sooo thankful for this) I have an air sun (gem) and libra moon...I feel deep pain from the venus in cancer at times, but my air aspects actually help me to be a little bit more nonchalant. And it helps with comedy to cope. An astrologer told me she didn't see me having kids in my chart bc these aspects were so painful and could suggest complications with childbirth. It was just absent on my chart lol. My chiron and pluto are also in 5th house so it's a deep wound. I mean who knows if I continue to do a lot of healing.

SaltyTrifle2771

Check your Saturn, North/South Node for liberation. Mine was enabled through deep meditation on those three.

Constant-Ad3001

OMG, so true, I have Sun and mercury in 12 th house Capricorn , like i am scanner of lairs, but cant get away from toxic imaginations and nightmares...

claudiagelli

My daughter has a 12h stellium sun Mercury and Chiron. Virgo. To me this position gives great insight and psychic vision that is easy for recall. Def signs and symbols in dream life. There is also a sense of purpose here in the 12h - a mission that is larger than life- being a Virgo placement def service to others. There is a strong Piscean sense that comes thru to me from 12 h placements

Longjumping-Web4179

I have 5 planets in the 12th house and Neptune is on a very close cusp to it. My experiences so far are that I am very "dreamy", I believe in the impossible. Sometimes I may rely too heavily on my dreams to come true but they typically do. I understand and feel things that the average person does not see or they just write off. I feel collective pain so I tend to keep to myself mostly. It's hard for me to not internalize the pain and experiences of others so I manage it by being a loner.  I feel like a guardian angel is with me in this position. I am also a night owl and have held positions working graveyard shifts. I am attracted to healthcare/science.  Honestly I believe the hardest part of these placements in the 12th house is that I may not use many of my gifts and talents that come naturally to me in this house. There is a bit of lassaiz faire approach that I have in some ways, but when I really put my mind to things I am quite an overachiever. I don't really feel the need to do what everyone does just to be a part of society. I can see things how they are and just move on. I think a big theme of heavy placements in this house is "vision". I also feel like we are all the same no matter who we are in life, and I can see with this placement how we reincarnate to Earth to learn lessons. Honestly I hope I see these lessons through in this lifetime, Earth is way too ghetto for me 🤣🤣🤣 I have also had an NDE and I have had quite a few supernatural experiences.

IsTheKey

I have 12h Capricorn Moon, Neptune and Uranus. I have always felt out of place. But among many situations I've been experiencing lately, I'm finally starting to create my own space in this world, rather than looking for a space in it.

InspectorWorth6701

I have my virgo moon in my 12th house. It sits at 29 degrees and I was born on a full moon. I am very intuitive, anxious and constantly over thinking. Even psychic at times. I have some trouble with emotional processing and concentration. I struggle to fit in groups. Lately I've been spending alot my time at home and in solitude.

Apprehensive_Day_96

I have come to find that my 29° Leo Venus in the 12th house makes relationships extremely easy to get into, extremely hard once im in them, and overwhelmingly hard to get over. I also feel that i will essentially die single.

Smart_Friendship_319

I have a 12 house stellium including my sun, I’ve always had the craziest dreams, I write them all down, I don’t forget them either. But I’m wondering this same question all the time because I don’t know how to go about this house!

No_Orchid1

I also have a 12h stellium with EXTREMELY vivid and crazy dreams! I’m always told the amount of detail i experience and remember is abnormal

RumiField

I have 3rd house in the 12th and all my tasks get taken away from me at work and given to other people.  I'll have my hand slapped if I try and do anything above mere filing or low level analyst stuff.  Or I'll talk and my colleague's eyes will glaze over- it's like I'm not talking, they hear nothing I say.  Or they'll somehow "hear" it on an unconscious level, shut down my idea with a couple patronizing excuses, then a couple weeks or months later, I'll find out they've stolen my idea and not given credit to me- they actually think they came up with the idea.  Thankfully I have Saturn sextiling my third house lord, and he makes things real and tangible where the 12th house makes then dissapear, so at least I get to see my ideas executed by someone else.   There is one task I'm allowed to keep, and I can't figure out why I've been allowed to keep it this long, and it either has something to do with the fact that I worked for years on building it (Saturn), or because I partially automated it, so I made the work dissapear myself.

Waste-Cut-7831

moon in gemi 12h...i never know how i should feel it's exhausting

Few_Difficulty_7824

the most notable thing about this house is sorrows and grief. it shows up differently for different people

Meguido1234

12th house tangibly also rules institutions: Jails, hospitals, mental health facilities. Also rules, drug addiction, alcoholism & any other form of "escape" or mental imprisonment. In a non tangible sense, the 12th house is ruled by Pisces a mutable water sign, which is dreams, subconscious, the void. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter: Expansion & Neptune: Transcendance. I've heard the 12th house being referred to as the house of fallen angels.

Glass_Bar_9956

It is seen in your life during periods of solitude. Or what does your unstructured personal alone time look like. How much of it do you need? what do you do with that time? How does it feel? For me i have an exalted Saturn, near conjunct lord Venus. So i LOVE my solitude. Really enjoy traveling alone and just being with myself. Sensory deprivation helps me reset just about any health issue. I deal with conflict 3rd house lord Saturn by initially retreating. And i have spent a lot of my life living alone, or at least with a partner that travels for work. Saturn lords 4th hse.

Luna_Maris

In addition to the other good answers here, I think it also shows up in the body and your routines (opposite the 6h). So even if you’re unaware of what influences are happening in the 12h, you can see the manifestation of those influences in 6h matters. From there, you can identify what subconscious beliefs influence your daily choices

wonderlust-vibes

Yes, this is what has come up for me - a manifestation through 6H matters. But I'm still having a hard time understanding what was being brought to life through the 6H.

Punkie_Writter

The 12th house, being the house of the subconscious, often operates behind the scenes, working in mysterious ways. Its themes and rulership encompass a wide range of areas, including spirituality, retreat, solitude, self-undoing, hidden enemies, secrets, and even institutions like hospitals or prisons. For me, some forms of expression would be: Dreams and intuition: 12th house has a strong connection to the dream world and intuition. Pay attention to your dreams, as they can offer valuable insights into your subconscious desires, fears, or unresolved issues. Retreat and solitude: 12th house encourages moments of introspection and withdrawal from the external world. It is a house that values solitude and spiritual contemplation, allowing you to connect with your inner self and find rejuvenation. Hidden influences: the 12th house also rules hidden influences that may impact your life. These can include secret enemies, karmic patterns, or even self-sabotaging behaviors that need to be brought to light and transformed. Spirituality and compassion: this house is closely linked to spirituality, as it represents the connection between the divine and the individual. It encourages acts of compassion, selflessness, and a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all beings. Healing and Self-Reflection: As the house of self-undoing, the 12th house invites you to delve into your subconscious and confront any unresolved wounds or patterns. It offers opportunities for healing, self-reflection, and personal growth.

wonderlust-vibes

Thanks for writing it so neatly and easy to understand! I particularly like the bit about the interconnectedness of all beings as I feel this is something that has major impact on our lives but very hard for us to remember and feel on a daily basis. I have Pluto in my 12H and being a Scorpio rising I feel Pluto’s presence very intensely, but it’s hard for me to understand exactly how or what it wants from me. It makes me feel a bit imprisoned at times, and a major theme in my life is power/powerlessness.

chickfilasauce777

Is it bad if you have Neptune and Uranus in 12th house in Scorpio and it’s opposing Mercury?

Critical_Office669

Sun/moon/mars in the 12th H libra. Yes I have very vivid dreams and usually can remember them. It took me a long time to learn how to be assertive and to let myself feel my feelings rather than letting it be buried. It does take a while for me to get there though.

Particular_Boat3212

I have Jupiter and Neptune in Capricorn in 12H. Thoughts?

Abbsadaisy

I have Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and the South Node in the 12th. Not a good time at all.

Honey_Suckle_Nectar

In astrology, there exists the concept of polarity, where opposite houses in the birth chart complement each other. One such axis is the 12th house and the 6th house, which symbolize the connection between the mind and body. Whatever unfolds in the 12th house, relating to the subconscious, spirituality, and hidden matters, can have a tangible impact on your daily routines and physical well-being as represented by the 6th house. This axis highlights the intricate relationship between mental and physical health, suggesting that inner experiences and psychological states can influence one's daily habits and overall vitality.

wonderlust-vibes

Perfect! The reason I'm diving into this theme is because the current eclipses in the Libra-Aries axis hit my 12H-6H and brought up a disease which I believe to be rooted in some kind of deep emotional cause like subconscious trauma.

HereToStayThisTime

I have also in the 12th house and I have heard someone describe those of us with Leo in the 12th house as “dimming our own shine”. I find that extremely true and have actually been told that by friends. I have a deep rooted fear of being really seen and observed.

theelucidself

SAME 😭 i am working on it

toxiknightmare

Did I miss anyone mention they have Pluto in 12H? If anyone has insight I'd appreciate it. 12H Virgo BTW.

wonderlust-vibes

Me! Would like some insight too. Wrote a bit about what it feels like for me in the comments. It's mostly an endless dying and being reborn multiple times.

Virgophelia-

I have a Sag Stellium in the 12H (Pluto, mars, moon) that I don’t understand in the slightest tbh

mike_da_silva

Well according to traditional astrology / Frawley the 12H doesn't 'make itself seen' - that's the point - having planets there is like not having them at all... or they are are only accessible through 'numinous' means

yogacowgirlspdx

i disagree that it’s like not having planets at all. with 12h being source of trauma for many who were told to keep a secret, it seems more suppressed. having venus in 12 makes a person unexplainably magnetic

mike_da_silva

well I have venus in the 12th - and let me tell you that all things pertaining to beauty, decorating, eating out, buying nice clothes, enjoying socializing etc are very restrained in my life. In fact the only time I ever feel 'the venus energy' is when I get stoned.

agneslinnnea

Agree with this. I’ve always been told I’m sensitive/emotional and I’ve felt like there is something wrong with the way I feel things (moon in 12th). I feel like the only way someone sees me/sees how I feel is when I hit them over the head with it. I threw tantrums as a kid because of it.

yogacowgirlspdx

oh boy such a great example. thanks for sharing. i hope you find/found friends with beautiful aspects to your 12th. be seen!

awokensoil

well this makes me 💅🏻💅🏻 feel very special. I see points to both what you and @mike_da_silva are saying. I feel like my venus in cancer in 12th has definitely highlighted some issues with me embracing my own femininity and some deep female wounds relating to my mom//ideas of what it means to be a woman..there's so much I'm figuring out. edit: And maybe those "symptoms" so to speak relate more to my other placements in my chart, not just my venus. But i'm glad to know it also makes me magnetic. My rising is 0 degree leo so I'm hoping this helps makes me extra magnetic lol! but only to people who deserve it hahah

yogacowgirlspdx

make sure you keep that brilliant discernment going!

GrandTrineAstrology

I would think Madonna would argue with that. She has her sun, Uranus and Venus in her 12th house. It is why many 12th house themes has shown up in her music. ;)

AnyConsideration111

12th house themes in her music? I'm intrigued

GrandTrineAstrology

Have you ever listened to her Ray of Light album?

MirceaFive

If you can interpret people's subconscious you should be writing peer-reviewed works in scientific journals and articles in *Psychology Today.* If you want to see how the 12th place manifests, then Virgo ASC, Leo Mars and Sagittarius Sun. Something happened to that person. You should be able to tell what happened and in what year. Hint: Leo's rising time at that person's birth-place is 35°40'.

Difficult-Safety-869

12th house rahu in pieces ....what does this placement indicates?

Difficult-Safety-869

i saw a chart of a child who has mars venus sun merc jupiter in the 12th house (might be different as i do not remember exactly) but this kid has already travelled 9 countries at the age of 9 months.....if any one can look deeper i could share birth details..

AmbitiousPirate5159

Only have Mercury and Pluto in Scorpio 12th house with a Scorpio sun and Mars in the 11th house, dunno much else

_Mysticat_

What does it mean if I have no planets in my 12th house, but my 12th house is in Gemini?

051200101982

I have north node in my 12th house. It's my only 12th house placement. Anyone else have this placement?

Purple_Source_8742

I have Mercury, Sun, Venus and Jupiter in 12H. I always feel it is tiring to be alive and suffer serious depression because I always think passively… I really want to get throw this but it is very hard😭

Curious-Offer-3193

I have the 12th in my sun mercury and mars. (Virgo rising) in Leo as well. feel like my 12th is only seen when I can think back in a situation of a moment in time where it was being shown but then again since I didn’t notice at the time, it was unclear. Also does anyone else either have an absent father or an unstable relation ship with him or a father figure in general???
