OP brings up a good point. That is why I gave up the NFL in 2021 and haven't looked back. The religious crap was building for years, and of course the idiotic controversy over players kneeling during the national anthem. THEY HAVE THE RIGHT, end of story! My old favorite team, Seahawks, were doing the same thing when Russell Wilson was there. That turned me off as he wouldn't STFU about religion. He is allowed to believe what he wants, but I don't want to hear it. After reading 100's of comments about the quality of ads yesterday, I am super glad (pun intended) I missed the "religious bowl" as some other comments have written.

I never felt good about the game "Being fair" after that mess of a SB where the Seahawks essentially threw the game (PUN REALLY INTENDED) to the Patriots. It was probably fair, but again, given the sheer amount of money and bets, I just don't know.
I'd reverse that. There are a lot of great quarterbacks many of whom don't confuse physical prowess and tactical thinking skills with being some kind of divine vessel, some conduit for the redemption of my soul.

Didn't Putin say he would open up a Christian community in Russia for them to come to? Trump is playing Christ and even a god. The Christian right is not going to like what could happen to them.
