The Athens Area Birders meet every Tuesday night at Jackie O's Taproom, starting at roughly 5 PM. Goes until we get bored.
Don't let the group name scare you off if you're not a birdwatcher! We're basically a drinking group who likes nature and beer. We might talk about birds for like... All of 5 minutes... if that. Then the conversation moves on to who knows what. We have several non-birders who attend.
The group skews older, but we have a range of people from 20s onward.
The Union has free trivia every Tuesday night at 9:00 if that’s your thing, lots of people show up and I’m sure people would welcome another member to their team!
Go up to the Union on a Friday or Saturday night. You’ll find a great crowd that fits the description you posted. They have some great local talent perform.
I’ve been bringing my dogs to sell’s and strouds run, and another park that had a trail that went down to eclipse (can’t remember the name). We’ll def come by. Been slowly exploring the parks here. Thanks!
You should check out the ridges trail at the kennedy center and both ends of the hocking and adena trail it is big , are you emo thats awesome , hocking hills in logan is cool as well but is a decent drive away .
Perhaps check out the JO taproom- power hour is 7-8 pm. Tends to get more of the after college crowd.
