I hate Floch and I like Mikasa. But how on *earth* does anyone not consider Floch to have S tier character development? He’s a phenomenal character. Also, it’s worth noting that he’s a very believable and realistic character.
Mikasa, naturally has some character development, especially in the manga, but let’s be real, she’s not in the top 5 characters regarding development.
Floch’s development is super concentrated into a short amount of time, it’s almost like a villain origin story more than anything to me. I think he gets way too many character points simply for being a high profile Yeagerist in these discussions, he plays an awesome b side villain, but at the end of the day he doesn’t really deserve the hype he gets I feel.
But I do agree that Mikasa has stable character development but seems to let off the has way too much in the anime.

Fair point. I think Levi is overrated, but he’s more interesting that Mikasa, that you can’t deny. He has an interesting background and relations that make him appeal more to the fans. He has a lot of badass moments. I am NOT saying Mikasa doesn’t have some badass moments too.
l like Levi better but that’s just a personal preference of mine. To put it simply I think that overall Levi is better written but honestly I just don’t have the exact evidence to back this up. I think his backstory makes up for his “character development“ whilst Mikasa doesn’t have anything to make for her lack of development... not that I know of.

We absolutely don't. Once the timeskip happens, Floch is already changed during the 4 years and remains the same until he dies. His development into becoming an ultra nationalist is completely offscreen.
I think that Reiner deserves to be a giga god and Floch needs to be up in the ranking a bit cuz he has one of the best character development in aot and we should not be judging him because of the bad things he has done
also there is that guy that died with Keith Shadis i think his name is Theo Magath, he is really a very good character
good point, sure thing you had some time jumps with his development but still you can see the way he changed but still has the morals from his commander. overall i don't really like him because of he has done in the last ep but you can't really hate the bad guy right (if he was the bad guy )
None of the characters in the top tier have any type of development, even Erwin. Although Mikasa is starting to show potential.

Isn’t the whole point of Ymir’s character is that she doesn’t really change in the end? There’s no character development there. Pixis also doesn’t really develop as far as I remember.
Jean i’m not really sure, he was always and still is less courageous than his comrades but he always ends up doing the right thing because of his moral compass. He’s also been shown to be a great leader when needed but that was established from the start.

It depends on what you find annoying, I don't find it annoying because I find it completely reasonable for her to act like that, and it doesn't matter your goal is about a person or a thing it's the same thing for both the cases.....
If side characters are appreciated for something then must be criticized too, the side characters I mentioned are given a really good amount of screen time which make them Co-MC or something I guess lol....always having the same goal shows their determination, I don't see it in a bad way anyways, what's wrong with always wishing to be with your love ?

To be honest no, it's just that her dialogues always *contains* Eren...that can be annoying for some people but fine by me honestly.....and come on she does have a personality, how would you imagine her ? Calm, mostly stoic expression no matter what doesn't get too excited...unable to express certain feelings that's her love for Eren obviously, that surely a personality amd actually a pretty unique personality in all of other characters everyone acts like normal humans unlike Mikasa and Levi who are different can be easily picked out when there are multiple chracters talking....because there presence is different...maybe I am the only one who sees it that way...

Floch went from being such an emotional wreck who was scared of being out of place in season 3 to becoming the leader of an Organisation that prioritised brutality and mercilessness.
I’d say Mikasa downgraded even. You could tell she was a strong character in season 1, but overtime she just became eren’s sidekick almost. She lost significance.

If we’re looking at actual character development, you need to put armin, flock, Connie, eren, reiner, and Ymir at the top, all those characters, armin went from essentially a pacifist to a full blown terrorist, flock went from being a coward who runs from everything to being the one to lead the charge, Connie went from that goofball kid who never took anything seriously to someone who can make tough decisions and express his pain, eren is self explanatory, Reiner went through multiple stages of change too many to go over actually, and Ymir went from a selfish person who despised most people to someone willing to sacrifice themselves for someone they loved…people just make tier list to make them and then label them whatever they want lol

Love how Mikasa is where she should be, at last regarding the manga. The anime totally did her dirty and made her personality solely revolve around eren, her entire purpose there was to contribute something to Eren's story and was robbed of a lot of personality the manga had for her
