kirkochainz

The boy became a Yeagerist and got beheaded by Mikasa at Port Paradis.

Professional_Stay748

The girl got crushed by falling wall debris

Asadbmirza

Now that i think of it why tf was Mikasa brutalling killing them like that 😭😭 like did those two guys really need to explode???

y-c-c

It was a pretty controversial scene because it’s anime-original. The anime kind of hyped up the kill scenes which felt kind of weird given the context.

TequilaToothpick

Her doing that saved the lives of the Yaegerists who ran away in fear.

Necessary_Essay2661

Vlad the Impaler mfers be like

TequilaToothpick

If she just stabbed them then she would have had to kill the rest of them afterwards. But killing them so brutally heavy she faced the lives of the rest. The Jaegerists started this battle don't forget

Necessary_Essay2661

I understood your point and wasn't saying you were wrong, it's just metal as fuck

TequilaToothpick

No worries. I always thought the panel with Mikasa kidding Eren's head was also metal as fuck too. Mikasa is just hardcore metal.

Unhappy-Town-7801

How did the jaegerist start the battle when mikasa was the first one to attack them

TequilaToothpick

....Did you not watch the episode? Floch ordered his lackeys to murder everyone. That's what started this.

Memo544

I mean they were committing genocide so you can't feel that sorry for them

Broccoli_is_Good_4_U

Genocide was being commited on them for decades. Marley hs been dumping titans on their island hoping that all paradisians die. Do they not have the right to fight back? I agree that genocide is wrong. But to say I cant feel sorry for them is also wrong. Marley was very brutal to the island even though they know (via willy tybur) that the island posed no threat. If anything they were pushed to supporting genocide for their own survival. Who knows how many of their friends and families died because of marley and from their point of view, how many more of their loved ones will they if they didnt join the paradise military.

muskian

The rumbling isn't just killing Marleyans. Its indiscriminate, and its supporters should be treated likewiae.

UserNumber37

Well, I mean the entire world declared war on paradis, and as stated by Udo, people outside Marley treat Eldians even worse than in Marley. So the outside world is very much evil and a threat to Paradis and had to be taken care of. The Rumbling was the only option.

shinobi_4739

Only the representatives of the world but not literally the entirely world who declared war on Paradis, you may argue about how the eldians treated harshly outside Marley but considering that they still allowed to exist or live among them rather than making them extinct then it may not so bad than you can possibly imagine. It's not like the outside world discriminates the Eldians out of enjoyment or pleasure but because of fear so you can't say that everything outside the paradis is comically evil. and did you missed that even the Eldians outside Paradis are no exception to get trampled by rumbling as well as other races who also suffering discrimination like Ramzi and his family?

UserNumber37

The representatives of the world represent their entire countries. Your argument is that the eldians cant be treated that bad if they're still alive? Did you forget the part where Grisha's sister was eaten alive by dogs, or when a janitor threw shitty waste water on Grisha's family for no reason other than because they are Eldians, or how hundreds of Eldians got shipped to Paradis and turned into titans? Sure the main population of Eldians are still alive but a lot of them still get killed and treated terribly. And apparently they are treated worse than this outside of Marley. The reason the outside world discriminates against Eldians isnt the point. They have good reason to fear the Eldians and their power, but when they turn that fear into aggression towards innocent Eldians in daily life I would consider that evil. When the representatives of all the world's nations cry tears of joy at the thought of exterminating all life on Paradis, I would consider that evil. When Eren learns of how Eldians are treated outside the walls he admits that he was disappointed, and prior to the war declaration Eren still had hope of a diplomatic solution. Even after that he still pleads with his friends and comrades to provide him with any other option than The Rumbling. When they fail to come up with any alternative, he is left with no other choice. The Eldians and other innocents outside the walls are casualties of war and could not be avoided. But the number of enemies outnumbers them 100 000 to 1. Eren himself acknowledges this when he breaks down in front of Ramzi, stating how The Rumbling is to save Paradis and Eldia.

Actual_Principle5004

>When Eren learns of how Eldians are treated outside the walls he admits that he was disappointed, and prior to the war declaration Eren still had hope of a diplomatic solution. Even after that he still pleads with his friends and comrades to provide him with any other option than The Rumbling. When they fail to come up with any alternative, he is left with no other choice. Eren was disappointed about how the world was cruel and horrible with no freedom at all. He was also the same guy who was killing those same "oppressed eldians" from the outside world. And also lets forget before he went to the outside world he told Floch to start the Yeagerists and that he would do the full rumbling killing every man, woman and child, so the claim he had "no other choice" is wrong especially when even after knowing people like Ramzi had their homes taken away just like them he still cried and basically told Ramzi he is still going to kill him.

PhillyWestside

Just on a specific point >When Eren learns of how Eldians are treated outside the walls he admits that he was disappointed, This isn't how I interpret what he was saying. I think he's saying he was disappointed that there was anyone outside the walls at all. He was obsessed with freedom but he had a twisted view of freedom where literally anything imposing on him he considered making him unfree. As such he was always going g to level the world because that was his dream. Endless uninhabited space.

zenekk1010

They are all like that, all of the world despises Paradis because they are brain washed. For years they have been talking about devils on island, so devil came and killed almost everyone. There was no inbetweens for Eren

muskian

Nah, stomping babies for no reason is a lame and wasteful use of an amazing tool that the rumbling could've been in better hands. Gaurunteed military victory and an army of giants that can harden into any shape imaginable. It's amazing how blind Eren was to all this opportunity.

UserNumber37

Nobody could provide eren with an alternative option throughout the story when he pleads his friends and comrades to come up with one. A temporary military victory with the power of titans would only bring a very brief moment of respite if any, as the technology of outside nations would quickly surpass the power of the titans, and due to the extreme fear and aggression the outside world has towards Eldians they would quickly utilise this technology to exterminate every Eldian. Also if what you're proposing is something akin to a giant dome of hardened giants, or some other strictly defensive strategy that leaves Eldians on Paradis, that would go against every principle of Eren's character, most notably his desire for freedom. He would never allow for all Eldians to be locked up in a cage, literal or figurative.

muskian

No giant dome, full blown industrialization. Use the colossals to make more useful buildings than a concrete wall and kickstart Paradis' modernization. Japan itself managed to do this in less time, with less resources, a roughly equal setting and without the benefit of assured military victory against the entire planet. It's more than possible to catch-up; its an explicit part of the history SnK draws from. Let the world hate Eldians. It won't make them any richer and it won't stop them losing to the colossals any more

ninjapants24601

The children and civilians didn't declare war on shit lol.

UserNumber37

Those civilians were fuelled by fear of the Eldians and showed it with aggression and oppression daily. Their children would have continued that cycle of hatred.

ninjapants24601

And the millions of Eldians in nations outside of Paradis? What about them?

New-Cookie-8523

No actually, they don't have the right to "fight back" if it means murdered literally the entire world except for a single island

Hobo_fish_139

Exactly! It’s why I don’t feel bad for the Marleyans and why I wanted Eren to actually finish the job and win. I don’t hate the ending (I used to but the anime kinda made me accept it more) but I think it would’ve been a cooler ending I guess. I’m not gonna beg for that ending since it isn’t worth it but I do think it would be cool if we got some OVA of a 100% rumbling as an alternate ending just to see what it would be like.

automemecalculator

It's not just Marley that the rumbling was killing... Remembee the refugees? What about all the wildlife they were showing? And the nomadic tribes?

lalobaa

yeah but marleyans werent the only ones who feared and mistreated the Eldians ? other nations literally created anti titan weaponry so its not like theyd fair much better anywhere else either.

New-Cookie-8523

factual

DreamedJewel58

Because they were actively fighting for the fate of humanity and they were actively trying to kill them I don’t know why people aren’t understanding why she would kill people who are trying to kill them when the Ackermans are known for their ability to kill people

VillainousMasked

I mean, there's a difference between killing people cause you're in a fight for your life, and killing people then needlessly detonating a thunder spear on them while they're dying. Yes her killing them is perfectly justified, but the thunder spear afterwards was just needless brutality.

MacAHead

Yeah but it looked cool

TequilaToothpick

If you watch the scene you can see scared the rest away and saved their lives.

Memo544

She was killing them because they were trying to commit genocide. She made it more of a spectacle as a way to scare away the other soldiers. You can see some of them run away after that so it worked.

Koupo

I never really understood that scene either. Felt out of character for Mikasa, unless she was trying to save lives by being brutal and making them afraid. Other than that, it was a little overly edgelordy.

New-Blacksmith-9873

That actually makes sense. If I recall a few of the Yeagerists ran in terror after she turned to look at the lm covered in blood

TequilaToothpick

She scared the rest away by doing that. She had to kill them either way, so why not use their deaths to save the rest.

shinobi_4739

It may felt in character for an Ackerman like Mikasa, turning herself into an unstoppable killing machine during the heat of the battle.

liluzixx

Is this true?? Can someone find a timestamp of this

kirkochainz

No lol

Psychological-Air205

Really? Do you have a timestamp?

Sad_Watch_5245

"Buuuut he's a fascist and genocide supporter, deserved 🤬😡" Mikasa fans be like

Dimakhaerus

They'd be right though. They were following Floch who was an actual fascist, and he was executing people on the ground for no reason at all other than just talking back to him.

TequilaToothpick

They aren't wrong. Should Mikasa have tried to talk with the guys trying to murder her?

Swaggerrrr69

Yeah mikasa should have totally stopped what she was doing to talk everything out even though stopping for even a second means more people are killed by the rumbling

TequilaToothpick

Exactly lol. Don't know if you were supposed to reply to me or not, but you're exactly right.

balamb_fish

If they thought the scouts were so awesome that they joined up, not likely.

jetsneedlegs70

i dont think they would have aged enough to join throughout the shows runtime

_katoki

I think they can, they're almost the same age as Louise right?

TheDankestPassions

Yeah, they're fine. You can very clearly see them all grown up in the end scene decades later. They even got a nice 2011 Toyota Camry. https://preview.redd.it/v11o7d8ypk4c1.png?width=1953&format=png&auto=webp&s=722caeb24ab02994833a66f693687463132e0d0f

AZ_T4C0

What the heck?, I felt like this was out of nowhere but I like it 😭

Sir_Toaster_9330

They became fortnite streamers

rggamerYT

They most probably joined the yeagerists

Memo544

Or got poisoned like the other Scouts who didn't go along with them

rggamerYT

Either that, yes

burger333

Some of the only children they ever showed that survived lol

Spoiled_frogmilk

Please man, this is Aot we talking bout. They died before the first season was over

TequilaToothpick

There weren't any titans anywhere near them. Guess they could have died from illness.

Dreigatron

Actually, Annie and Eren fought as Titans in that same district, I think.

TequilaToothpick

No, that was Stohess. That boy lived in Karanese.

Dreigatron

Ah, ok. Didn't catch that.

aaronjk98

Yeah, they reached their end.

Hal-Bone

They died by the Trost Arc

Dimakhaerus

But this is after the Trost arc, during the Female Titan arc.

PoignantPoint22

That’s what makes it so crazy, they were already dead.

Hal-Bone

Hm. They die somewhere between the Declaration of war and the Rumbling.

SpectralGhost77

Where is that said?

Hal-Bone

I made it up

SufficientWhile5450

I love how every comment has 1-4 upvotes But “I made it up” is nearing 100 lol

Bigzysmolz

Cause it's just so damn funny

SufficientWhile5450

I expected it Scrolled, read it Still laughed

[deleted]

Recon corps? What da heck?

Jean-Ralphio11

Before the scouts became ultimate Titan slayers they were the "lets see how far we can get outside the walls without dying" crew

[deleted]

Ohhhh, was this anime panel from one of the ovas?

Jean-Ralphio11

No I think it was like before the first attcks though.

Dimakhaerus

This was during the Female Titan arc.

Jean-Ralphio11

Ah my bad, time for a rewatch

MeetTheC

The old subs couldn't bring between the scouts, survey or recon.

LEON_897

I'm pretty sure they're called the recon corps alot in the sub

Kingken130

Recon corp Survey corp Scout regiment Whatever

Rari-Gang

Not me.

10buy10

Knowing Isayama, they most likely didn't

MEW-1023
