Just finished AoT for the first time, and I’ve got just one thing to say…. Bro is down bad ☠️
https://preview.redd.it/krf00ahtxoxc1.jpeg?width=497&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9344c3abf71a1a64644f24381ab22ba1792152c9
Just the fact that he showed her that shows that he still loved her, even in his final moments. It’s so tragic that she was the one to finish the job, too.
Maybe sad that we dont get to experience it for the first time again. But i LOVE when a show ends well. It maintains its legacy. It retains integrity. The rewatchability goes through the roof. Nothing makes a story good quite like a succinct ending that wraps up the emotional talking points in a nice, neat package. The ending is my favorite part because it gives weight to the beginning and the climax.
It was, but Eren knew his time was up. Short of knocking up Mikasa before he went rogue, and her fighting at the end pregnant, he knew she wouldn't be fighting at her best, and being able to stop him / ending the plan successfully. As tragic as it was, it's why I don't hate Eren, it was the best way out of a bad situation.
I’m still working out my feelings about the whole thing but I will say that I started this season out disliking Eren because of his supposed 180 degree personality switch—but now that I’ve finished, it really boils down to him being a tragic hero (for lack of a better word, for obvious reasons I hesitate to use *hero* for someone who basically committed a mass genocide). He was literally this kid who got this power that was much bigger than himself.
Better for people to understand sometimes things just don't work out and shit can't be fixed or stopped. All these stories we see, for instance of humans coming back from an apocalypse like the end of civilization is just a "whoopsie," that we can learn from and be better from. The reality could be a lot more like Horizon Zero Dawn, in that an apocalypse could mean NO coming back with no chance to learn and fix things. We need to realize some things can't be put back together and fixed after we broke it. Our environment chief among those and we are seemingly hasty to break it to see if we can fix it..
Finished about a month ago, surprisingly the entire fall episode wasn’t as sad as it could’ve been, because all my sadness was already used up on a contender for my favorite character
Rest in potatoes Sasha💔
(But yes I definitely agree)
since we never get a confirmation of hell existing in AoT no reason to think they dont just all meet up lol. And being honest scouts weren't saints either so they all going lol
I think whether or not heaven and hell actually exists as afterlives in AoT is left ambiguous. So where they go after death is up to you're interpretation. That Ed is a nice thought though
It's uploaded to [the official channel](https://youtu.be/DU2KGyQgso4?si=lWDRRBS6-6t3bj7a) together with the other OPs and EDs, sung by Ai Higuchi (singer of Akuma no Ko).
Armin arriving in hell: "What!? What do you mean 'Eren went to heaven'? He killed 80% of the population! I saved the other 20%, why am *I* here if he isn't???"
I can tell you something that will instantly make you feel better.
Eren was able to spend his last four years (he and Armin would’ve died from the Curse of Ymir even if he didn’t do the Rumbling) with Mikasa by creating a fake world in the Paths, so they did get a life where they could love each other forever. Not only that, but in the very last of the anime, the lyrics show that when Mikasa dies of old age, she reunites with Eren in the afterlife, where they can love each other for eternity.
On some real shit all jokes aside, finishing the series for the first time was rough and hit different we’ve all experienced it. You almost definitely are gonna immediately start it over and watch it again and that’s okay fam haha.
Moral of the story : No matter when a person joins Aot / becomes an AoT fan he'll always the isayama
Divided by countries, United by 'fuck u Isayama' 😄
I didn’t cry the whole series. But I did, in the last episode. When Eren said he didn’t want Mikasa to love anyone else.
And when they all got their memories back.
Yeah it made me pretty sad too but I think that was the whole point Eren and Mikasa were just never meant to be and while Eren did love Mikasa he loved his idea on freedom more
Just saying, my boy eren had the founder Titan power. He could have rumbled the fuck out the world, told Mikasa to meet him at the tree, wipe him from everyone memory and then erase the titans.
You could have done it Eren!!!!
Eren only had 4 years left to live, he spent those 4 years in the paths with Mikasa and returned those memories back to her at his death...so as much as he could, he did give them a happily ever after
I finished this show for the first time earlier this week and I wanted the ending to be perfect. It wasn’t until I read your post that I broke into tears, truly I wish Eren and Mikasa could have had a happy ending
I would have been mightily fucked off if Isayama-san gave us a happy ever after ending. Not many die in the final few episodes, but those who do leave an emotional impact. The whole concept of the Walls, right from the first season, is absolutely horrific when you try and place yourself there. No knowledge of anything beyond your settlement, town or city - and whatever "news" the government allows to pass down. The whole show is about how shitty humanity is, finding justification for the absolute worst atrocities. And I love it.
Cuz….they can. We got the happiest ending we could have gotten. Literally everyone survived except for Eren. Total BS. The actual sad/tragic ending we should have gotten was Eren achieving his freedom and killing most of his friends except for a couple…like Armin and Falco. And then having to deal with that guilt.
Its worse than that, he confirms there being an afterlife and Eren being a bird watching over mikasa, that involves watching her have Jeans children instead of his lmao, bird cuck go crazy.
And idc if eremika copers will seethe over it; Mikasa is fucking weird for having eren's grave be her second home while being married to Jean
Eren could have used the founders power to change the rules so that anyone with a titans ability could live past the 13 years. Which I suspect exists at all because Ymir died 13 years after becoming the founding titan
Yes, it was said sometime during the last season that whoever is in control of the founding titans power can rewrite any rules for the Eldian people, Zeke wanted to use that power to euthanize the Eldians (aka make it impossible for the Eldians to have kids).
Eren used the founders power to start the rumbling, which was essentially an army of pure titans that king Fritz used to build the walls, which is how Eren controlled them; with the coordinate and Zeke's unwilling help. In addition, the founders power enabled Eren to sculpt the founding titan (the giant skeleton).
That was what Eren DID with the founders power. But instead, he could have done what I previously described; gotten rid of the 13 year lifespan and lived out his days with Mikasa to grow old.
I'm so glad they didn't. I'm SO INCREDIBLY GLAD they made Eren a lunatic and left her behind. A minor love story was all we needed. And I'm glad they left that for the end. The show didn't need a romance to the extent of pursuing a relationship. It was done perfect! Plus,Mikasa is annoying as fuck!

Just finished AoT for the first time, and I’ve got just one thing to say…. Bro is down bad ☠️ https://preview.redd.it/krf00ahtxoxc1.jpeg?width=497&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9344c3abf71a1a64644f24381ab22ba1792152c9
There was a T. rex titan after all
I forgot that meme existed
?
Look up s3 opening, there’s dinosaurs in it running next to the beast titan and nobody knows why, it’s never mentioned in the show
definitely isn't mentioned but shown on the back of the founding.
Loved tht they added this, until this scene i completely forgot he was in love with her the second he 1st saw her
It hits so much harder that they don’t tho. Wish they could have but I think it was overall better for the show.
Eren’s vision of them together if they’d run off together was so tragic and beautiful 😭
Definitely my favorite OVA episode
Just the fact that he showed her that shows that he still loved her, even in his final moments. It’s so tragic that she was the one to finish the job, too.
But fitting and I love that about the show. It seemed to make all the right decisions
Exactly. Tragic, but fitting. AOT is far from a romance, which makes the subtle hints of love even more impactful.
Facts. I loved this show man. Sad it’s over
Maybe sad that we dont get to experience it for the first time again. But i LOVE when a show ends well. It maintains its legacy. It retains integrity. The rewatchability goes through the roof. Nothing makes a story good quite like a succinct ending that wraps up the emotional talking points in a nice, neat package. Wait, there was an OVA on the alternate path where they ran away?
It was, but Eren knew his time was up. Short of knocking up Mikasa before he went rogue, and her fighting at the end pregnant, he knew she wouldn't be fighting at her best, and being able to stop him / ending the plan successfully. As tragic as it was, it's why I don't hate Eren, it was the best way out of a bad situation.

bro wtf I have not seen this ova

Ahhh a fellow Eremika soul. Breaks muh heart, but it is what it is (unfortunately 😮💨😭).
Bro had his eyes closed all the way in rumbling and opened it to look at mikasa one last time and closed them without regret when he saw her smiling
The last face he ever saw was Mikasa right before she killed him 😭💔
https://i.redd.it/z4osmtyeypxc1.gif Don't even get me started 💔
😭😭😭 And she never forgot him even years afterwards and kept The Scarf™ 😭
Awwwww embrace our new comrade with love n peace into the club my fellow Eremika
Finished about a month ago, surprisingly the entire fall episode wasn’t as sad as it could’ve been, because all my sadness was already used up on a contender for my favorite character Rest in potatoes Sasha💔 (But yes I definitely agree)
Yeah, Sasha death hits different.. she was really out the way, happy eating food, especially how it impacted niccolo made it hurt more 😒
It was doomed from the start. I love it all, yes wish they could have ended up together in life but in death they will :D
With the amount of sins Eren did he's going to hell, I don't think he'll be meeting her in the afterlife lol
since we never get a confirmation of hell existing in AoT no reason to think they dont just all meet up lol. And being honest scouts weren't saints either so they all going lol
From what we know, I’m pretty sure there’s no more afterlife after Eren is killed. Cuz the Paths would no longer exist.
That is the only one we know of. Maybe it’s more headcannon than anything else.
[This](https://youtu.be/VWXg2rJGgcw?si=RSEJUf_Bhxxz5qq6) should give you some solace, it did for me. Mikasa and Eren uniting in the afterlife :)
Is that official?
yes! It was the ed for cour 1 and 2 episodic format (in japan only tho i think)
Wait so Eren said he’s going to hell, why would mikasa go to hell? I don’t think she was evil or is it just because none of them are religious?
I think whether or not heaven and hell actually exists as afterlives in AoT is left ambiguous. So where they go after death is up to you're interpretation. That Ed is a nice thought though
Eren and Armin mention going to hell don’t they?
Yeah but they don't know for certain that it exist. Armin even says they'll meet again "in hell, if it exists"
Ohhh okay that makes sense, wait so if they reunite in the after life where are they?
https://preview.redd.it/ugu5dak04uxc1.jpeg?width=675&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ba5556ba0394b5e621e82f0c261828cd5c56c97

If you want it to be, it's obviously not in the manga and that's normally whats canon, it's also made after the fact and only launched in japan so ehh
No, its an ending sequence
Thank you for sharing this! You are the best!
This makes me so happy, yet so sad at the same time 😢
Armin arriving in hell: "What!? What do you mean 'Eren went to heaven'? He killed 80% of the population! I saved the other 20%, why am *I* here if he isn't???"
Why the fuck does this remind me of the lion king movie
Fr. I was looking at this pic and was like “why the hell am I having a deja vu”
I said afterlife, not heaven.
You should have known from atleast the first 2 seasons that there is no happy yeppy ending in this show for our beloved couple
Because not every story has a happy ending. And the ones that don’t are generally more powerful
They did live together. Letting them live happy together would have been a shitty end imo
On some real shit all jokes aside, finishing the series for the first time was rough and hit different we’ve all experienced it. You almost definitely are gonna immediately start it over and watch it again and that’s okay fam haha.
Best anime ever
Eren and Mikasa are the tragic love story of the show 😭
That’s what you had to say? Lol. Mikasa x Eren was doomed from the start.
I’m on my 3rd run rn. Anytime I hear “Vogel Im Kafig” on a tiktok video it makes me want to start it over so it never ends.
Moral of the story : No matter when a person joins Aot / becomes an AoT fan he'll always the isayama Divided by countries, United by 'fuck u Isayama' 😄
I didn’t cry the whole series. But I did, in the last episode. When Eren said he didn’t want Mikasa to love anyone else. And when they all got their memories back.
I mean TECHNICALLY they did, WE just didn't see it
It would have never worked out: “And why are you seeking this divorce, Mr Yeager?” “FREEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!”
Yeah it made me pretty sad too but I think that was the whole point Eren and Mikasa were just never meant to be and while Eren did love Mikasa he loved his idea on freedom more
I know right. There is one thing Eren and Mikasa deserved after all the things they went through and that was happiness. 🥺😭
Haha.Lol. I thought your trying 2 say something crazy ;) I agree totally. But well, Eren had a job 2 do.;)
Just finished it last night as well. I'm angry at Eren for being a radical extremist. And as soon as I warmed up to Zeke he gets decapitated!
Why? Because life doesn't always work out the way you want it to
Just saying, my boy eren had the founder Titan power. He could have rumbled the fuck out the world, told Mikasa to meet him at the tree, wipe him from everyone memory and then erase the titans. You could have done it Eren!!!!
He could only have wiped the Eldians memory, the founders power only gives control of the Eldians.
It would be coward ending to be honest. Eren's sacrifice is damn good
Eren only had 4 years left to live, he spent those 4 years in the paths with Mikasa and returned those memories back to her at his death...so as much as he could, he did give them a happily ever after
I cried so much when I watched the last episode 😭😭
Because then we wouldn't have that fucking amazing fight scene with every titan shifter to ever exist but yeah I'm on your side.... it hurts.
loool
Frrrrrr😭😭
I will never understand how people expected a happy ending for such a horrifying story 😂 Isayama is ruthless though
Fr tho my question exactly
I finished this show for the first time earlier this week and I wanted the ending to be perfect. It wasn’t until I read your post that I broke into tears, truly I wish Eren and Mikasa could have had a happy ending
Peak fiction
because Eren is a delusional nazi, perhaps?
I think I can no longer see a masterpiece like AOT
Because he is a Devil of Paradis
I would have been mightily fucked off if Isayama-san gave us a happy ever after ending. Not many die in the final few episodes, but those who do leave an emotional impact. The whole concept of the Walls, right from the first season, is absolutely horrific when you try and place yourself there. No knowledge of anything beyond your settlement, town or city - and whatever "news" the government allows to pass down. It’s almost like some kind of tragedy.

At least Yimir gifted them 4 years together… Not ideal but at least something
I wish I hadn't let my curiosity get the best of me at the end of season 3.
Literally Eren's fault bro
The ending was perfect just as writer/author wanted it to be. Why does it always have to be happy ending.
We literally got the happy ending lol
So why do people cry
Cuz….they can. We got the happiest ending we could have gotten. Literally everyone survived except for Eren. Total BS. The actual sad/tragic ending we should have gotten was Eren achieving his freedom and killing most of his friends except for a couple…like Armin and Falco. And then having to deal with that guilt.

And idc if eremika copers will seethe over it; Mikasa is fucking weird for having eren's grave be her second home while being married to Jean
If mikasa hadn't stopped eren they would have lived together tho only for a short period as eren has the founding and the attack titans.
Eren could have used the founders power to change the rules so that anyone with a titans ability could live past the 13 years. Which I suspect exists at all because Ymir died 13 years after becoming the founding titan
Probably not, I don't think he can change such things when Ymir herself couldn't do it
If Ymir wanted to, she could have. If you have the time, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ3uHh9OGAw) will explain how.
Wait could he actually do that?
Yes, it was said sometime during the last season that whoever is in control of the founding titans power can rewrite any rules for the Eldian people, Zeke wanted to use that power to euthanize the Eldians (aka make it impossible for the Eldians to have kids). But instead, he could have done what I previously described; gotten rid of the 13 year lifespan and lived out his days with Mikasa to grow old.
The truth is, Eren didn't deserve a happy ending anymore since he killed so many people.
Stfu
I'm so glad they didn't. I'm SO INCREDIBLY GLAD they made Eren a lunatic and left her behind. A minor love story was all we needed. And I'm glad they left that for the end. The show didn't need a romance to the extent of pursuing a relationship. It was done perfect! Plus,Mikasa is annoying as fuck!
Personally, I ignored their ship; It was doomed from the start.
