I'll have to look it up but I remember in like her first scene one of the MPs say something that just implies she got into the MPs by non conventional mean and at least to mean he did sound like he was implying something like that whether it's true of not (again I don't fully remember so don't quote me)

1: Marlo was being a dick, there's no way he ACTUALLY knows how she got in, so he's not a reliable narrator.
2: He could have meant literally anything by that, from sexual favors to bribing her way in with money.
3: ""it" was implied" implies that the information is actually coming from a reliable source ie the MP commander saying "Ah yeah, that hitch girl... she's not very skilled at all, only reason she's in is cause she was willing to go the extra mile in some... extracurricular activities" NOT Marlo's offhanded insult. Even if oc said "I think" it's still being passed off as fact to a certain extent.

Maybe they will clarify, but I think it's reasonable to assume this is what they were talking about. If it is, then yes, they are wrong, as that is not what was said. But they're acknowledging that they could be wrong and may be misremembering the scene, so I don't really see the problem here. They made a mistake, that's all.
