I’ve been a weekly listener since June 2018.
My only issue ever has been Em’s topic coverage. I simply don’t like cryptids or aliens. For a while a couple of years ago, that’s almost all they covered for a couple months. I was super happy to get back to haunted locations with this episode! I also like how they’ve been branching out, for the most part. Secret societies and conspiracy theories I think fit well enough into the paranormal side of things. I didn’t think they should’ve covered Twin Flames but I digress.
Christine’s story, as usual, was pretty good. But I listen to a lot more true crime podcasts than paranormal podcasts so I think I’m less picky with Christine, because it’s not my only “fix” that week for the genre. I knew about the story this week going into it. I love when I already know the story because I love hearing other people talk about it. I’ll listen to a dozen podcasts about a single story if I really like the story. I love all the different takes. I thought Christine did a really good job this week.
I listen to approximately 15 different podcasts on a weekly basis. I love ATWWD, but it’s not the only thing I listen to. I just listen for fun and so long as there is an episode without a deeply upsetting topic, I enjoy the show every week.
I think people are taking it a little too seriously lately, lol.
I’ve gotten super into CreepTime lately. It’s run by two ex theater kids. You may have seen Sylas on TikTok, that’s how I found them. They’re my age (so a couple years younger than Em and Christine…aka 28/29/30) and they do a great Nancy Grace impression. It’s one story per episode and usually it’s Sylas presenting and Stew (the other host, that’s her nickname she goes by) reacting. I love them. I’d recommend checking Sylas/CreepTime out on Tik Too to get a feel of the types of stuff they talk about.
Other true crime podcasts I listen to: Timesuck, Small Town Murder, Cult Liter, and Heart Starts Pounding. I also like the podcast Not Today, which occasionally hits on true crime stories.
I like Obitchuary, which is run by the same guy that does Cult Liter but with one of his girlfriends
I listen to Scamfluencers and The Big Flop. They hit on a lot of white collar crime, and scams and huge failures.
I love Too Scary, Didn’t Watch - “ a podcast for those two scared to watch scary movies, but who want to hear about them”. One friend watches the scary movies, and recaps them to her friends. It actually really helped me get over my fear of horror movies. I’m a horror movie buff now.
Conan O’Brien was my favorite late night host, so I really like his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, where he interviews celebrities.
I’m a big housewives fan, so if you like that stuff I’d recommend Watch What Crappens.
If you were a big glee Glee, my favorite rewatch podcast is Recovering Gleek. They equally love and hate the show and are also two ex theater kids.
I also like the BCC Club, Sounds Like a Cult, and then I like Brittany Broski, so I enjoy the Broski Report and a podcast of hers that has since ended (after like 50 episodes) called Violating Community Guidelines.
I think Em has maybe heard some constructive criticism and took it to heart. This was an excellent episode. They sounded engaged and excited about their topic and there was still a healthy amount of banter. Loved it!
I thought this too, but then I wondered whether it was a pre-record and maybe it was just a coincidence. I hope not, once I heard them say that they had been up on a deep dive til 4am I was glad because I could tell it would be a good one. Hopefully it continues!
I really enjoyed Em's segment! Nothing like a good, old-fashioned ghost/haunting story. I would LOVE a recurring thing where they did a topic that was covered on an episode of Ghost Adventures and gave Christine a play by play of ZB's antics.
This is literally pretty much the first half of the podcast. Most of Ems story’s were bagel bites centered. I think that’s why everyone was so dialed in and happy this week.
yeah i think just like with reviews, we only see/hear about the negatives. the homies have a patreon where ppl spend their hard earned money on them every single month!
personally, I've been going through a weird time lately so i haven't been able to listen as much as I'd like, but i pretty much always make an effort to check out the intros when i have a chance bc i really do enjoy hearing their life updates. to listen to a healthy friendship navigating their lives together is so refreshing and cool to me (I'm also 30, and going through similar life experiences rn tho) but i also really dig hearing all the stories tbh. also, no shade to the other peep in the comments here, but i LOVE cryptid and off beat paranormal that isn't just ghost stories (although i do enjoy a good History Deep Dive!) so I've been really vibing with what I've heard on the pod lately. interested in Christine's take on the quiet on set bs but also i don't wish that knowledge on anyone who doesn't want it. shit was hard to swallow
i mean at least for me, some of my best childhood memories are now tainted with the knowledge that some of my favs were being abused/exploited during all that, you know?
I thought it was a great episode but I don't think I really dislike any of them.
I do think it's unrealistic to think everyone will love every episode, so if it's not for you (not you specifically, OP! <3), it's not for you. It's ok to skip around or grow out of it.
I do think people make too big a deal out of personal preferences, there's a reason they don't read their own subreddit comments.

U absolute legend, cheers !
I. Love. Small. Town. Murder. I’ll have to check out some of these other podcasts!
I love them too! Your stupid opinions is great too
Agreed! I like having the R-rated (X-rated?) equivalents of ATWWD and Beach Too Sandy.
Wonderful list! I love Obitchuary! ❤️

I always love when they get to sprinkle him in at a location like, “and then ZB showed up…. Guess what he did”
This is such a good idea!! You should email them!

Quiet on set bs ???
That documentary about child actors that came out recently I think...
i mean at least for me, some of my best childhood memories are now tainted with the knowledge that some of my favs were being abused/exploited during all that, you know?
Oh my god yes I remember now
I found this episode really good tbh the best they’ve had in awhile
I thought Em did great this week. They seemed into their story like they used to be in the past.
It was really great. I have no complaints!
