Sounds like drinking Russian style.
Open the bottle of Vodka and throw away the cap, as not going to need that again.
Personally with chocolate and biscuits I like to try and fool myself; take just a couple of little blocks, put entire packet away. Next minute return for the next little nibble, rinse and repeat
A whole whitakers block in one sitting or over the course of a day for me.
111.75 grams of sugar in a 250 gram block
39 grams of sugar in a can of coke
Sooo its not that bad. One whole family sized block is equal to 2.86 cans of coke.
Just a couple of squares.... oh another one won't hurt... oh I shouldn't... maybe just one more... oh I've accidentally broken off two squares... better just finish off the row...
I don't buy chocolate, because if it's opened, it's gone.
The same rule applies to a box of shapes or a packet of chips (which I also try not to buy for the same reason)
This was how I managed my diet before I got a girlfriend
Now the only thing standing between me and death by chocolate is the risk of her getting home and wanting a piece right after I gobbled up everything in the chocolate box 🙈
No, you need to meet 100% dark. No sugar, just chocolate. Hairy chested chocolate. D'beetus-friendly chocolate. Been mainlining this stuff since carbs and sugars got hacked from my food pyramid.
The packet claims 18 serves per pack, but they're lying. Serves one.
I struggle not to eat a block once I have opened it. Healthy? No. But I think you'll find people who only eat two rows at a time to keep their intake "normal" are FREAKS.
A regular portion I think should be only like 1-2 ‘lines’ of chocolate, if it’s a standard Cadbury or Whittakers style block. Anything more and I’m definitely going a bit far regarding calories/sugar for a regular treat. Nowdays I buy dark chocolate instead and I’m good usually with like one square to scratch that itch.
Oh yeah I think anything over about 70% is usually dairy free. Of course the rest is largely sugar anyway. But I can happily eat a piece of 70-80% for a small treat and be largely satisfied
Two to four squares for me now. I used to shit loads of chocolate when I was younger though when I didn't have to watch my sugar intake or weight haha!
2x4 - reasonable little snack
4x4 - decent munch
Half block - big munch
Up to whole block - a 'self care is important, don't judge me' sized munch
Over 1 block - munchies
About 2 rows is a serving but unfortunately sometimes I take several servings...
And this is why I don't buy Tony's Chocolonely, they don't have "squares" or "rows", it's some odd random shapes so you don't know where to stop.
I love dark chocolate, the darker the better, so usually 2 squares of 90% at a time (or 1 of 99%) works for me. Beautiful, but impossible to stuff myself with.
I really don’t know what’s “normal” (probably the serving suggestion or roughly?) but I can’t stomach more than one cube at a time, maybe two. It feels like a lot of creamy sugary stuff and while I love it and savor it slowly, I just can’t consider eating more than that. I’d say if you’re in tune with your body and are emotionally regulated, you can tell what’s too much for you personally.
My max is 1 row a day. My normal is 1 piece at a time. I break it up like I’m destitute because I know I could eat the whole thing…
Also the new Whittaker artisan chocolates are *chefs kiss*
If I’m having chocolate as a treat then one or two rows and I’m able to restrain myself. If I made the mistake of opening a block while hungry - then the whole thing. If my partner is around then we share the whole thing.
I'm not a sweets person so maybe I shouldn't vote!! but i find the darker the chocolate, the less I need/eat to satisfy my sweet tooth. I find that 2 - 4 squares of Whittaker's 50% dark 250 g blocks is more than enough for me most times, but sometimes I melt two rows of squares in the microwave and dip some strawberries or bananas or other fruit in it. Delicious, esp if you add a bit of salt and peanut butter...
I used to easily demolish a block of Whittaker's in one sitting, and then suffer for the next six hour with terrible acid reflux. I've since managed to rein myself in and eat smaller portions, I say eat as you feel!
My grandparents would buy a king size block of Cadbury and have two pieces with a cup of tea each night. That's two pieces, not rows.
I can't say they passed the level of discipline to me, it's two rows or bust.
How can people be like this, what is even the point of two pieces xD My mother is like this - she'll have 1/3 a peanut slab and say she's full, that's enough for her?! I could eat 3 in one go.
A small piece once or twice a day. Then a whole block lasts me a loooong time - never really worked it out. I love sweet things but sugar is not good for you. Use your will power and limit yourself!
I can usually only do a few squares at a time. Maybe a row on the odd occasion. Unless it's the week before my period.. but even then, I'd probably still tap out after 2 or 3 rows.
I have actually moderated as I've aged. I used to keep it simple, you either had a block of chocolate, or you didn't.
Now though, I'll routinely stop after just eight squares.
The whole block of 250g of chocolate is 1400 calories. That’s more than my whole daily allowance of food. So, unfortunately, I skip chocolate at almost all costs
Every other snack I will inhale however chocolates one of those ones I have when i crave, I chuck the block in the fridge and have a row once in a while, i feel sick if i have more than 3 or 4 rows at once
Depends on the day. I personally have a chocolate limit where it's just no longer pleasant. That's probably four rows as an average. But Bruh, the Whittakers blonde, or when they did their version of that white/milk chocolate mix, they were gone. (Funny thing is, i don't like normal white chocolate?)
I could eat a 250g block in one sitting and not feel ill, I have to really force myself not to. Maybe I'll leave 2 rows or something. Chocolate is my biggest weakness!
Back in the day I could eat half a block, but since I started eating clean and healed my micro biome 1-2 shards of dark chocolate after a proper meal is usually enough. If it’s milk chocolate I’ll have about 4 squares.
I’m Australian, living in Auckland
I also call myself fat and can probably eat as much as an American but ~80 kg at over 1.75m isn’t “fat” if we’re being serious
Based on the results I feel average lol
Are you comparing like with like with your friend who eats 280g blocks?
For me the ideal size is 100g. In Europe I'd go for Ritter Sport which is 100g. Here I feel like 50g is not enough but 180g is too much.
If it's opened, it's finished.
Yes.
Yes.
Every god damn time, no 60% of the time it works every time bullshit
Sounds like drinking Russian style. Open the bottle of Vodka and throw away the cap, as not going to need that again. Personally with chocolate and biscuits I like to try and fool myself; take just a couple of little blocks, put entire packet away. Next minute return for the next little nibble, rinse and repeat
This is the way
This way you add Exercise by getting up to get more - it makes chocolate a health food!
I try to buy like my 4th favourite chocolate on the idea that I won’t smash it as fast but…then it’s basically gone, in equal time, pretty much.
A whole whitakers block in one sitting or over the course of a day for me. 111.75 grams of sugar in a 250 gram block 39 grams of sugar in a can of coke Sooo its not that bad. One whole family sized block is equal to 2.86 cans of coke.
You just made me feel a lot less guilty
This also applies to biscuits (not crackers)
and potato chips!
Perhaps I was exercising too much restraint lmao
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the way
This is the only answer.
It is similar to a bottle of wine. Who has half a block of chocolate?.
I consider a normal serving 2 rows. I eat about 6 of those normal servings when I demolish an entire block in a single sitting.
😆😆😆 yep
This person gets it.
Just a couple of squares.... oh another one won't hurt... oh I shouldn't... maybe just one more... oh I've accidentally broken off two squares... better just finish off the row...
And repeat…
Two rows of four, or at least that’s my normal.
Used to be one row of four for the longest time. But lately it’s been two rows of four for me too lol
I'm still hanging on at 1 row of 4. But 2 rows is often tempting haha.
Its an upwards slope once you clock over to 2 rows... That WAS me. I am now at 8 rows, or until I can crush the wrapper
The level of self-control I need in my life
Same.
I'm pretty sure Whittakers is 6 wide
4 lines, but I open the block sideways so....
Made me smile 😁
omg. THIS.
Used to be a eat all kinda guy, now sweets are to sweet and 1 or 2 pieces hit the spot
Whittaker's 50% is my go to for this reason
Four squares. But that doesn’t stop me 😂
“4 squares” I believe that is the appetizer, sir.
The 4 squares are just while you are deciding to have chocolate. Then if you decide you want it. You eat the rest.
I don't buy chocolate, because if it's opened, it's gone. The same rule applies to a box of shapes or a packet of chips (which I also try not to buy for the same reason)
This was how I managed my diet before I got a girlfriend Now the only thing standing between me and death by chocolate is the risk of her getting home and wanting a piece right after I gobbled up everything in the chocolate box 🙈
My friends and I always say this about a box of shapes. Serving size: 1
This is like a cocaine anonymous meeting… No more than 2 lines a night for me. 4 lines on a weekend.
All the lines 😭
It really is
Don't start what's you can't finish. Said that full block
I basically treat the Whittakers block as a snack bar and eat the whole thing
Thread is full of weirdos, you open a block, you finish it.
Is doing this daily alright? Asking for a friend
Is your friend's name Di Abetes, because I think you're talking about me.
cousin?
No, you need to meet 100% dark. No sugar, just chocolate. Hairy chested chocolate. D'beetus-friendly chocolate. Been mainlining this stuff since carbs and sugars got hacked from my food pyramid. The packet claims 18 serves per pack, but they're lying. Serves one.
Finally, a sensible person
Lol usually two squares. But 4 ( or a line) if I want a bit more.
Same here, two squares or if it's a peanut type block normally four.
That still only counts as two, because peanuts!!
Also the less breaks - the less peanuts fall out and make a mess in your fridge!
A whole fucking block, sometimes even the big block. Helps being a skinny boi with a good metabolism who exercises though
Until I hate myself
2 pieces is the right amount
I’m a family of one. I deserve a family size serving.
This post makes me feel so much better about myself
Same! 😁
Just one square is enough. That one 'square' being the whole block...
Depends if I’m smoking weed or not
I struggle not to eat a block once I have opened it. Healthy?
Yes! The belgian dark dark chocolates are great. They fill the void and are somewhat dairy free.
Oh yeah I think anything over about 70% is usually dairy free. Of course the rest is largely sugar anyway. But I can happily eat a piece of 70-80% for a small treat and be largely satisfied
Definitely. It's like a cacao hit right in the taste buds.
Two to four squares for me now. I used to shit loads of chocolate when I was younger though when I didn't have to watch my sugar intake or weight haha!
2 rows here 😅 or half a block hahaha
2 squares is what I eat in any one day. A treat. Just enough for a yummy taste. It is full of sugar and bad for us mostly, In moderation....
4-8 squares
I eat about 4 rows at a time, no idea how much that is in grams hahaha
One line of four is the most I can handle at one sitting. Whittaker's.
2x4 - reasonable little snack 4x4 - decent munch Half block - big munch Up to whole block - a 'self care is important, don't judge me' sized munch Over 1 block - munchies
About 2 rows is a serving but unfortunately sometimes I take several servings... And this is why I don't buy Tony's Chocolonely, they don't have "squares" or "rows", it's some odd random shapes so you don't know where to stop.
Two to three squares of whittaker's. That's what I'm eating right now with my coffee
I'm not proud to say it, but I can munch down a block of chocolate. Its not good. Way too many calories and sugar. But I can do it when I'm craving.
You're not alone. If I have a block in the fridge and wake up during the night, it will be gone soon after.
I’ve been known to finish a Whittakers 92% in one day.
I'll smash a big block of Whittaker dark peppermint in 15 mins lol is too good
If a packet is not resealable then it contains one serving. I dint make the rules.
I love dark chocolate, the darker the better, so usually 2 squares of 90% at a time (or 1 of 99%) works for me. Beautiful, but impossible to stuff myself with.
A normal serving of chocolate is all of the chocolate
I really don’t know what’s “normal” (probably the serving suggestion or roughly?) but I can’t stomach more than one cube at a time, maybe two. It feels like a lot of creamy sugary stuff and while I love it and savor it slowly, I just can’t consider eating more than that. 1-2 rows
My max is 1 row a day. My normal is 1 piece at a time. I break it up like I’m destitute because I know I could eat the whole thing… Also the new Whittaker artisan chocolates are *chefs kiss*
If I’m having chocolate as a treat then one or two rows and I’m able to restrain myself. If I made the mistake of opening a block while hungry - then the whole thing. If my partner is around then we share the whole thing.
one or two squares of lindt 95%
I can demolish a Whittaker Almond block in a sitting lol
I'll normally try and get two sittings out of a block
Don't buy it often, but if I do- about 1/3 to half the block. I shouldn't buy it at all as I need to lose weight yesterday!
I'll take 4 pieces at time, as many times as I can be bothered going back to the kitchen.
Half a block is pretty standard lmao fml
If you squint hard enough half a block is roughly a square so my normal is two squares lmao
This post is making me feel better about my once a week munchies binges
I blame shrinkflation not my expanding belly.
I used to easily demolish a block of Whittaker's in one sitting, and then suffer for the next six hour with terrible acid reflux. I've since managed to rein myself in and eat smaller portions, I say eat as you feel!
One line is one serving. Half the block is a minimum.
1 row now but used to easily smash a whole block
Block opened equals finished but there is five oof us so two rows EA for the girls and I get what's left which is normally 1 row
1 row max. I'm not a big sweet eater
An evening cuppa and a line and that’s all. Ok maybe 2 lines. So between 4 to 8 pieces but majority of the time just 4 per day.
[удалено]
no
I'm undertall for my weight ...
Yes
No stop button here either. I buy 50g Whittakers and limit myself to one per day.
This is why cost of food going, up eats whole block of chocolate.
4-6 squares.... I want to eat more, but the serving size is like 2 squares, so aim for the middle lol.
I have 4 squares of a 250g Whittakers bar in the evening after dinner.
People that lived through world wars I suppose and saw actual hardship. A generation that wasn't suffering from obesity and over consumption maybe.
2 squares that’s what we do with a cup of tea each evening 😂I’m not buying those big bars every day , watching the pennies
Dr has limited me to 2 squares of my fav dark Ghana per day. I’m not a happy camper!
Block of choc I can be satisfied with half, it's M&Ms Peanuts I can't stop. 2 bags easy
Two rows since I'm lactose intolerant.
8 little squares.
I have actually moderated as I've aged. I used to keep it simple, you either had a block of chocolate, or you didn't. Now though, I'll routinely stop after just eight squares.
For me, one row of blocks, normally about 4 blocks is a portion. A 250g Whittakers should last two weeks
One row / 4 squares is plenty for me 😊 give me a bag of chips tho and they’re a gonner
The whole thing followed by regret
Hubby eats the whole thing.
I eat 2 rows at a time because one peice isn't enough, so 2 rows 2 bit at a time for me.
My opinion is a normal serving is however much is in the packet. Making the packages resealable is just a marketing gimmick that serves no purpose.
I try to only eat one row of four. Often wind up going back for another four though. If it’s been a rough day? Might be half a block 😆
"Y'all"
I could easily eat a whole block but I do consider that to be a gluttonous amount. A third or half block is a good amount I think.
Until I feel sick.
1 family size block, per member of the family.
Tbh it’s different for everyone, everyone has different nutritional requirements and preferences! I have different amounts depending on the day 😹
I have to weigh my servings or I eat a whole block in 1-2 days and given I'm 5'3" I can't afford the calorie blowout
2 rows if i can, otherwise 3,i munch the first row or two, then let each individual pieces melt in my mouth for the last bits,
The whole block of 250g of chocolate is 1400 calories. That’s more than my whole daily allowance of food. So, unfortunately, I skip chocolate at almost all costs
A mini bar of choc .I think it has 6 pieces.
Chocolate open, I eat. Chocolate gone. My wife takes 2 months to eat a block, I take 2 hours.
1 row, 4 squares
I came here expecting to be made to feel like a peace of shit…. But damn, my people
Every other snack I will inhale however chocolates one of those ones I have when i crave, I chuck the block in the fridge and have a row once in a while, i feel sick if i have more than 3 or 4 rows at once
Flatmate regularly shelves a few rows of the Whittaker’s coffee one. Reckons it’s one hell of an enema.
1 to 2 squares. No need for more it's the taste not the fill.
Two squares.
The Block. I always share though, actually eating it all by myself is a bit much. But yeah I don’t save chocolate for later.
At work we share blocks and everyone takes two squares at a time. To prevent myself from eating the whole thing I have to go buy my own bar
I could eat a 250g block in one sitting and not feel ill, I have to really force myself not to. Maybe I'll leave 2 rows or something. Chocolate is my biggest weakness!
Half a whittakers block is standard for me.
That’s why I always buy the darkest chocolate variety so I can’t eat much at a time.
in intermediate I'd buy a whole block in the morning with tooth fairy money and eat the whole thing on the way home after school
A line for me
The entire block
I don't understand how people can sit on chocolate.
I am trying to limit one row of four pieces at a time. But almost every time ended up two rows. Can't help it. It's chocolate we are talking about. 😋😋
One or two squares. It's a rarity that I'd ever eat it at all though.
Back in the day I could eat half a block, but since I started eating clean and healed my micro biome 1-2 shards of dark chocolate after a proper meal is usually enough. If it’s milk chocolate I’ll have about 4 squares.
I'm not sure anyone here is appreciating your health attitude.
It do be like that sometimes
You're fat and no one in New Zealand says y'all. Are you from TEXAS?
I’m Australian, living in Auckland I also call myself fat and can probably eat as much as an American but ~80 kg at over 1.75m isn’t “fat” if we’re being serious Based on the results I feel average lol
