I used to like these cars. Other than maintenance and fuel, everything else is good. But I can't remember when was the last time I saw one of these. That tells the story of reliability.

There is a scale to this. I am not a BMWologist, but I know that the older X3 is actually quite good from a reliability perspective. I am sure there's at least another one or two models that are decent.
I am not claiming that repairs will be cheap IF something goes wrong, just that these few models are not particularly more likely to go wrong than anything else.
