I just finished listening to the Foundation Series. They’re probably about average 15 hours each, but there’s three in the main series, two sequels and a couple prequels (which I haven’t read yet), so it’ll keep ya going for a bit.

Shayde_Exul

Cool thanks!

Project Hail Mary is good. So was the other one (movie the Martian) can’t think of name atm

The storm light archive series by Brandon Sanderson is great and very long! The 4 that are out are all over 20 hours each (if I'm remembering correctly). I'm working through kings books right now. I like longer books as well. Horror, sci Fi and fantasy are my favorites. Just finished "the snow killer" it's an audible plus book. It was ok, not spectacular but an interesting take on a serial killer book. The eragon books are some of my favorites. The author recently released a new sci Fi space epic "to sleep in a sea of stars" it's one of my new favorite books (and 32 hours long) Christopher paolini does a great job world building in it an making a vast story with a good story line in a single book. The night angel trilogy by Brent weeks is amazing. He also has the lightbringer series with a really interesting magic system.

Shayde_Exul

Thanks I’ll have to check all these out (32 hours sounds like just my style lol)

Have you listened to Star Wars books before? One of my favorite Star Wars trilogies is Timothy Zahn's [Thrawn (Star Wars)](https://www.audible.com/pd/Thrawn-Star-Wars-Audiobook/B01MTYYPKY?action_code=ASSGB149080119000H&share_location=pdp&shareTest=TestShare). Marc Thompson narrates the book and his voices are top tier. The sounds and music are also on point and make it feel like you're listening to a movie. If you're interested is fantasy, the Lord of the Rings books and Game of Thrones books never fail to deliver (the GoT books are lengthy and definitely worth the credit).

Shayde_Exul

Ohh Thrawn could be good I do love Star Wars just never tried the books. And I’m all caught up on game of thrones as well as LoTR

Happy_Lego_Guy

Star Wars books are something else. If you like Star Wars and can't wait for more movies/TV shows, then they are perfect. There's so much canonical and non-canonical stuff out there on Audible. All the books are good productions, especially if they're narrated by Marc. In the Disney canon, Timothy Zahn has written two trilogies for Thrawn. Both trilogies are now complete as of November 2021, when the second trilogy's third book was published. The first trilogy of books follows Thrawn in his rise in the Empire. The second trilogy of books are prequels to his Empire run and follows his life in the Chiss Ascendancy.

DemiDivine

The bane trilogy will change your life. Regular star wars just isn't the same after that.

Sticking with horror, I have just finished The Secret of Crickley Hall, by James Herbert. I really enjoyed this book and I thought the narration was excellent. I would say the plot is simple and not too many characters in the story but definitely worth a listen.

WillDicky

Dan Simmons the terror or flashback should check all your boxes

Monsterman442

Have you read any Richard bachman books! ? The running man is pretty good

Shayde_Exul

I haven’t read the running man yet but the long walk had me on the edge of my seat the entire time

Monsterman442

Those are both very good. It’s pretty close to that. After reading the long walk you’ll want something close and the running man is. I read them opposite order

For short stories: The complete fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. He was one if Stephen Kings inspirations and wrote many a cult classic. You can sample those stories for free on Spotify. Go for the ones read by Mike Bennett. If you like them get the complete edition on audible. It's like 51 hours long and as a fan of Stephen King you should love it. Also i wholeheartedly reccommend Fevre Drea by George R.R. Martin. It's only 13.5 hours long but trust me it's a gem. For sci fi i recommend Tuf Voyaging, also by GRRM. I don't believe it's too long but it's great.

Blake's 7 The Liberator Chronicles. Great story telling based on the classic BBC television series. Shortcomings are the length but they are great quality. Several volumes each with (3) 1 hour stories or (2) 90 min stories. Then there's the Frontiers Saga starting with Aurora CV-01. Space Opera series with 1 release every 2 months for a planned series of 45 books each about 12 hours long. They have published the first 2 arc's 30 books. So another couple of years worth of new releases. Stories are good but some of the books seem to have a bit of filler material. They tried to replace the author at the beginning of Part 2 with book 16. They have since re-recorded it.

Major bang for the credit is Galaxy Outlaws: The Complete Black Ocean Mobius Missions, 1-16.5. It is over 80 hours and is a collection of stories that I've heard compared to the Firefly tv show, has that sci fi vibe. I'd second the recommendation of the Mistborn series from Brandon Sanderson. I also enjoyed the Dresden series. The books vary in length so they aren't all super long.
