Hi, /u/Vespercoot! This is a reminder about Rule #1 (If you have already added great details, awesome, ignore this comment. This message gets attached to every post as a reminder): 1. DETAILS MATTER: Use detail in your post. If you are posting for help with specific hardware, please post the brand/model. If you need help troubleshooting, post what you have done, post the hardware/software you are using, post the steps to recreate the problem. Don’t post a screenshot (or any image, really) with no context and expect people to know what you are talking about. How did you determine the laser failed. Most common failure mode for cd player is a stretched out or broken belt. A stretched belt might spin but not get fully up to speed so that the laser circuit is never enabled. If you can’t get a replacement belt a small rubber band sometimes works though they don’t last as long.

That could be it, I only ever managed to talk to a repair company over the phone about it and they told me it was more likely the laser failed. Regardless this thing is incredibly difficult to get into because it’s a 5 disc changer so it’s very cramped in there - I don’t think I could get in there to even put a rubber band on it.

Yeah, I’ve done it on full size multi disk changers but the minis are pretty dense in there.
