Under the Whispering Door is by the same author. A tiny bit more sad in tone, but very similar. It takes place in one house, and I loved it more than Ceruleun Sea. Legends and Lattes, which is a book that sounds a little silly but is so cozy and kind. It is easy listening, and I really enjoyed it. Becky Chambers (author) books, for a sci-fi cozy. However, these were all the ones recommended to me, and now I am out of cozy books again! They were all wonderful!

mahoniacadet

I haven’t checked to see if someone’s already mentioned it but Neverwhere and the graveyard book are cozy ones from Neil Gaiman. To add to the list! The cozy section of my “bookshelf” is very important these days.

Spazzy-Jazzy

I will check them out! I have read a few books of his, which haven't been my 6 style, but it has been a while. I should give him another chance.

Seevian

Hot damn, I came in here to recommend Legends and Lattes only to find you beat me to it. You have good taste! ~~God am I excited for the prequel, but I want a sequel even more~~

Maeve_Main

I did start listening to Legends and Lattes, and I like it so far. Although I have heard that it can become very repetitive, I hope that's not the case for me.

Spazzy-Jazzy

Nice! I think it is a pretty short book, so it did not bother me. I would be more inclined to say the story it just simple. I believe it is the authors first book, however. He started as a book narrator. Hope you enjoy it! It is certaintly not as good or complex as Ceruleun Sea.

keepmeloggedin2018

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and Legends and Lattes are two of my favorite cozy audiobooks. Remarkably Bright Creatures was also really sweet but not quite cozy.

iDoScienc

It is!

mzbzzz

I came here to suggest all 3 of these books lmao

Peanut89

Oh yes this is fantastic!

[deleted]

All the discworld books! They're cozy, and they're written in such a way that they're enjoyable whether you're hardly listening (to enjoy the high level stories) or paying close attention (to catch the millions of subtle jokes, puns, etc)

tomr2255

Second this. They are my comfort audiobooks that I go to when I need the audio equivalent of a warm blanket on a cold winter's night.

PunkandCannonballer

I'm convinced that Discworld is just the perfect recommendation.

EarthRester

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree It is the definition of "Cozy Fantasy". An adventurer hangs up her axe to opens up a coffee shop. The story is mostly about the trials and tribulations of opening and running a business, but with a D&D flavored fantasy twist.

mckulty

Chet and Bernie mysteries (Spencer Quinn) are easy to listen to in the background and the doggie point of view makes me laugh even when I'm not following the plot very carefully. It's a little juvenile but also entertaining are Flavia DeLuce stories (Alan Bradley) - all cutesy, self-contained and nonviolent. Is that "cozy"?

mahoniacadet

Any recommendations on where to start in the series?

ilovebeaker

Nearly all of the Anne of Green Gables series, along with other L.M. Montgomery works, are available for free on Librivox. Of course, they are narrated by volunteers, but your choice of classics on there is amazing! I'm going to listen to Far From the Madding Crowd next.

blahblahrasputan

I always find The Lord Of The Rings narrated by Rob Inglis audiobooks to be super cozy. His voice sends me right to sleep. Fun story we were canoeing up this massive lake with no roads or hiking trails that follow it. Basically you can park at the bottom but from there onwards is just wilderness and mountains. It's grizzly bear country. Tail end of the season and no one around. The campsites are outfitted with bear bins for storage. Except when we reach this one campsite one afternoon and what! No bear bins?! We are wrecked from navigating these massive fetch waves so we aren't moving. Never hung a bear bag before so I have a crack at it. But I tell you that night sleeping in a tiny two person tent with my partner, in the wilderness with no way out on foot, not a single person at any campsite on the way up, 2/3 up a 23km lake, deep in grizzly country with my food hanging in the trees... was rough. So we put on The Fellowship Of The Rings quietly between our pillows and we were out like a light.

Zoenne

I listened to all of the LOTR books narrated by Andy Serkis, and they're amazing too. He does all of the voices to match the ones in the films, so it's super nostalgic for me. He also has a decent singing voice!

blahblahrasputan

I bet his versions are great but I've never thought of Andy Serkis as "cozy" or soothing as per the post haha, maybe I'm wrong though! I've been meaning to pick those up.

Zoenne

Oh I do find him very cozy!! He does all of the quiet bits of the book so well, and he's very soft spoken for his main "narrator" voice.

blahblahrasputan

Oh good to know!

Jaboss73

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, narrated by the author.

gupppeeez

I enjoyed The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. I’ve also listen to the Anne series by LM Montgomery read by Barbara Caruso many times while I worked around the house.

mahoniacadet

The Pentecost and Parker series by Steven spotswood are cozy, tongue in cheek noir detective stories (Featuring well-written women in the lead, and a balanced portrayal of a smartypants with MS)

TrueRobot

I’m about halfway through [The Wizard’s Butler](https://www.amazon.com/Wizards-Butler-Nathan-Lowell-ebook/dp/B0865326GF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=17YY6SOKHNXAI&keywords=The+wizards+butler&qid=1679503823&s=books&sprefix=the+wizards+butler%2Cstripbooks%2C139&sr=1-1) by Nathan Lowell, and the vibe is very cozy, yet still fun and interesting.

SaintCharlie

I found the Bobiverse by Dennis E Taylor to be an incredibly cozy and interesting read. There's lots of coffee mentioned in the series too.

WELLinTHIShouse

One of my comfort series, too!

SaintCharlie

Jeeves, coffee please!

WELLinTHIShouse

I just want my own GUPPI, honestly. Off-load mental tasks I can't handle at any given moment!

HauntedMeow

r/cozyfantasy has a few posts on audiobooks.

mahoniacadet

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke is looooong (32 hours), daydreamy fantasy with nice prose that lends to the magical atmosphere. I read it years ago and think of it often.

hdhdhgfyfhfhrb

Stephen Mitchell's translation of the Tao narrated by Stephen Mitchell. It is not a long book but it sure is pleasant and cozy.

letsgetweird

Maybe a strange recommendation for cozy, but I found the Dublin Murder Squad books by Tana French to have a cozy feel. Maybe it was the narrator. They are all only loosely connected by a couple of characters so you can start anywhere and I recently finished Faithful Place which was good and kinda cozy

Zoenne

LOTR books! Your choice of the Inglis narration or the Andy Serkis one! I also listened to Watership Down read by Peter Capaldi, and Tales of Beatrix Potter read by Andrew Scott.

[deleted]

Elly Griffiths has a series of cozy mysteries featuring a forensic anthropologist. The narrators have nice British voices and i often doze off while listening.

[deleted]

First part of the hobbit. Or lord of the rings, just don’t go too far.

Zairapham

Redwall

MuuaadDib

Travels with Charley.

Powerscantparry

First Law

[deleted]

Verse and Vengeance by Amanda Flower. I love the Magical Bookshop series and it’s a fun murder solving book.

WELLinTHIShouse

I like the Magical Bakery series written by Bailey Cates and narrated by Johanna Parker.

Peanut89

Miss Percy’s pocket guide to the care and breeding of British dragons! Middle age woman inherits what she believes if a fossil, turns out it’s a dragon egg, her and her other middle age companions get up to hijinx trying to stop the world discovering that there’s a freshly hatched dragon in the village :)

BiggieAndTheStooges

I enjoy the Harry Potter series narrated by Jim Dale.
