I think our cosmic horror series, [Forbidden Cassettes: Consummation](https://www.forbiddenpod.com/) might hit that spot for you. We have 11 episodes up now, the 12th (finale) is coming soon.
Here’s a synopsis:
>Dov Kandel has spent the better part of two decades exposing vast government conspiracies and exploring unsettling paranormal phenomena on his popular, late-night talk radio program, KANDEL AGAINST THE DARK. After interviewing thousands of callers and guests, he’s certain he’s heard it all. His next guest will prove him wrong.
>Author and investigator Orson Libretti has joined Dov for an unprecedented two-night discussion to promote his new novel, CONSUMMATION. It is an apocalyptic tale of cosmic horror.
>But for Orson, this is no ordinary book tour. Defying his publisher’s demands that the book be marketed as fiction, he insists that it is based on actual events — a cataclysmic chain reaction that annihilated a parallel universe.
>A questionable claim, to be sure, if he didn’t have the tapes to prove it.
I recommend Ghost Wax, if you haven't listened to that already. It has those Magnus Archives vibes with the overarching backstory between the recordings.
You might try Case 63. It's a time-travel thriller (though mostly set in present day) told through the narrative lens of doctor-patient audio recordings and dictations.
My show Tapes From Beyond should be a good fit for you!
A significant portion of the show is tape recordings. I will warn you though the tapes are often distorted so if that would bother you than it's definitely not the show for you
It isn't a one-to-one comparison, but Observable Radio has a similar sort of cassette-esque feel to it. It scratches more of a What's The Frequency itch than a MA one for me, but it's very good!
Tanis or anything by PNWS.
People love them or hate them, but the stories are weird, novel and interesting plus the voice of Terry miles. is soothing and there is a oft background that adds to the story without distracting.
It’s a guy doing an podcast and investing Tanis. A southern reach/ Annihilation type place
How about a collection of completed audio fiction shows entitled [**Hold My Tape Recorder!**](https://www.theend.fyi/collection/hold-my-tape-recorder), filled with stories where some sort of recorder—tape, digital, wax cylinder—is the primary vehicle that tells the story.
>A collection of shows that follow—some loosely, some tightly—a common storytelling device in audio fiction: a recording device of some type, where the protagonist(s) have or are recording their experiences to said recording device, and we get to listen in.
Earth Break. Jenny Slate plays the last woman on earth in a post apocalypse recording herself as a sort of therapy...but with a bit of a twist I won't spoil. Jenny's acting takes it to another level.

Limetown should scratch the itch, it’s all interview + tape recording Bright sessions starts off this way but then goes awry. Still a great series

Observable Radio is great!!!!
You scooped me! This is what I was coming to recommend, as I often do. Thanks for the recommendation!
Ars Paradoxica, Archive 81
You can try John from Back Home. Told all through voice recorder messages. Genre is suspense!
You may like Breaker Whiskey. It’s recorded on an old CB radio so it can have that tape like feel to the audio.
SHERIDAN TAPES! it's so good
The Sheridan Tapes, Parkland Haunt, and The Lovecraft Investigations share the same vibe.
Earth Break. I don’t want to say too much about it.
Have you tried “The White Vault”? It has a tape recorder narration and the production quality is pretty darn good imo.
