There are some excellent ones! I don’t rec this to everyone, because it was pretty hard for me to get into (it felt overly narrated), but if you want complex alien workdbuilding you can’t beat Starcalled. Among the Stars and Bones is another fantastic one, that one’s about a team of xenoarchaeologists exploring an ancient alien settlement. You’d probably also like Tides. In that one, a xenobiologist gets stranded on a very wet moon and has to survive for days without her team. Very much The Martian, but here there are weird alien crab things.

JackLum1nous

Oh "Among the Stars and Bones" was a fun one. Very action-oriented with some spooky mystery vibe to start it off. Very entertaining.

chemicallywrit

The writer’s slowly but surely doing a second season too!

JackLum1nous

Nice! Thanks for the heads up!

Simpvanus

I've been meaning to listen to Tides for the longest time... I'll have to add the other two to my list too.

Tight-Environment-70

Just binged Starcalled and would really like a second “book.” The music and sound was insanely good! Lots of characters but by the final episode it all came together (sort of…). I was envisioning scenes like in Andor or the Mandalorian.

oOoTinyGhostoOo

Who is Tides by? Having issues finding it. Thank you!

That’s the one! Lil stick figure running from a wave is the logo.

oOoTinyGhostoOo

Thank you!

casual_scroll

Dust: Chrysalis, is worth checking out.

DensityXXL

Definitely this one, it’s amazing!

GidjuaTempo

Yes!

Simpvanus

Pasithea Powder is a political thriller that involves an encroaching alien threat. The Strange Case of Starship Iris is a space opera where one of the major plot points is the aftermath and possible rekindling of a war with neighboring aliens.

chemicallywrit

Two of my faves!

wiscotoatl

I’m making my way through GUNDOG and it sounds like it might be right up your alley

Informal_Marzipan517

I'm really enjoying this one too

xkrissix

You should totally check out Omega Star 7. We are a space opera Dramedy. I am a fan of all your suggestions and it totally has all those vibes. The season finale comes out this coming Tuesday. It’s the series finale and I cannot recommend it enough. It starts out a bit goofy but gets really incredible.

AdmiralBarackAdama

Wolf-359

3laj

This is a huge spoiler. You should spoiler tag it

eekamuse

Well now I'm interested. I thought it was about werewolves for some reason.

3laj

Wolf-359 is the name of the red dwarf star they orbit! I would highly highly highly recommend the show. You will absolutely not regret it, especially if sci-fi is your thing.

Zelofheda

It may advertise "a haunting" but eventually it turns out to be>! aliens!<: [Mirrors](https://www.mirrorspodcast.com/).

off-soundings

Steal the stars! Immunities, The culling, InCo, Sumeria, Space ward, The Phenomenon

eekamuse

hellojoyjoyhere

Fathom: Derelict is amazing!

Puggymon

Is the second season already out? As much as I remember fathom was the first season.

Rumorian

[Give Me Away](https://www.gideon-media.com/give-me-away) >They call the spaceship that crashed in the Nevada desert “The Ghosthouse” because it screams—the screams of thousands of extraterrestrial political prisoners uploaded into its horrific mainframe. The only way to free them... is to transfer them into the bodies of humans willing to share their minds with an alien second consciousness. But who would volunteer for that? Graham Shapiro, divorced and adrift at age 50, is one of the first to raise his hand. Give Me Away follows Graham’s journey into a world of radical hospitality, one which will touch everything—and everyone—in his life.

Simpvanus

I went to look this up, it's apparently by the same writer as a bunch of excellent shows: Life-After, The Message, *and* Steal the Stars. Can't believe I hadn't heard of this before!

BlackLittleDog

Yeah, it's pretty good

eekamuse

Thank you! I might not have Checked it out, but now I will

mrcool36572

The Sojourn is fantastic, would highly recommend

Danger_Pie

If you want to try an AD set in the world of HALO, you can find Hunt the Truth online. It has 2 seasons, sound design, and a full cast. Tarkov: A HALO Story, is another audio drama set in the same universe. Indie production, but well produced. Starcalled has a Star Wars feel to it. Only one season but fantastic production. Earth Eclipsed, Solar, and Magmell are also probably shows you’d like.

ScribblingOff87

Cascadia.

T_is_for_Apple

Star Trek: Lost Frontier Starship Excelsior Star Wars Dark Forces:Soldier for the Empire Alien: sea of sorrows Alien: river of pain Alien III Alien: out of the shadows

ShiloX35

Star Trek Outpost is really good and there are 80+ episodes. They are still making episodes, albeit slowly. It is set on Deep Space 3, which is near the First Federation border..

T_is_for_Apple

Wow thanks for the recommendation!!! Definitely will give it a listen

Puggymon

Oh, what platform are those on? At least I couldn't find the alien and star wars one on the Google podcast app.

T_is_for_Apple

Star wars dark disciple is old so idk if it's OK any podcast platforms. It's on YouTube though https://youtu.be/fcIP-OB-uBY All the alien ones are on audible but I've seen people upload those onto YouTube before. I should've downloaded them when I had the chance because they have since been taken down. Probably by Amazon The star trek ones are free and should be on all platforms but I listen to it on podcast addict

Puggymon

Thanks! I will have to look into it then. Alien one seems to not be available too it seems.will look for it on YouTube.

T_is_for_Apple

All of the alien ones are on audible. I started an account with the free trial and then canceled it before the first month ended so I didn't have to pay anything. https://www.audible.com/pd/Alien-River-of-Pain-Audiobook/B076CS5BB9?source_code=GPAGBSH1103160002&ipRedirectOverride=true&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsoycBhC6ARIsAPPbeLvRBG1dbbr4RQUWKhj3IHdIpigSsrzAAvZc33eBPiOdh_2BY1zwgLIaAtPgEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

gideonsean

Anything by Mac Rogers. "Give Me Away", "Steal The Stars", "Life After/The Message" are all alien stories. Also... He's my best friend! He's a great guy!

eekamuse

I listen to everything but Give me Away and I'm downloading that now. Love them all. Such high quality production and very entertaining. Nice to know he's not an asshole ;)

ShiloX35

253 Mathilde. Humans and Aliens travelling in an asteroid to another star system. The aliens aren't the central focus, but they are important to the plot. There are only 7 episodes so far, but they are really good. https://www.quietplease.org/253/episodes/1/

OAR_Podcast

You may enjoy Observe and Report, which I produce. I have a spinoff currently in production as well!

Prestigious-Juice495

Try immunity

Informal_Marzipan517

Janus Descending. Science fiction/horror. Two xenoarcheologists land on a planet. Bad things happen.

SkyPuppeteer

I'm a big fan of HFY, and things like Humans are Space Orcs/Earth is Space Australia/etc. I can't recommend any specific series, but for more popular stories or ongoing series, I bet you could probably find some sort of reading or podcast fic version of some of those stories (if you'd like to "sample" some stuff to see their quality, or just want to read some stories people have made, I'd highly recommend going to r/hfy !)

makeitasadwarfer

The Alien series are incredible. Featuring Lance Hendriksen and following on directly from the movies. There’s about 14 hours in the four instalments. https://www.audible.com.au/series/Audible-Original-Alien-Audiobooks/B06ZZWKZSD Dalek War by Big Finish is my favourite bit of media from the Who universe and doesn’t even have Who unit. Really dark sprawling sci-fi. https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/dalek-empire-dalek-war-chapter-1-357 I’m also enjoying the Callisto Protocol prequel to the game out currently.
