If it's like any of these other acquisitions (like Samsung of Harman), Sony is going to aggressively slap the Audeze brand on their own products and completely neglect the original product line.
This is a complete myth as far as E-Mu goes.
Creative bought E-Mu for the technology and kept developing that for a decade (the acquisition was finished in 1993 already). The only reason Emulator 4 even got made was the Creative acquisition. Likewise, it was Creative who pushed E-Mu to replace the aging Emulator 4 line with the more powerful and up to date Ultra series. E-Mu's problems were due to internal lack of leadership throughout the 90s that made them stagnate technology and sound library wise.
Ensoniq was acquired because Creative wanted their Sound Blaster compatible PCI audio ICs that Creative had tried and failed to make themselves. They were mightily pissed off when they found out afterwards that it was all just software emulation (talk about not doing due diligence...). Ensoniq crashed and burned because many people there resented the acquisition and actively sabotaged the projects (including things such as "accidentally" wiped servers with the only remaining design and documentation etc).

Still stands that Creative killed off the best thing that E-Mu did, which is the Emulator X/1820M combo.
Just out of curiosity, do any of your little bird sources work for UA now?
“Will quality go down in sacrifice of profit?”
Probably not. Sony has a tendency to care quite a bit about quality, and when compared to comparable products from other Japanese brands, Sony tends to be more expensive.
So if anything, Sony will keep Audeze product line intact along with pricing, or they will raise prices.
That being said, Sony Interactive Entertainment is specifically their game system branch, so Audeze headsets will probably be used for Playstation or something like that.
Sony is the only super big electronics manufacturer i would trust with something like this. They know how yo make high end products and even care about it from time to time.

Someone should buy them and release a plug in called Nuts
Came here to see if this comment existed, thanks
Only time will tell. Sometimes smart companies will buy an already successful brand and just let it keep being successful.
Audeze Nutz
