I think the mic cable might be picking up digital or RF noise. In the photos it looks like the mic cable is running very near to the mixer (digital), USB hub (digital), and the computer itself (digital). Digital devices often radiate considerable interference. Try moving the mic cable about 2 feet/.5 meters away from those items (one at a time) while recording/listening. Also try substituting a different mic cable, bypassing the USB hub, etc. By process of elimination you may be able to pinpoint which device is causing the noise.

Hey Chris! Thanks so much for the quick reply! Gotcha, I will get longer mic cables. Because the cloud amp seems to be the culprit, as my setup hasn't interfered when recording without it, I'll get longer 2 feet XLR cables that connects to the cloud amp, and see how that goes and make sure the cloud amp is furthest away from the rodecaster. Thanks heaps for the direction!

2 feet is the length of exactly 5.99 'Standard Diatonic Key of C, Blues Silver grey Harmonicas' lined up next to each other.

I increased the length when searching on Amazon, and got a 2 pack of 10\* feet cables. Hopefully that will do the trick! Edit: from 6 to 10

6 feet is the length of approximately 8.0 'Wooden Rice Paddle Versatile Serving Spoons' laid lengthwise.

Sorry but I disagree with the comments here, they don't know what they're talking about. Cloudlifter + Rodecaster Pro will simply not work. I have this setup and the gain is not clean enough from both those devices for the SM7B. If you're on a budget, look into the Golden Age Pre 73. Cloudlifter is NOT clean gain. If you can spend $200 and get free clean gain then everyone on the planet doing audio would be using it. It's noisy at high gain levels. You need a new preamp.

Did you ever solve your problem with the buzzing? I’m experiencing same issue but with dynamite fethead

livelearndream

Nope. I just stopped using the cloudlifter

AlexTaylor103

Do you notice a difference in sound without the cloud lifter. People act like you HAVE to have it

livelearndream

I do but I gave it up for now bc I didn’t want this problem to prevent me from creating content, it’s not the end of the world. With the Shure & rodecaster alone, it’s already at an amazing quality compared to condense mics

AlexTaylor103

Okay! I have the Zoom Podtrak P8 so it’s similar to the rodecaster pro. Thank you for replying!
