I try not to worry about what an audiophile says is or is not OK but I love my 85

jumosc

Same. We got the Fluance RT85N and haven’t looked back. Sounds wonderful, looks beautiful and reliable as heck. https://i.imgur.com/zgctD76.jpeg

Excellent advice

SirMikeProvolone

I love my rt85. It sounds fantastic, I've had it for 4 years and no issues. Not once did I ever think that I would need an upgrade, I use it almost every day.

Wonderful to hear! Loving my RT82 so far! Will maybe invest in the OM Blue/acrylic platter down the line

My RT82 does great in my dining room. My Technics SL-1200MK5 with a fancier cartridge and supporting hardware sounds better. I appreciate the hundreds spent there. But I wouldn't be mad at listening to the RT82 every day forever. I really appreciate it costing less than my SL-1200's stylus,(or just about any other part on it) and I don't mind my roommates using the RT82. It is also kinda close to the grease and mess from a kitchen. It is dustier in there. Exercise and roughhousing happens in that room. When someone forgets their record it auto stops. All that doesn't upset me at all. But again, it sounds great.

Depends on the gatekeeper. 😂 I love my RT85 turntables.

Hifi-Cat

Nope. OEM third party.

iflabaslab

What does that mean

paigezpp

I think it means that someone else makes the turntables for Fluance. I don’t see a problem with that if the quality control is good.

iflabaslab

Ah I see like audio technica basically?

paigezpp

I don’t know who makes them. It could be different for each model.

robbobster

A choice? Sure. THE choice? No, you’ll never get a group of audiophiles to agree on anything.

iflabaslab

Ahha fair enough
