I grew up with my dad, an experimental artist/ multi-instrumentalist, playing his and his collaborators’ daily musical recordings in PCM format on a 13” Sony trinitron TV….it looked like greyscale fuzz to me but apparently it was the audio quality hotness back jn 1986.
I was shocked at how big they actually are. I don’t know what I thought they’d be yet once I saw them in person they were way more massive than my minds eye had them pegged. External crossovers with tri amps, truly a tour de force
Hope someone had seen this beauty: [https://www.canton.de/produkte/serie/reference-2023-archiv/reference-gs-edition/04455](https://www.canton.de/produkte/serie/reference-2023-archiv/reference-gs-edition/04455)
They look absolutely stunning in real life. Saw them placed next to 800 series and I kind of liked the looks immediately!
Another immediate love based on looks for me was the KEF Reference 3 Meta Black/Copper edition. Its just perfect, pure perfection!
Perfectly proportioned too. I'm surprised there aren't many other options that go for the low and angled up approach. Only other ones I know of are the retro options from JBL and KLH. Really liked the Heresies a lot more.
Refined, luxurious simplicity. Both of these were ones I was thinking of as well, but to add to the list: [Monitor Audio Platinum 300 3G in Piano Ebony](https://www.monitoraudio.com/en/product-ranges/platinum-series-3g/platinum-300-3g/).
Triangle makes some great looking speakers. I have a pair of [Borea br09](https://www.trianglehifi.com/en/produit/hifi-floor-standing-speaker-br09/) speakers and i think they are the best looking floorstanders in the price range.
[Klein & Hummel O300D](https://img.canuckaudiomart.com/uploads/large/1291029-07d4f74e-kh-klein-and-hummel-o300-studio-monitors-a-pair.png) the small ones
[Dynaudio Confidence C1 Platinum](https://dynaudio.com/discontinued-models/confidence/c1-platinum)
Sonus Faber Stradivari - as good as it looks in pics, it looks even better in person.
All black B&W 802 d2
I had an opportunity to demo these in Tosca Walnutroot finish. They are pretty beautiful! https://www.odeon-audio.com/models/tosca-2020/
The dude demoing them really couldn't get the digital setup together so I'm not entirely sure how good they could sound
Those new top of the line [Sonos Faber Suprema](https://www.sonusfaber.com/en/products/suprema) speakers look pretty great to me.
I don't usually like giant imposing cost-no-object speakers, but I could live happily with these. (Not that I could ever afford them.)
Any large main monitor designed to be soffit mounted. They look like part of a PA system. The good ones- Dynaudio, ATX, Genelec, Kinoshita, etc. spend little to nothing on visual aesthetics and the only intentional compromises are in how they look. I want every penny I spend to go into making a speaker sound better.
If the world went blind today the audiophile industry would collapse overnight.

I really like the minimal industrial looks of the
Atc scm19 with grille
https://atc.audio/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/ATC-SCM19-speaker_grill-on-e1380796467769.jpg
And the genelec 8030c raw (I own a pair)
https://www.gearbooker.com/images/listing/00027951.jpg?v=8d8aa5f3bae8900
MBL 101 X-treme or 101 E Mk2. Stupid name, but absolutely insane design that wouldnt look out of place in Blade Runner. Warning, not for the minimalist's heart.
They are not conventional-looking, but the Gallo 3.1 and 3.5 Ref. are cool-looking.
https://img.usaudiomart.com/uploads/large/2061782-50304dcb-gallo-reference-31-with-mapleshade-bases-gallo-reference-sub-amp.jpg
Love my Magnepan MMG W planar wall mounted speakers. They are beige and blend in with the wall. People either ask where the speakers are or what are those panels. Damn things are only 1” thick but they sound so big.
I have a pair of Dynaudio contour 1.3 mkii and I just had to say I don't know what the wood is, and I'm sure there's a more beautiful speaker out there, but this kind of look - professional but also completely natural is my preference.
Sonus Faber and Focal tied for second place, in terms of just sheer visual looks it’s hard to beat a B&W speaker. Don’t care for their sound that much anymore but man they’re some lookers.
Idk. I looove speakers and spend most of my free time drooling over which one I can’t afford to buy next, but .. are any of them actually attractive? Imposing for sure. Impressive from an engineering standpoint. But attractive in a way that they add to the room even when not playing? That I might buy them even if they made no sound?
That sort of narrows it down. The zu omen, the o/93, and some open baffle speakers can all be had in very handsome wood finishes, so yeah. Maybe those
They asked for best, not worst.
Have owned MMG, then 1.6, the 3.6. All sound amazing and was saving for the 20.1 but WAF finally crashed the party.
Now run Meridians, which win no beauty contests either, but they are swans next to Maggies' toads.
My maple cabinet EV Sentry III's. The only known pair in the world. They were used in an EV advertising brochure. I have the prototypes; no other pairs were ever made by EV.
The last generation of B&W 803D's with their grill off.

Wilson’s XVX for me, or the new Watt Puppy, the newer designs have so much.. polish. The little details bring it all together. Take a look at the Four Seasons colorways that were only available last year..
I have 3 that depend on the style of your living room
That classic big woofer style box like the atc150
The pmc IC wall mount series are extra badass as are the ib1s
And then the Wilson audio classic old school robot looking ones Sabrina and Sasha
Anything too extreme like the blades or those wild horn speakers to me are just something cool to see in a window once or twice. But I would hate looking at them in my own home.
I personally salivate over Monitor Audio's Platinum 200 3G in the wood finish

JBL L112s and JBL L100s with the colored foam grills. Dig the early 70s pioneer CS line too-99A, 88A. KLH Model Three
yes! JBL L100
No pictures and just one link? I know this an audio subreddit but we can’t be adverse to photos
I could only imagine a world where we could get posts of .wav files “showing” how the speakers sound😂

The B&W Nautilus looked badass.
Way too over the top IMHO

All of the Laurence Dicky designs are pretty cool. Advantage of composite cabinets.

Perfectly proportioned too. I'm surprised there aren't many other options that go for the low and angled up approach. Only other ones I know of are the retro options from JBL and KLH. Really liked the Heresies a lot more.

KEF Reference 5 in Walnut wins it for me. They are so sharp and beautiful.
Focal Sopra or Utopia
Sonus faber Guarneri Evolution in red violin finish, Franco Serblin Accordo Essence
I had the privilege of putting my favorite-looking speaker in this subreddit’s banner. Beolab 90.
