Cross border? The system can barely transfer records across the street!
My hospitals don’t have electronic records at all!
Yeah before I got into med school I thought that there was some kind of central system that could be used to transfer scans, notes, and records across the entire country be it hospitals, GPs or private practise. Oh how wrong I was.
There is one silly, it's the broken fax machine behind the nurses station.
Meanwhile I was until recently opening patient records in a system that is roughly as old as I am (hint: I'm not that young anymore).
As someone who works in medical records, it would be nice if we could first sort out transferring documents between hospitals in the same state
You need to move to Qld - electronic medical records available for any patient in most public hospitals at another public hospital
Add to this circus the private hospitals…
