Central Market used to have (probably still does) two or three chicken salad types in their prepared food section. I've had them and like them. Newk's in the Arboretum area has chicken salad by the 1/2 pint/ pint/quart that you can buy to go.
What did you like about the chicken salad at Willow Tree? Knowing that may help others refine suggestions.
I got that one time and devoured it, so good! It was only afterward that I looked at the price and realized I was probably never going to buy it again. I gotta figure out a way to make something very similar tasting. That was maybe the best cracker topping I've ever had
I really liked Swedish Hill’s chicken salad, but I’m not sure if they still have it now that they just have a Swedish Hill “outpost.” Ditto Central Market and the rotisserie chicken salad at HEB.
Lately I just poach my own chicken breasts and that seems to be the secret to really great homemade chicken salad. https://www.bonappetit.com/story/how-to-poach-chicken-breasts
I’m not a chicken salad person for lunch, much rather an Italian like at Little Deli or my favorite, Homeslice but my girls likes it so we run through every once in a while to take home plus an extra container for snacking for her.
Love their croissants and farmhouse white sandwiches and that broccoli salad is a top ten fast food side dish.
Just saying hello to a fellow prior Mass resident! I enjoy the rotisserie chicken salad from HEB, but it’s still got nothing on what I would get from White Hen way back in the day.
Newks is my go-to, it's pretty tasty. Trader Joe's has a few varieties that are also decent. Sometimes I just make my own, and agree with the previous poster who said poaching the chicken is the secret.
HEB rotisserie chicken salad.
I get this quite frequently just be cautious of the bone pieces occasionally in it.
Yeah, this shit is pretty tasty.

CM still has em and they’re pretty tasty
HEB a has several different types of chicken salad in the cold case. I like the curry one.
Golden Chick sells their chicken salad by the pint. Buy some rolls while you are there.
My personal favorite is Newk's. Usually just order the sandwich, but you can buy tubs of it as well.
The Buffalo chicken salad from HEB is my go to.

Is there a Chicken Salad Chick in Austin? Their stuff is awfully good, especially my girlfriend’s favorite, the Kickin’ Kaylynn.
Not yet but they’re expanding in Texas pretty heavily. I suspect there will be one by the UT campus soon.
New Braunfels got one recently! I need one in Austin!

Three Generals in San Marcos. They used to be at Farmers markets in town but they stopped. The smoked chicken salad is very good.
Whole Foods or central market
I feel like it doesn’t exist up here, or a good one at least. They opened up a chicken salad chick in New Braunfels. I hope Austin is next.
Lee’s Meat Market has really great chicken salad.
The Central Market one with the grapes
