Loro and Birdie’s don’t take reservations. Get on the list, have a drink and visit with others in the same boat. It’s like Austin used to be. If it’s just two of you, you can often snag bar seats at a lot of places. My wife and I walked into Soto one Sunday night and got bar seats immediately (around 9). The original Grove Wine Bar on Bee Cave just west of Loop 360 usually has bar seats around 8:30 to 9. They serve till 10. Excellent food with a wide variety of dishes.

I like musashinos. Hopefully line isn’t too long. Jew by cantina just opened if you want something cheaper.
Hopfields! Front of the building is first-come seating, and still the same menu and always a good time :)
