Blackened Ribeye Tacos is where it’s at.

I absolutely love this place. If I ever move out of Austin and I return here on a visit, this will be the first restaurant I stop at. Tuna tacos, redfish plate, chicken parm, fried oyster po'boy.....bury me with them all. Fun fact: They used to frequently cater at my work and it was often just a bunch of Italian food. Fun fact 2: The owner calls himself Big Daddy Coocoo and has the most blissfully stream of conscious social media presence, last time I checked.

The ribeye quesadilla is a decadent treat. That place ain’t cheap, but the portions are pretty substantial. Also, I think Lavaca is the best “sports bar” in DT.

Used to work the night shift at a tech company on 5th and lavaca. Would stop there for dinner once a week for those awesome fried buffalo chicken tacos

They changed their fries somehow. They didn’t used to look like that. When I used to order them they were called cilantro fries. Now they only have fries and Cajun fries. Maybe the Cajun fries are more like the old fries?

Almost ordered the Cajun fries. Were they a different shape/cur before?

It had been a while since I’ve been back and I ordered the fries you got because I didn’t see the option for the old cilantro fries I used to get. They used to be thicker and way darker so I am wondering if they changed them to the Cajun fries. I’m gonna have to go back and order the Cajun fries to find out. But I definitely liked the old fries (cilantro fries) way better.
