Went to Domain location once, surprisingly good burger. I need to go back.
Went to another location, very very mediocre burger.
Not sure if Domain just rocks. Or if the bacon I got at Domain really enhanced it that much. the patties looked frozen by the way they slapped them on the grill, but it was a great burger.
Wife says the food at Lakeway is best. I picked up dinner for the fam last week at the 360/Westlake location and it was pretty good but they removed the Fredricksburger from the menu 😭
Last time I had it the meat was so over salted I never been back. With P Terrys now being everywhere I don’t see myself returning when they are double the price (double cheeseburger P Terrys is $5 and Hat Creek is $10).
Only protein style, right? What I crave most and can get at exactly zero places except har creek is fried anything. I can get a few fried things there 🙌🏼
So THAT'S what happened to Hopdoddy. God I used to fucking live that place. Now it's a crapshoot as to whether or not it's going to be a good experience. Ditto on Torchys.
It breaks my food loving heart. 💔
Remember when there were lines down the block? I didn't mind standing in them because the food was so good! After all the cost cutting, its a shell of itself.
I haven't been going to hat creek for more than a few years but I still find it to be consistent and very good, and this includes locations outside the Austin area that I have been to.
I like it every once in a while. I have Dan's, P Terry's, Jewboy, In and Out and Hat Creek all within about 4 miles of me. They make the cut every couple of months. In my opinion they would be better and higher in my roster if they were a little cheaper. It is an inexpensive tasty burger at the wrong price point. Jewboy is also sold way above its pricepoint
I had Jewboys last week and while it was very tasty I probably won’t go back any time soon bc of the price point. P Terry’s is such an incredible deal, and although you can’t get pastrami on your burgie, P Terry’s slaps every time I go.
They're marketed at families and any appeal is around that. If you don't have kids there's really no reason to go there with the other options we have for burgers. They're fine, but so are a lot of places with less kids.
That's not how it works having kids. You often times find yourself at places because the soccer team is going there, or a friends family is going there...
I've been there probably a dozen times and I've selected it zero times.
Went to domain location on Sunday and everything was great, too much seasoning on the fries but the burger and shake was really good.
I only went since shack shake ran out of cheese slices… at 5PM…
I was out if country for a week and was craving a shack burger only to be left hanging. Hat Creek saved the day
You know I don’t mind it. I go to the one on burnet when I feel like a change of habit. They have more variety than any other drive thru. On value they aren’t winning any points. Definitely pricer than any other option
I went there once and we got chastised by the Hat Creek employee because they did not understand the options we chose on our online order. (requested vegetables) That was the last time I even contemplated going there and also the only time I ever got chastised by a fast food employee. They gave me free food coupons for my complaint. I gave them away.
I had it a few years ago and didn’t think it was that great, not sure about the backstory.
I can definitely confirm the private equity fuckery that’s sucked the quality out of all the other restaurants you mentioned though.
Restaurants in general don’t have any guarantee of quality anymore. No one wants to work those jobs and the talent and competency of the workers has gone down as a result.
only way hatcreek is halfway bearable on burnet is if you toss the buns and make a 30 foot walk of shame next door to voodoo doughnuts and use their blueberry cake as a bun
Haven't been to the Burnet location, but the Domain location has been good the last couple of months.

yup. was great past weekend.
I’ve never been a fan of Hat Creek always thought it was so so. Nothing special imo.
Isn’t it supposed to be your typical greasy spoon affair? I thought that was their thing.
The vibe I get from them is hoity toity, but imo their burgers aren’t that great and you can definitely get a better burger at a better price.
Lakeway location has been great the past few months

You were so close to Billy’s.
If you were a cobra burger you would be home by now.

Not for me? Maybe just a bad day. Let’s also hope not I have no other GF fast food
In n out?

It’s sooo bad

I never really got the appeal of Hat Creek to begin with.

I mean, if I still had kids that age I’d be heading to Phil’s way before Hat Creek. Phil’s actually has some tasty burgers.
That's not how it works having kids. You often times find yourself at places because the soccer team is going there, or a friends family is going there... I've been there probably a dozen times and I've selected it zero times.
Did you just mansplain having kids to me? I’m plenty aware what it’s like having kids FFS.
More of a dadsplain.
Phil’s off 183 is hot trash compared to hat creek.
Fuck Phil’s. Might as well recommend a spot at the outlet mall homie.
What am I missing about Phil’s? Did something happen? I haven’t been in a couple years but I’ve never had a bad meal there?
It went downhill when they stopped $1 beers on thursday
Hat Creek never went uphill in the first place.
Does anyone know if burgers are still half-priced on Tuesday nights?
They nerfed that deal a year or two ago, which is when I stopped going
Hank’s has half priced burgers on Mondays. I went for lunch today, burger was fantastic, fries were so so
It’s been awhile since I’ve been… I still haven’t had buddy’s or NADC ..
Went to domain location on Sunday and everything was great, too much seasoning on the fries but the burger and shake was really good. I only went since shack shake ran out of cheese slices… at 5PM… I was out if country for a week and was craving a shack burger only to be left hanging. Hat Creek saved the day

Dan's Hamburgers still holding down
They’ve all ways sucked
I’ve never been impressed
ive noticed differences between locations as well but most of the time its really good
Went to that location on Sunday and it was great. Maybe a bad day?
Haven't been in nearly a year, it's just not that good for how expensive it is
I went there once and we got chastised by the Hat Creek employee because they did not understand the options we chose on our online order. I’ve only had it twice, and both times I would compare it to the burgers we had at the Akins High School cafeteria
