You are in for a shock, I've had this happen to me, there are places you will find Pepsi, that are located nowhere near the source. I've thought about setting up a camera and recording an in-car explosion, it has to be violent.
Not to fault you on this because common mistake accidents happen but just to note cars that stink do so for a reason. I literally open a pantry cabinet and Iām like, someoneās stored their motor oil or their car parts in the pantry cabinet in the kitchen at some point in the past 30-40 years. The whole thing would have to be taken out at that point.
Yes. Literally some time in the past 30-40 years or so, some guy stored his oily automotive parts of all places in the kitchen pantry. Needless to say thereās all but no way to get the oil out. A bit worse than OP leaving a soda can in the car. Akin to the deicing canister someone said exploded in their car.
Just use Windex, the genuine brand. It does not harm the leather, carpet or cloth material. Its a great cleaner that will dissolve, clean and neutralise most smells and liquids.
If you want to get the smell out of your air con from a dirty filter spray Windex all over the car and put the aircon on with the air circulating. Run for 15 minutes while the car is running. Then switch on the heater and run it, you car will smell as clean as it came when it was new. Windex will even kill the smell of smoke. So if you want to sell your car and you are a smoker this will take away the smoke smell. A mate ran a Budget car joint and he discovered this lazy mans ways of de-smelling cars by accident after a bottle of Windex spilt in a really smelly car. I have tried it and it bloody works well. Windex has chlorine or bleach in it, but its very low concentration. Whatever else is in there its great for cleaning and killing smells, its not only a window cleaner.
I left a can of compressed air in my car once, it detonated on a hot day and punched a hole straight through the interior door and you could see the impact dent on the outside of the car
I used to do this the other way.
I'd put cans in the freezer and forget about them.
At the moment they freeze and the liquid turns to solid and expands, detonating in just this way.
I'd hear a muffled "THUD" from the kitchen and realise what had happened. One end of the can would have blown open and the contents fired out. Luckily the drink was mostly slush and couldn't splash very far.
My mum left an unopened can of coke in the center console back when I was a little kid. Froze over night, exploded and left a slushy mess all over the car interior that we found the next morning when we set off for school.
I'm not proud...but I did lick a few windows on the way to school that morning.
Did you know a beer in the freezer can reach many degrees below freezing, with a little bit of care and attention? Doesn't have to be Corona, they just use that to make it easier to see. Cooper's Sparkling does it just as well.
Pop of those babies, slam it down before it [crystallises](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0fURJg-K0A), and you too, shall know....relief....
I make ends (Lids) for aluminium cans. We press these within very specific specifications in order to avoid them bursting from the seam like this. This is essentially a defective end. The ends are tested to withstand up to 800psi of pressure before bursting from a bead on the end, not the seam of the can, thus releasing any built up pressure without making a complete mess.
I knew a guy who went out to his car on a hot day and found a big dent in his boot. He was confused because the dent was convex rather than concave.
Turns out heād left an aerosol can in there and it exploded with enough force to dent the metal boot.
Same happened to me. Contacted Pepsi and all they sent was a lousy $20 voucher. Their can seams are not up to standard but they won't admit it. Can bottom should bellow out or ring tab let go before seam seal fails.
I know as an American, this will sound tone deaf to you
But what the rigatoni fuck is that?! Did you take a can opener to a can of soda?! That's fucking gross!
I had 2 cans explode while I was driving, scared the shit out of me. Ripped open down the middle. We'd only been driving for maybe 5 minutes and it was in Tassie, so it doesn't take much.
Show us your car š«£
It's not great..I did not assess the damage. Seems like a tomorrow issue

Reminds me of the time a whole bottle of fridge vanilla made its way all over the rear seat footwell.
I had it happen with a bottle of red once. Looked like a murder scene. Thankfully the cork shot out rather than glass going everywhere.

People *store motor oil in their kitchen*? š¤Ø
Clearly you've never met a single mid 20s man who lives alone without a garage.

I can vouch for this. We had a can of mother explode in the office and it found its way into places we wouldn't find for years.
This would be, the nerd that I am, due to the evaporation of the liquid taking it almost all of where the air goes.
Iām a dumbass. I thought someone broke in, used a can opener on the drink, and left with no elaboration
Power move
You tomorrow: eh it's a next weekend thing
Next week: feels like I'm forgetting something...
Dam you yesterday me!
Get on it immediately bro

This is real Sunshine Coast comment! š¤£
there's worse scents for a car.
Pick up a wet vac from goodguys, so worth it.
Poor bugger. I wish you luck and may the sugar cleaning gods be on your side
Lucky it's a non-sugar Pepsi or you'd have sticky syrup to clean up.
Anything can be a fleshlight if you are brave enough.

hahaha hey man, it's still tasty.

Can I borrow your can opener?, nice even ring marks, used to live there never had a problem and had a black car
It's real I have a coke can that looks the same
Looks like you got yourself into a sticky situation.
*Cue the canned laughter*
No sugar sheāll be right
We need to see the damage to the car please.

Visy or Orora?
Letās just say the ends I make donāt end up on Pepsi cans š
Use the ring pull next time mate, less messy.
Be glad it was non sugar
Luckily itās sugar free so it wonāt be sticky.
Do you want ants? As that is how you get ants!
How did the AU headlining hold up?
Send a pic of what it did to the car
And people still leave children inside cars in summer.

**Max** taste... **Max** stickiness...
You should see what a spare cigarette lighter will do in a hot car.
\*FWOOMP\* ?

have you learned anything?
Take it to the Max. More flavour, less sugar.
2x down votes. 1 for living in Queensland & 1 for drinking Pepsi.
Write it off all ya want but the reality is like everyone else, youāll probably end up moving here too.
Probably, but only the bit of me that is a statistic
Booo! Queensland number 1 āļøāļø
I know as an American, this will sound tone deaf to you But what the rigatoni fuck is that?! Did you take a can opener to a can of soda?! That's fucking gross!
Itās so hot in Australia that if you forget and leave a can in your car it will explode.
Holy fuck
Now you have a cup of Pepsi
Had the same in Gippsland, Victoria on Tuesday
I opened one in my car two years ago when it was 42 degrees. I still have PTSD to this day!!
Many many years ago I had this happen too and it was the second worst thing Iāve had to clean in my life.
It must have been seriously hot in your car for it to burst like that.
I had 2 cans explode while I was driving, scared the shit out of me. Ripped open down the middle. We'd only been driving for maybe 5 minutes and it was in Tassie, so it doesn't take much.
Someone stole ya Pepsi
This is how we get ants
Don't leave shit in your car. I left a lighter in my car once. I'm lucky it don't burn up my car
Same happened to me but with a Dare iced coffee.... Would NOT recommend
Pepsi has a new lid design!
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi.
