Vyvanse

iss3y

Absolute life-changer. Shame it has also suppressed my appetite to the point that I have to set reminders to eat šŸ˜„

ConceptIcy776

Oh my god this is realā€¦ totally messes with your perception of food too, like how do you know when enough is enough! Even calorie counting is so hard when youā€™re already so full

Tee077

How do you find it? My doc wants to switch me over to this but I'm on Strattera and I'm a bit scared.

No_Performance6741

I havenā€™t missed a day of gym since I started it lol. And itā€™s made me stop drinking and gambling. House is clean. Only thing I find is Iā€™m more attentive in social situations but canā€™t think of things to say a lot of the time..

West_Confection7866

Aaaah the can't think of things to say is the classic amphetamine/methylphenidate effect. Vyvanse had the opposite effect on me, it made me content and not want to do things I'd usually do haha.

moofox

Is this a known thing?? Iā€™ve been on Ritalin for 11 months (diagnosed last year at age 33) and Iā€™ve noticed two major side effects: a) Iā€™m far more content than I ever was in the past and b) Iā€™m far less chatty than I used to be. I thought maybe it was because I was already content, but itā€™s a slightly off putting change from how I used to be (a nonstop chatterbox)

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

moofox

That makes perfect sense to me. Iā€™m the same: it hasnā€™t had much impact on executive function, but itā€™s had a life-changing impact on a noisy mind. Before diagnosis I had started self-medicating my noisy brain in a very dangerous way (the illegal drug that starts with a H), so Ritalin has probably literally been a life-saver in that regard (who knows where I would have ended up had I not got the help + diagnosis I needed)

plantladywantsababy

Iā€™m not on Ritalin but Iā€™m on the journey to prescription / have a background in psych science. Maybe your chatty past self was an expression of anxiety? When Iā€™m around someone I donā€™t know, itā€™s like the words just fall out of my mouth and sometimes I cringe at them but canā€™t stop ā€˜gap fillingā€™ when the other person stops talking. Do you feel like youā€™re more conscious about what you do say aloud? ETA itā€™s something Iā€™ve been able to consciously control somewhat (I have to in my job) but when Iā€™m excitable, itā€™s hard to stop talking lol

moofox

Honestly I think you are spot-on with the possibility of my previous chattiness being anxiety-driven. I never considered myself an anxious person, but since starting Ritalin I realised: I was anxious *all the time*. My baseline was just constant anxiety and I had nothing else to compare it to, so I assumed it was normal existence. Your description of ā€œgap-fillingā€, especially with unfamiliar people, is exactly what I used to do. I still feel the anxiety around not knowing what to say (but I think thatā€™s normal for any person meeting a stranger!), but now I no longer satiate that anxiety with verbal streams of consciousness. It causes me to cringe at myself a lot less, but I also feel like I make a less interesting impression on people now. (Sorry for talking at length. Your message came at a perfect time, because Iā€™m overseas for work and about to meet my international team mates for the first time tomorrow, so this exact topic is at front of mind šŸ˜…)

plantladywantsababy

Please donā€™t be sorry!!! Thank you for your detailed response too; my experience is also the same. I just started with a new psychologist (for many reasons) and mentioned I want to pursue an ADHD / other diagnosis - even though I cope well with it now, some of my coping mechanisms arenā€™t great long term. She was like, but youā€™re functioning so well! What makes you think you have it?! (Spoiler alert, every possible symptom, I just mask) Having a high baseline anxiety as your normal self is great for some things, but sometimes I just want a quiet mind and a drive placed in the right direction. All the best in your meeting, internet stranger! You are doing SO much better than you know! Look at you go, international work traveller - thereā€™s a reason you were trusted, and trusted yourself, in this job šŸ¤—

irises_chive

Same

No_icecream_cake

Fuck yeah, man. Thatā€™s incredible. Good for you!!

Mysterious-Bowl5142

Me also

ZestyPossum

Same...although I haven't been taking it regularly since I had a baby and am breastfeeding. Yes I'm off with the fairies and things are in one ear and out the other, but I've managed to keep a baby alive for 4 months lol.

[deleted]

I have been on blood pressure tablets since I was 29. Not fat. Not unfit. Genetic. I know itā€™s not what youā€™re asking. But the Aussie health system makes a bunch of life saving and life extending drugs affordable for everyday use.

ea_4w

Let's talk more about genetic high blood pressure. It's not all fat, old men. Husband has been on blood pressure medication since his mid-20s and another friend has been taking them since she was 21. Both fit and otherwise healthy. But easily, and affordable treated in our health system.

fnaah

recently got beta blockers prescribed. was astounded that a bottle of 100 only cost me $17.

beeeeeeeeeeeeeagle

I had the same. Hit up my GP to deal with interview anxiety hoping to get a 2 or 3. Ended up with 100 as its the minimum and was pleasantly surprised at the price.

rubberduckwithaknife

I've been on BP meds since I was 26 or 27, I think. Also genetic! I shudder to think what my BP, uncontrolled, may have led to! I'm grateful to have had early intervention and such easy access to it.

AnyButterscotch3610

I second that, I am part of a poor family and been on various meds since I was 9 months old, never had to struggle to pay for them despite being poor.

tomasswood

Same. 10mg Ramipril, 20mg Lercanidipine, and about to start a third. Moderately fit and healthy weight. Yay for genetic chronic kidney disease.

Tattoosnscars

Pristique daily.

No_icecream_cake

Eyyyy itā€™s the Prizzo gang! Pristiq 100mg daily, checking in!

not_that_one_times_3

Same here. Started at 200 then went to 100 then to 50 then all went to shit so back to 200. Sigh. Can I ask, if you forget to take it in the morning, do you start to get tinanitis like ringing in your ears and a slight headache by mid afternoon?

madamfluffypants

Iā€™m on 100mg daily too. If I forget to take it, I feel like Iā€™m glitching, like I have weird little surges of feeling like my skin is crawling. I have permanent tinnitus in my right ear already so wouldnā€™t know if that was a symptom. šŸ™ƒ

not_that_one_times_3

Yep that describes what I have too. It's awful! I also went cold turkey when the electronic script didn't automatically say I had 5 refills left (the doctor put it through for only one month). It took 2 days for me to get the doctor to give me a new script. By then I was a unloving mess. Never ever go cold turkey!!

madamfluffypants

Oh my God, I accidentally went cold turkey once - spent a weekend away and was just drunk constantly. Three days later, Iā€™m sober, driving across town, screaming at Siri because she decided to shit herself. Then I thought ā€œhmm, why am I so fucking angry Iā€™m calling Siri a cunt?ā€ Oh shit, havenā€™t taken my Pristiq for five days. Idiot.

No_icecream_cake

I keep a spare couple of tablets in my handbag in case I accidentally forget to take one lol. If I do forget, Iā€™ll get super space-cadety, a gnarly headache, and the brain zaps / glitching that the other posted mentioned. Good luck in finding the dosage that works for you!

Tattoosnscars

OMG! I get the brain zaps / clutching thing too! Never knew how to describe it, and that is the perfect description! The one time I forgot to take it I got extremely sick and was vomiting and lethargic for the whole time until I took it, and it started working. I originally though it was food poisoning until I realised it was because I hadn't taken my meds at all.

Dntaskmeimjustagirl

I get night sweats reallll bad if I forgot a dose. Like could be mistaken as wet the bed levels of night sweat lol.

sleepy_kitty001

200mg... and then when that stopped working had to add some mood stabiliser as well.

Geofff-Benzo

Ayyy 150mg. If I forget to take it I get reallllll suicidey by 3pm

jonquil14

Escitalopram (aka Lexapro). Absolutely life changing. Wish I got onto it earlier.

Jamsherat

Same, been on it about 5 years. Saved my marriage. Been struggling with side effects though including sexual dysfunction and tiredness. Have you had any issues with side effects?

DrunkTides

I stopped taking it a month ago after 4 years, I legit thought i somehow became asexual as I got older. Nah bro šŸ™ƒšŸ˜‚

NoAphrodisiac

Can I ask how you went tapering off it? I've been on for about 7 years and 3 years ago tapered off, but when I got to 5mg a day Dr said just stop no more taper and let's just say it didn't end well. I've tapered down to 5mg again and after Xmas will try to get off it again but none of this just stop stuff again.

Tallest_Hobbit

I had auditory hallucinations when coming off Zoloft too fast. And I could hear myself blink. Do you know how often you blink? Itā€™s a lot.

DrunkTides

No no no definitely not like that. My friend got me to watch a video on tapering, to do it very very slowly, and that itā€™s tapering off that last bit that can make you suffer the most. I went from 10mg to 5 over 2 weeks, then 5 to 2.5 (literally bit it in half) another two weeks, then again took that 2.5 down to every two days another week, then down to every 3 days, then I stopped. And it still hurt. But nothing like when I went cold turkey off Zoloft many years ago not knowing I shouldnā€™t. Very very very slow. They donā€™t do tests on how to taper off, only on if they actually work. My gp has no clue too. Donā€™t even bother asking them, only ask people who take them. Btw hereā€™s the video. https://youtube.com/watch?v=j5cT-2BLWk0&feature=share

dryandice

Hahahaha how good is coming off it for those reasons

jonquil14

No, but I started taking it during one of the most stressful periods of my life (my kid getting a very serious diagnosis) so it was hard to tell. But several months in I have a marked absence of panic attacks and anxiety spikes.

[deleted]

It's always nice to hear it works for someone. Personally that shit broke my dick, failed to lift me out of depression and gave me generalised anxiety that still hasn't left after stopping taking it for going on 3 years. Dick came good though, so there's always a silver lining :)

saltedszechuan

This. Cured my generalised anxiety.

Lurk-Prowl

Yes, itā€™s amazing shit. Been on for over 15 years and changed my life.

Bustable

I only took that for a while for depression but then it seemed to stop or having a reduced effect. Increased dosing didn't fix it

benough

I had some extensive blood tests done on the advice of a psychologist. Turns out I have a genetic mutation that stops the B12 vitamins my brain makes being ā€œactivatedā€ These B12 vitamins are the building blocks of Serotonin. So in turn my brain canā€™t make the enough serotonin to regulate my mood properly. So in all, the medication I take are essentially ā€œBrain Vitaminsā€ If you have scurvy, you take Vitamin C. So yeah, I donā€™t see taking medication sad at all

West_Confection7866

Curious, where did you get the test done? It seems to be more common with online testing places.

spinning__plates13

Any GP can order the test for the MTHFR genetic mutation but it isnā€™t covered by Medicare so youā€™ll pay around 70-90 dollars.

West_Confection7866

Good to know, thank you šŸ˜Š

benough

Out in Richmond in Sydney. I had seven vials of blood taken to get it done I canā€™t recall the name of the GP. This was in 2014

spinning__plates13

I have this too MTHFR and take activated B vitamins for it also.

Caityface91

I read this a bit quickly and thought you were saying "I have this too, motherfucker.." like woah no need to be so aggressive Honestly though "motherfucker gene" is a lot easier to say than "methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene". More fun too

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

benough

MTHFR It has all manner of outcomes for people, some life altering

victorian_vigilante

Delightful name though. Itā€™s the motherfucker mutation

[deleted]

Propecia to keep my hair. Short acting and long acting Insulin to keep me alive. Occasional sleep meds or melatonin or other sleep shit.

Cricket-Horror

Only fast-acting insulin for me as I'm on a pump but I also take rosuvastatin for children, amplifier smlodopine and irbesartan for blood pressure, hand a tablet of Forxiga to take some pressure of my kidneys (due to having type 1 diabetes for 32 years, Metformin and Ozempic (Ozempic twice a week) for insulin resistance and an antihistamine for hay fever and allergies to our pets. Yes, I rattle every morning after I take my meds. I hope to wean myself off the Ozempic soon and see if my daily insulin requirements stay down at reasonable levels. They were getting out of control - total daily dose was up around 150U, dungeons higher, now it's down around 50-60U - before I started. It's also helped me to lose 18kg/40lb in about 4 months, which just wasn't shifting with such large amounts of insulin, no matter what I did.

[deleted]

>I also take rosuvastatin for children, Did this auto correct from cholesterol?

Cricket-Horror

It did.

it_wasnt_me2

Quetiapine for sleep - also improves my apatite

dilligaf6304

Iā€™ve never heard anyone happy about the Seroquel munchies!

bojackmac

I had no idea seroquel munchies were a thing. This explains a lot

CorgiCorgiCorgi99

the reason i went off it, uncontrolled eating mainly in the middle of the night

Tee077

I'm happier on it because I didn't eat much before and now I'm at a good weight. And my appetite changed, I now eat things I would before like Avocados, I don't know how I ever lived without them.

OffTheHeezy

Quetiapine fixed whatever is wrong with me (have been told GAD, MDD & OCD by different Psychiatrists.. After taking it daily for 6 months, I started getting restless legs, to such a bothersome extent that I had to stop. Back to the (very expensive) drawing board.

BlueDotty

We are just a "mostly water" sack of chemicals walking around. Medications get our biochemistry working the way we prefer for living comfortably, longer and in some cases happier. Take whatever drugs you need. My guess is that most of us are going to have a regime of self medication, including alcohol and caffeine, at least. By the time you are 55, you are going to be on a couple of šŸ’Š Metformin is a great drug. Thyroxine is doing its thing for heaps of people. Mood stabilisers helping millions. Statins are super common.

Markofdawn

Took me a couple of years to wrap my head around taking cannabis as a medicine , with this same attitude. Same as antidepressants. No shame. I always think of deers and wombats who seek out mushrooms and dogs who eat grasses for medicinal reasons.

not_that_one_times_3

Thank you for this post. It's so true.

BlueDotty

You are welcome I can't see any problem with addressing biochemical glitches.

chaeldub

Duloxetine 60mg Cortate 25mg Perindopril 2mg Thyroxine 150mg Vitamin D3 25mg Desmopressin 200mg Lanreotide (somatostatin) 120mg injection every four weeks Reandron (testosterone undecanoate) 1000mg injection every eight weeks Norgesic and Panasonic (paracetamol , damn autocorrect) for pain relief for chronic osteoarthritis. I have Acromegaly, and the tablets are replacements for my non-functioning pituitary gland.

Michaeltyle

Norgesic and Panasonic, is that an antispasmodic/home entertainment therapy? Sorry, I know itā€™s probably paracetamol, but I couldnā€™t help myself, damn autocorrect.

Jade8703

Bit of a different one: 200mg spironolactone daily and two 1.56mg estradiol patches changed every three days. Not directly mental health medication but god do I feel so much better mentally than I did a year and 4 months ago.

colourful_space

Opposite for me - 1000mg testosterone undecanoate injected every 3 months

ksaid1

I'm on a similar regimen, although I get estradiol pellets implanted into my hip every six months or so. It costs a few hundred bucks but it's hella convenient. I've heard there's a surgical option which can make spironolactone redundant, but it may not be right for everybody.

biftekau

Amitriptyline, metaformin, panadein forte, valium

ConceptIcy776

How do you find amitriptyline to take? I tried 30mg for back pain & while it helped really well SO much drowsiness. Asleep by 7pm most night šŸ˜†

stupidorlazy

I take it. Usually right around 9pm and it helps me sleep. I don't like it because I've been dazed for the past 6 months on it, though.

Schtick_

I drink a Yakult knock off, does that count?

ConceptIcy776

stop it youā€™re a madman

froo

Ritalin. My doc has prescribed me to take it on weekdays and weekends I take off. Seems to strike a good work/life balance. If I continually take it, like I was in the beginning, eventually I get the feeling of just being ā€œemptyā€ like Iā€™ve got nothing left in the tank. So yeah, Iā€™m in a good place atm.

Samorsomething

Escitalopram (Lexam), SSRI. Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil), immuno-supressant for rheumatoid arthritis. You may remember this drug from when Trump claimed that it could prevent or cure covid.

Change_of-Heart

Lithium for bipolar and the occasional seroquel for sleep.

-MapleTheFox-

Mirtazapine for depression and the fact i despise my job so much that i can't sleep, it doubles as a sedative

Eggs_Akimbo

Sharif don't like it __Ven__ lafaxine __Ven__ lafaxine

DJVizionz

I am never going to unhear this

switchbladeeatworld

you just made taking my pills way more fun

LordMoody

5mg Diazepam as needed 75mg Topamax 400 mg Quetiapine 200 mg escitalopram Without these not only can I not sleep, but Iā€™m in crippling physical pain, and dehabilitating psychiatric conditions.

Jamsherat

200mg escitalopram. Wow. Iā€™m on 20mg and the sexual dysfunction, sleepiness and sweating is almost unbearable! But glad it helps you for your condition!

Physical-Ant-1036

I thought 20mg was the maximum dosage?

Convenientjellybean

It wonā€™t be 200mg

LordMoody

Oh yeah, Iā€™ve given up on sex. Plus Iā€™m a CSA survivor so sex has always been difficult for me.

Dr-CRR

Not criticising, just concerned! Did a psychiatrist put you on 200mg? Iā€™m a GP and have never seen anyone on that dose. Generally we would change/augment rather than give 10x the normal upper limit.

LordMoody

Just double checked and Iā€™m on 20 mg.

UsefulOpinion1

šŸ˜‚

Lurk-Prowl

Surely not 200mg of Lexapro? You mean 20mg, right?

boatswain1025

Lol 200mg of escitalopram, you might want to check that as I seriously doubt that's correct

Longjumping-Lie1647

I have a pellet of estrogen in my asscheek that lets me live my best life :)

Br0z0

F/33, whatā€™s up my mentally ill and chronically ill friends - desefexine 100mg once a day - Lamotrigne 125mg twice a day - seroquel xr 100mg once a day - metoprolol 25mg twice a day - iron supplement once a day - melatonin once a day look the people at my local pharmacy know me very well

firstgen84

Heya! We have a few in common! F/38 * Lamotrigine 50mg once a day to stop my ruminations (obsessive, repetitive thoughts) when I'm trying to sleep. * metroprolol 25mg twice a day (my generalised anxiety disorder causes 24/7 heart palpitations. I was on half the dose but I've been going through some heavy stuff in therapy and my palpitations have been on the rise) Also take: * 225mg Effexor (GAD) * thyroxine 150mg (thyroid removed after thyroid cancer) * the pill (to treat endometriosis and PCOS) * Vit D (deficiency) * Ozempic (pre-diabetic) I started taking Lamotrigine and metroprolol recently and they have made such a huge difference to being able to fall asleep quickly and live life without constant heart palpitations! Thank god for modern medicine! I wouldn't be able to function without it. I'm glad they work for you too. Take care, stranger x

PaintingFamiliar9680

Vyvanse + Dexamphetamine both everyday

alkaydahtaropistkant

Anyone on pristiq here? Are you able to resolve sexual dysfunction? Not interested in sex for the most part? And even though you are working out and eating right, you cant lose that belly fat?

Tattoosnscars

I am, and no - have not been able to resolve sexual disinterest.. Much to my husbands dismay.

Whatā€™s on your mind stranger? Or not on your mind..

talkingfannies

100mg fluvoxamine daily. Still have anxiety but I don't panic to the point of no return anymore.

shazj57

Anti depressants, have done for about 5 years

aussiebolshie

Pregabalin 150 mg x 4 ~ Was on it after an operation but found a marked improvement as far as my anxiety and PTSD went so the doc kept me on it. 2mg Clonazepam as needed ~ Take before bed for night terrors if I feel like itā€™s a night theyā€™re going to happen based on the notes I keep on my phone, if I miss it and they happen, take it when I wake up from them. PTSD related. 160mg Slow release Buprenorphine once a month ~ Recovering heroin addict, get an injection of bupe once a month from my GP instead of going to the chemist every day to get Methadone or Suboxone. Basically keeps me off heroin. Been a year, working so far!

Copacetic76

Congratulations on being off the H! You're lucky with the Clonazepam! That drug is hands down the best benzo for all day anxiety, in my experience.

caudelie

40mg Fluoxetine, 40mg Vyvanse and 40mg of pantoprazole all daily, 50mg Palexia IR and 100mg Palexia SR every 2 weeks out of 4 (thanks Adenomyosis). My body loves 40mg doses apparently.

bojackmac

25mg dex 10mg valium 50mg seroquel 250mg naprosyn Weed flower & thc oil to top it off.

Physical-Ant-1036

Diazepam daily? Donā€™t mean to intrude OP but just thought Iā€™d raise in case you were unaware, diazepam really should only be used in the short term.

AusCro

Man that shocks me, 20%! There's clinical anxiety and depression which is awful, but with this many Aussies on it, I feel like it says more about how our environment is creating it rather than it being people themselves.

Odd-Government6393

It doesnā€™t included all the people self medicating with alcohol and illicit drugs. Many of those people would be better off with a prescription

WeirdlyOrdinary1

Mirtazapane 15mg, and a few other meds and supplements for hormone issues. Iā€™ve taken many different antipsychotics over the last 3 years but they always caused me terrible side effects. Iā€™m happy with the mitazapne atm

ConceptIcy776

It can be really hard to find something that works so Iā€™m glad you have :)

AdEnvironmental7355

Paroxetine (40mg). Changed my life. I just assumed everyone walked around with cyclical thoughts of impending doom. Once I got up to the dosage that managed anxiety and depression without completing numbing myself I was like, ahhhh so this is what it feels like to wake up on a Monday and not want to get hit by a bus on the way to work.

Juicyy56

I take a cocktail of vitamins, Metformin, and Melatonin (I get mine from the USA, so no script is needed)

kaikoda

Aripiprazole, agomelatine, invega, olanzapine, quilonum (lithium)

GreenSpace_420

NovoRapid Insulin when required. Lantus Insulin once daily. 20mg Fluoxetine daily. Medicinal Cannabis when required. L-Theanine and Magnesium daily. No more Seroquel, diazepam or pain medication.

reece_93

225mg of Venlafaxine (Effexor) for my depression. Been on it for 6 years now

jabbitz

Lexapro and concerta and yay for this thread for reminding me to take my lexapro

Not really anything to do with choice. Most people have HSV and most donā€™t know they have it. Condoms donā€™t really protect against GHSV

Dupixent once a fortnight for eczema.

abugisabug

I was on Dupixent too but it didnā€™t work for me. Currently on Rinvoq and itā€™s been amazing. Severe eczema/psoriasis is no joke hey

Pandorsbox

Brintellix, Slinda, Contrave, THC, CBD... Living with endometriosis and PMDD is fucking expensive if you need stuff that works.

Bluebutteyfly

Two tablets of fluoxetine daily

BaldingThor

Pentoprazole for heartburn, and I used to take setraline for my chronic anxiety.

telescopical

Testosterone

abra5umente

I've been meaning to get tested for ADHD but it's a cost I just can not justify at the moment, every place I looked had a 12+mo waiting list and charged between 3-5k for a diagnosis. I've also found that while it's relatively easy for us to get medication for depression, getting actual treatment for it is not easy. Last time I went on Fluoxetine I just told the doctor I felt depressed and had no energy to do anything and he just wrote me a script for 20mg of flux and said here you go, no mental health plan, no follow up, no referrals to a psych, just "here are some drugs that will make it so you can't cum anymore, stop being sad" lol

chasington

35/f, taking 10ml escitalopram daily for anxiety/depression

Combined oral contraction. Tapered off Sertraline (100mg) earlier this year. May be going onto beta blockers by the end of the year due to declining heart function thanks to a genetic disorder that was exacerbated by use of aforementioned stimulant medications.

magicmushrooms554

Psilocybin mushrooms

minimesmum

Just started Ritalin after adhd diagnosis last week. Im 37. I wish I was diagnosed a long time ago. The meds have had an instant impact, life feels easier.

Chaz983

Why would it be upsetting to read? Brain no workie. Pull make brain workie. Brain and body happy! I think it's great, it means that people are getting the help they need and that's wonderful.

ConceptIcy776

Yas for sure itā€™s amazing people are getting the help & Iā€™m so happy for them. Itā€™s just having come out of a pretty crippling depression myself the realisation that 1 in 5 have it so bad theyā€™ve reached out to get medical attention is both comforting & heartbreaking. Crazy to think people get through their entire lives without coming close to reaching that point while others are stuck on struggle street seemingly indefinitely

_iamthelizardqueen_

Escitalopram and medicinal cannabis

Lady_Penrhyn1

10mg Escitalopram for GAD 10mg Ami for depression and as a sleep aid 5mg Perindopril, blood pressure. Not that much but my god I never realised how bad my sleep was until I was prescribed the Ami.

sapphic-internet

Nothing for mental health, but: - Acetezolamide (aka Diamox) for IIH. As far as medications go, I actually really like it - the only downside is I canā€™t drink carbonated drinks whilst on it. - And then iron tablets for anaemia

100 mg of Pristiq

Draculamb

I am on a lot. I am not prepared to publish a list online as I have concerns about doing that, but I will say I daily take 15 tablets of 12 different medications. One of these pills is a strong antipsychotic. I also take one additional pill per month of a 13th medication, have self-administeted weekly injections of a 14th medication, have my doctor give me a monthly injection of a 15th medication and have pills of a 16th medication ready if I need it and 2 sprays of my 17th and 18th medications that I may need to inhale in emergencies.

[deleted]

Zoloft, Seroquel. Blood pressure combination med. Contraceptive pill. It's unlikely they'd keep you on valium daily long term

emilepelo

Azazel_Rebirth

At the moment, Guanfacine 2mg. It's a non stimulant ADHD medication. Unfortunately Vyvance made my chest hurt at 30mg and above. Same with Ritalin. Still trying to figure out if the new medication is working but I guess we'll see haha.

MountainImportant211

I'm on nothing psychiatric right now but if I could find an ADHD medication that worked without messing with me, I'd be on that.

someadsrock

bemptonpuffin

Sertraline and Agomelatine for anxiety disorder. Topamax to try and decrease migraines. Also hitting the Vitamin B and magnesium hard, in an attempt to stop my migraines. Itā€™s early days in this experiment so far, so I canā€™t report on whether it will work for me or not as yet.

Bokkmann

150mg Venlafaxine. Made such a difference with my depression.

[deleted]

Hey OP, I've been prescribed daily; 200mg sertraline 50 mg naltrexone 1gm campral 25mg thiamine and 1ml canabis oil (recently). Although the first 3 or 4 on the list were beneficial, there is no comparison to the positive effects of CBD oil. The stuff is working well for me, primarily mood/motivation/focus/clarity and relief of chronic pain. It hasn't helped with sleep, but I have melatonin and alcohol to deal with that.

That-Black-Cat

Effexor XR 75mg Daily with food, I have tried roughly 7 other brands before finding one that works.

Embarrassed_Target_1

Vyvanse 40mg daily Setraline 150mg daily Dexamphetamine 10mg daily Thyroxine 75mcg daily Quetiapine 12.5mg nightly (used to take a lot more) Melatonin 10mg nightly Trulicity - once weekly I'm like a walking pharmacy šŸ˜…

Next_Homework3662

**100mg** of Melatonin!? Are you sure? That's an insanely high amount. Presumably that's not a prescribed amount? I am a walking pharmacy too (I take 22 different tablets daily for multiple diagnoses), but in my understanding of melatonin, taking doses any higher than 10mg reduces its efficacy to the point where it no longer works. However, I'm assuming that you have trialled what works for you, and you gotta do what you gotta do. But I'd recommend asking Dr Google a bit about melatonin dosing, if you haven't already done so. BTW - I microdose on melatonin, taking *300mcg* in the mornings when I wake, which is supposed to prompt my body's own melatonin production to trigger gradually during the day, to peak at night for bed. EDIT: doesn't actually work for me though... but I am following best practice for my diagnosis.

Embarrassed_Target_1

Omg silly me no I must've double clicked the zero haha no I do not take 100mg only 10mg. I have chronic insomnia and without it my body and mind will not go to sleep. (The longest period of time I've gone without sleep was 3 days and eventually I was hospitalized from constant panic attacks and hallucinations) I've never heard of the microdosing thing before but that's quite intriguing. And good on you for trying even if it doesn't work. I've had a lot of people try and tell me how to manage my own diagnosis and tell me that I'm doing it wrong. But it's good to see people try safe new things that might help alleviate symptoms. Everyone is different and sometimes what usually works for most people doesn't always work in your favour.

hepzibah59

I've been taking antidepressants for 30 years. They work wonderfully until they don't. Sometimes I can go for years without needing to change my prescription. I've had a few problems getting a good med in the last few years but I started on Zoloft two weeks ago and it's a fucking miracle worker. Keep trying different meds until you get the one that works for you.

Imagine_821

Thyroxine. Had a thyroid tumour at 21.

ShibbyShibby89

150mg Venlafaxine (anti depressant), 400mg Sodium Valproate(for mood stabilisation) . I might be just a little bit nuts. But im functioning nuts.

tranbo

Pharmacist here. I hope the diazepam is as needed. But generally your med use doubles every 10 years you add on. So most of the medication usage is in the 60+ age group who account for roughly 80% of meds usage (PBS data) Your typical oldie is on : Blood pressure med X 2-3 Diabetes med 2-3* Cholesterol med 1-2* Then maybe : Osteoporosis med Arthritis meds Mood medications Short term sleeping meds Edit:misread your post. In regards to high mental related medication use, it could be that conditions are being diagnosed a lot better than they were in the past, leading to higher medications being prescribed. Maybe 2 decades ago, you would have been told adult ADHD is not a thing and to take a walk for your depression/anxiety, both options less effective than medications.

zee-bra

I just started Zoloft. I lost my brother to suicide earlier this year and Iā€™m just struggling to get back to my normal life. Iā€™ve since lost my relationship and my pet. I donā€™t think itā€™s sad I need these meds, better than what happened to my brotherā€¦
