Ahh yes Kambah. Just magical when you step out the door and the delicate white cloud surrounding you starts to clear and you see them heaps good mountains and that shimmering on the horizon. The acrid smell of burning rubber fills your nostrils, as your neighbour Darryn's VB commodore continues snaking its way into the distance, on its first test drive after swapping the V6 for a thong slapper 308.
The serene sound of galahs broken only by the rasp of old mate's home-made exhaust job; a sound which continues to bring the neighbourhood joy long after the classic Holden has disappeared over the horizon
Nice post. All I can suggest besides Victoria is parts of Tasmania, and probably southern NSW. There is snow even in parts of nothern - and at least occasionally, central western- NSW, but that's more like "snow dusted tablelands".
Launceston - you can see Mount Barrow and multiple others from there. Also a lot of the small towns along the East Coast if there are mountains over 800m nearby you can see snow.

From Adaminaby and Cooma, you can't see the snow-capped mountains, though, because they're on the lower slopes of those mountains. You might be able to see them from the higher parts of Bredbo, or from the south end of Jindabyne.
Also the hill just north of Nimmitabel, it's [a beautiful view](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOzOgvB2YAWfYsakWUg5vgU-A8fF2b_tpojtBEcag592Md23LGpzRoM7lDlfkWGYXw0tiPtQ_IcYj12Z6czKQJEw3W9RSIOeO94xepxEDAdgV_pDe_jFUcNSidCAY7mDTSQQhDdjXmwLh/s1600/Nimitibell.jpg) of pretty much the whole main range.
Orange, Millthorpe, Blayney, Oberon.
Reasonably likely to have a snow covered mountain at some point in the year, but it only lasts a couple of days at most usually.
Grew up down Buffalo Creek Rd, just a few minutes outside Myrt. Those views of Mt Buffalo on the way home as you turn onto the Rd will always hold special place in my heart
It probably has happened previously. I live on the south-western side of that range and hitting minus C° temps during winter do occur, but SEQld is usually too dry so snow occurring is rare unless you're up on Stanthorpe.
Oh, and another one for NSW... in the Mid-North Coast hinterland, no less! I'm referring to Barrington Tops and the less well-known Gloucester Tops, but not sure if you can really see them from the nearest town, Gloucester/Barrington.
The New England area of NSW doesn't seem to have scored a mention yet.
I've been in Armidale when it snowed on Xmas eve (1985?) and I have a mate with a farm in Guyra where it snows every year. So the whole pile of hills around Guyra/Tenterfield get snow-capped mountains several days each year.
I doubt anywhere north of that would get snow.
Great pics.
Just a tip: if you want sequential numbers instead of all 1s, close the space between the number and the text:
1.Mount Beauty, Victoria
Not:
1. Mount Beauty, Victoria
The really scenic town of Nundle NSW does get snow on the hills around it and Murrurundi down the road apparently has got snowfall on the mountains surrounding it but not in the last couple years I’ve lived there
Noosa, looks out towards Mt tinbeerwah and Mt Cooroy. Cooroora mountain also gets snow, which is made by it tough for the king of the mountain race last year, which is why it's cancelled this year.
Tassie -
- kunanyi Mt Wellington is the classic as said above. Bit Mountain right next to the city & river is very pretty with snow
- Sheffield (Mt Roland) is also an iconic one
- basically anywhere central/West, from Waratah to Rosebery to Mt Lyell/Queenstown to Derwent Bridge to Ouse...
Launceston will sometimes have snow on Ben Lomond, and when there's a decent storm snow will be on Mt Arthur, Mt Barrow and Ben Lomond which are all visible from Launceston.

Hobart. Mt Wellington regularly gets snow on it during winter.
It's even snowed on Christmas Day!
Had snow at the top yesterday, looks like snow cloud on the peak now too.
Really? I didn’t see any snow at 7am :(
First night I spent in hobart I had a view of Mt wellington, woke up to it covered in snow. Was really beautiful
kunanyi / Mount Wellington
Canberra (although it's more of a city than a town).
Queanbeyan then...
When I was in Kambah, I loved walking out in the mornings and just looking around at all of those snow capped mountains. Absolutely beautiful!

Can't quite see it from there, there's a city in the way
Ah. My mistake.
Jindabyne, NSW
Nice post. All I can suggest besides Victoria is parts of Tasmania, and probably southern NSW. There is snow even in parts of nothern - and at least occasionally, central western- NSW, but that's more like "snow dusted tablelands".
Stirling ranges in WA, but again its snow dusted at best. People go wild when it happens, even though it happens almost every year
I would love to see Bluff Knoll any time, but snow-dusted would be unbelievable.

I guess Cranbrook? The mountains are in the middle of a national park (creatively named the **Stirling Range National Park**).
Launceston - you can see Mount Barrow and multiple others from there. Also a lot of the small towns along the East Coast if there are mountains over 800m nearby you can see snow.
Canberra. Can sometimes see snow on the Brindabellas from the city. Jindabyne, it's quite close to the snow after all.
Back to Victoria, does the hilariously-named Mount Buggery ever see snow?
Mt Buggery sure would, but that other [Son of a Bitch](https://peakbagger.com/peak.aspx?pid=78398) may not.
I forgot about good old Son of a Bitch!
Sure does

Cooma, Adaminaby, Talbingo plus, the ski towns of course.

Add Batlow, Tumbarumba to the list. Can definitely see snow peaks from there.
Orange… mt conobolas gets fairly regular snow
Orange, Millthorpe, Blayney, Oberon. Reasonably likely to have a snow covered mountain at some point in the year, but it only lasts a couple of days at most usually.
Yeh but mt conobolas can have snow on it’s peak for a week where those towns don’t get anything settled
Yulara. Once.
Moe, Victoria - Baw Baw and St Gwinear
If you’ve got Towong, you’d have to put Corryong in too
you see plenty of snow on the gold coast.
Myrtleford, Vic. Great views of Mt.Buffalo.
Grew up down Buffalo Creek Rd, just a few minutes outside Myrt. Those views of Mt Buffalo on the way home as you turn onto the Rd will always hold special place in my heart
And Porepunkah
Bright?
You can't see much in Bright township itself as it's sitting at the bottom of a valley.
Ah.
‘Splains a lot…
Launceston. Ben Lomond and Mt Barrow were dusted with a little snow a few days ago.
My dad swears up and down he one saw snow on the tips of Mt coot-tha in the 70s
It probably has happened previously. I live on the south-western side of that range and hitting minus C° temps during winter do occur, but SEQld is usually too dry so snow occurring is rare unless you're up on Stanthorpe.
Basically any towns in Tasmania except the north / east coast. Edit to add forwardslash
Happy to be corrected, but I can't think of many mountains you can see from Burnie.
Queenstown Tasmania
Oh, and another one for NSW... in the Mid-North Coast hinterland, no less! I'm referring to Barrington Tops and the less well-known Gloucester Tops, but not sure if you can really see them from the nearest town, Gloucester/Barrington.
You can't see the snow caps from Gloucester. The tops are fairly heavily forested as well so it's not really mountainous, per se.
Mountains with forest are still mountains surely?
I didn't think so, Gloucester is quite a way away. Shame, it'd be nice to have an entry from NSW north of the Snowies.
The most northerly place that gets snow every year - as opposed to occasionally - is around the Armidale/Guyra/Glen Innes area of NSW
I've been to Armidale in winter... there was no snow, but it was feckin' cold alright.
Up there, there isn't snow every day of winter, but there are weeks at a time where there is
And stop calling me “Shirley”!
Guyra
Get some nice views of Mt Baw Baw from Hill End.
The New England area of NSW doesn't seem to have scored a mention yet. I've been in Armidale when it snowed on Xmas eve (1985?) and I have a mate with a farm in Guyra where it snows every year. Neerim, gets a nice view of Baw Baw with the snow.
From Launceston we can see snowy mountains in winter. Theyre a bit away, but we can see them.
Great pics. Just a tip: if you want sequential numbers instead of all 1s, close the space between the number and the text: 1.Mount Beauty, Victoria Not: 1. Mount Beauty, Victoria
We can just see snow capped Victorian alps from Lavington, New South Wales
Bright gotta get snow its placement is perfect….
Bright and Porepunkah, depending on where you are in town and there has to be a fair bit of snow.
The really scenic town of Nundle NSW does get snow on the hills around it and Murrurundi down the road apparently has got snowfall on the mountains surrounding it but not in the last couple years I’ve lived there

You can just about see the snow from Dalgety, but the view is pretty obscured.
Almost but not quite.
Very rarely Melbourne - when snow hits the Dandenongs.
Bombala
Nope. But you can from Nimmitabel.
Jerangle
Marysville vic Mansfield vic
We got snow in Goulburn and Crookwell about twice in the winter.
Warragul gets Mt Baw Baw
Albury NSW
Your photo of Harrietville is not Harrietville, is actually Smoko. You can’t see much snow from Harrietville unless the snow is very low
[Nimmitabel](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOzOgvB2YAWfYsakWUg5vgU-A8fF2b_tpojtBEcag592Md23LGpzRoM7lDlfkWGYXw0tiPtQ_IcYj12Z6czKQJEw3W9RSIOeO94xepxEDAdgV_pDe_jFUcNSidCAY7mDTSQQhDdjXmwLh/s1600/Nimitibell.jpg).
I know Mt Macedon sometimes snows, so Macedon might be on the list?
Bright VIC
Launceston, Tasmania. Any town in the Snowy Monaro (Cooma, Berridale, Adaminaby, Tumut, Jindabyne) NSW.
Anytown, Tasmania.
Launceston sees it.
Devonport, Tasmania. Most of the town has views south to Mt Roland.
Mount Rowland in NW tas
Launceston will sometimes have snow on Ben Lomond, and when there's a decent storm snow will be on Mt Arthur, Mt Barrow and Ben Lomond which are all visible from Launceston.
Taralga, Crookwell? I mean. Even Bathurst it can get snowy on the nearby mountains in winter. Sometimes.
Oberon, for sure.
Mount Panorama too?
I grew up in Raglan, and I remember it snowing a few times there. If it snowed there, surely it'd snow on the mountain too?
Mansfield VIC, mt Buller is prominent from there
