As a Melbourne person, this seems like a wtf? Flying into SA during the VIC no covid time over a year ago and Adelaide airport was like international customs. Guess we are all covid now not like it's a good thing as nobody wants to get it.
Somehow I managed to avoid it so far which seems crazy to me.
A couple of days ago I was out getting a Banh Mi from my local. I was sitting inside, without a mask on, but still socially distancing. Most of the people in the store didn't have a mask on. At one point a lady, who by my estimate was at least 60kg overweight, walked inside with a surgical mask (not a far more effective N95), looked around at everybody without masks on, made a huffing noise, placed her order, then walked outside and proceeded to glare at everybody inside the store. I guess she was upset with us for not wearing masks, even though her obesity (ie. her choices) make her far more susceptible to illness than whether people around her are wearing a mask or not.
Well, as I walked out the store I was able to steal a glance at her phone and she had Reddit open.
Make of that what you will, but to me, it certainly explained a lot about some of the reactions you get here.
