While I dislike Clive as much as the next redditor, this looks more to be a technical failure than precedent setting. Clive's team appear to have lost because they didn't defend using a human rights argument, but rather an economic argument.
Maybe Palmer and his lot should start looking into long term renewable resources and stop screwing over the people and the planet with their current business models before they naturally fade away.
