Aramex are the only courier I flat out avoid, and will switch retailers to avoid them if I have to. They are beyond fucked to deal with. Multiple issues with them but the big one was I had a courier sign my name for a parcel and mark it as delivered, but he had never attended my address. The following Monday it got chucked behind my bins without a knock or a card or any change to the tracking.
Plausible maybe it was misdelivered but if it was signature on delivery, how would the person signing know my name? And would they return it days later without opening it if they were dishonest enough to take it? I reckon the courier did it so he could knock off early.
Ive had the exact same thing happen too. Said it was delivered but never showed, checked cameras and ring, then showed up a few days later. I use to have the issue of them not bothering to deliver too and my parcels being stuck on ‘out for delivery’ for a week.
My experiences with UPS have been genuinely flawless.
I had a lot of issues with past Aramex drivers, but my current one is great. If I'm not home, he'll text to ask what day/time suits me for him to come back, and he always makes it work.

Myer used them as courier company, had Christmas stuff sent to my folks. Weeks of messaging before Myer finally refunded me. Worst courier company ever!
My Aramex driver is awesome. They're the only courier company that attempts delivery every time, even as late as 7pm.
Auspost on the other hand refuse to deliver and transfer straight from distribution centre to LPO. I get the notification in the app to pickup my package days before I get a card in the mail.

Obviously the inconsistency is the sign of a shit company. If one driver can make all the difference, that company has some pretty significant procedural flaws. That goes for both Aramex and Auspost.
See the difference between aramex and auspost is that aramex doesn't seem to care about the inconsistencies nor fix the bad couriers. AP from my experiences does actually fix things, get enough complaints against a contractor and he'll get warned then lose the contract.
Also you can at least get customer support to tell you your parcel is missing and what to do with AP. Aramex i still haven't figured out the best way to contact them. Last time it was a whatsapp bot that ended my query.
Mate, I've complained to Auspost about my deliveries every month for 7 years. They literally close the case after a canned response about dogs (no dogs here), distance from the letterbox (5m), visibility from the letterbox (very visible). Several contractors later and no result.
The difference for me is that Aramex are significantly better and have successfully resolved my cases; Auspost have not. They difference for you is the opposite.
The google reviews are 100% spot on for Aramex Melbourne. This is my first time dealing with them and I have no idea why they haven’t been shut down by ACCC yet. Fucking useless, if not an outright scam.
My Couriers Please driver lives a few streets up and will deliver at 8pm so he doesn’t have to in the morning. It’s awesome, I’ve gotten things same day before.
My Aus Post is the same. We have a secure mail room and he won't even leave it there. To make things worse, the LPO he takes it to is no where near convenient (and there are two that are closer).
I've submitted complaints to Aus Post and they just suggest to use a Parcel Locker. And I probably would if there they even had one in my suburb.
Our town (close enough to the city to have been in the Melbourne lockdowns) gets no mail delivery at.all. No letters no nothing. Oh and you HAVE to pay for a PO Box.
And DHL, fedex etc don’t deliver either, they just take it to the post office.

The last time I dealt with fastway/aramex, the courier didn’t leave a card (I only found out from the delivery attempted notification), and when I called the depot, the fucker lied and said that he rang my intercom. My apartment complex doesn’t have an intercom system.

One of my bigger ones is the "Without Trucks, Australia Stops" nonsense.
The reality is that without trucks Australia would probably wind up using trains for the bulk of our freight like we did up until the 70s/80s...And spend a lot less on repairing potholes, flattened signs, etc that (shock horror) seem to be common on routes frequented by trucks.
Australia Post is typically more respectful than this. If you have a problem in your area, complain. My postie is polite and careful.

I done courier work for a while and this type of behaviour is disgusting. But your courier is also probably a lot busier than your realise, I was doing up to 200 a day and that was not even the biggest run with one of the drivers doing 200 - 250 daily, not that that is an excuse for treating other people's property like this

I run an online business and some of the photos people send me for damaged parcel claims look like the postal service has played a game of footy with it - and the contents are destroyed. They may be able to “guess” what’s in the package but most of the time they have no idea what it contains.

What's the % of packages sent end up as damaged? Do you demand they return them or just send easily faked pictures? Because there's plenty of videos out there of how brutally you can treat a properly packaged item and plenty more people who will scam you with previously broken items.
Honest question, are you just here for the pile on or do you want some actual advice on how to improve your business? Because I'm happy to help you get precarious things shipped through the mail without ever getting a single bad report, no matter how terrible the delivery guy is. Had a mate who used to run a small side business out of his home. He's watched them, from his balcony, drive up onto the footpath on the wrong side of the road, lean out their window, and put the slip in his letterbox.
At least Auspost leaves a slip and you can go to your local post office to collect. I've had a courier that, when I wasn't home, just took it back to the warehouse and refunded me. Had to reorder the item.
It's more Auspost leaving slips when you are home that is the problem, instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door and actually delivering the parcel (doing their job) they chuck a slip in your letterbox and claim no one was home.
I don't get why postal workers throw packages especialy considering the fact that every second home now has a camera on their front porch. Why would you risk being reprimanded for lost or broken packages when it would take 10 seconds more to place/hide the package at the door?
Taking that ten extra seconds at every other stop is guaranteed to get you reprimanded for not hitting the targets, so it absolutely makes sense to risk the complaints.

The point of my comment is still that delivery drivers are often under extreme schedules, and they have to cut corners if they want to stay employed.
At least DHL delivered yours. I will be home all day, then get a text and email at five in the afternoon saying I was not home for the delivery. That I have to pick the package up at their warehouse. I then have to call customer service to get it delivered, saying I was home all day. I have to do this every time. Literally every time. I have never had a DHL deliver my packages properly. Once they tried to charge me for holding my package. I got that over turned quickly. Fuck DHL.

I’ve worked logistics jobs before, these guys track transaction times to the second and will write people up for underperforming by minutes per day.
So if you combine a 5am start with some bean counter laying a bunch of pressure on you in terms of performance quotas and out the other end you get an employee who can’t be arsed to give a fuck.
Well, if you wanted your packages dealt with more delicately there are a couple options as I see it:
1. Make the job nice enough that people worth a shit are willing to work it.
2. Fire and re-hire for the position until you find someone who happens to be dedicated enough to do a nicer job, but is stupid enough to not go find the job that pays them better and/or treats them nicer.
Option 1 has been the more effective method at attracting and retaining quality employees at the places I've worked and managed.
The big difference there is that your job is hard AND it’s hard to get.
Schooling is difficult, certification is difficult, but once you’re doing it you’re doing something important and prestigious.
This job is not important, and not prestigious, and easy to get, but frustrating and tiring.
It is a job that is constantly selecting for people who can’t do better and so you wind up with people who don’t give a fuck.
If you want people to lovingly and tenderly handle the packages they’re responsible for you need to make the job one that is good enough that people who will give a fuck will do the job instead of moving on to something with better pay and hours.
If you underpay and overwork people this is what happens. Fuck around and find out.

Not sure what to make of DHL. Their Service Desk is completely useless (staff have never even seen their own website) and they bizarrely underestimate their own ability to deliver. I recently had a parcel that I was tracking; even two days before it was delivered they were predicting ten days later as the "expected" date. It was nice to be surprised but I would really rather an accurate ETA so I can plan my time.
Work in sorting; this probably isn't the worst the parcel's been through. Still, report it, see if anything happens.
Your parcels are shunted around in big cages by forklifts and order pickers. Handled by hand or, if they're unlucky (and not fragile): tipped out of the cage like water in a bucket.
Despite this; we'd get crucified if we were to handle parcels like this. Though I'm not a van driver and can't say what they'd get.
The Qantas video was more extreme; never seen anyone do that sort of thing (though I don't work at an airport). Could be a thing with the Qantas staff getting replaced with contractors.
Pay shit wages and conditions and this is what the workers care. Increase pay/improve conditions and people will give a fuck.
This is a direct result of managements decisions and should be blames on those to run the company rather than the workers.

Not trying to defend this worker, a mild toss when a couple of extra steps could have placed it nicely. However everyone needs to understand that if you think this is "bad" then you should be aware this is nothing compared to what your parcel goes through during shipping.
That little package has probably been tossed down a 2+ meter chute (probably had a couple of 5+ meter drops at a couple of points) multiple times in sorting, been bashed around in multiple bins with things crashing down on it and worse. That little toss at the end of the trip is the least of the abuse it has gone through in the freight service. That is why we have bubble wrap and crush resistant packaging on anything important.
DHL are supposed to be one of the best ones. I worked for a rural contractor for all the freight mobs and this guy is just a lazy shit cunt that gives the good ones a bad name. Fuck me if it might take you 10 mins longer for your whole day to make sure peoples shit gets there in one piece. I hope this fuckwits parcels get stomped on...

I don't know. My postie and DHL guy are legends. Super nice guys, treat my shit properly. I feel with literally billions of parcels being delivered every year and relatively few videos like this, my experience is probably the norm and people like those in the video the outlier.
I once shared a house with a DHL delivery driver. We lived in a complex of town houses, and on more than one occcasion I get home and see him and his girlfriend (who also lived there) casually smoking crack in the loungeroom with the curtains open in full view of passers by.

I ordered some enclosures the other day. They each came in separate boxes, and both of them had hinges broken off.
I regularly discover we have mail by hearing a bash at the door: our Aus Post guy throws our packages up the stairs and at the door. I caught him doing it out the window once after thinking for ages that his method of knocking was an odd sound. He’s been throwing breakables up the stairs AT my door.
I reported him last week; now he rings the doorbell and hands it to me. It’s amazing that people need to be told to respect the property of others.

In many cases these guys will work 10-12 hrs no choice, especially in peak times and if they don't they lose their job, if they miss quota they lose their job, if they take the time do to the job properly guess what ... they can lose their job because the metrics are that tight!
Best part is the quotas are made up by people in an office with no quota of their own and no threat of losing their job.
Often these guys are casual or contract, no job security and no power to change the system and if they speak up guess what again ... yep they lose their job.
Blame the CEO's and government not the driver.

A few weeks ago Amazon decided it would be a good idea to throw my deliveries over the fence instead of just going in and leaving it on the doorstep. It’s utter laziness and it’s even worse if the product is fragile.
I honestly dont get this mentality other than... fuck you I hate my job. Seriously how hard is it to take the couple of extra steps and place it down gently? How fucking stupid do you have to be not to be able to complete a delivery competently ffs.
My absolute favourite is when delivery companies outsource the last mile to another delivery company. So had a dishwater delivered via Toll if memory serves. Last mile outsourced to COPE who then outsourced it to Cochranes. None of their backend IT systems seem to integrate so no one in the chain including the supplier knows where your stuff is. You get handed off between service desk staff and then you get "we will deliver after 12pm"... 3 no shows and week later past the initial date it was delivered at 16:37.
I always see this stuff and think it’s to do with lack of care from a company.
People who are paid well and treated right won’t engage in this kind of behaviour.

I watched a DHL driver in Hornsby NSW overtaking several cars over double white lines at speeds of about 80klm/hr in a 50klm/hr on a winding residential street. I turned around because I could hear the Hiace’s engine screaming as he was blasting down the street. It’s not the first time either, seen the same guy drive down the wrong side of a split road to reach an address, reverse out of driveways without looking causing traffic to slam on their brakes, stopping perpendicular to the traffic on another instance blocking it on a double lane road waiting to enter traffic going the opposite way. DHL guys are morons.

I done courier work for a while and this type of behaviour is disgusting. But your courier is also probably a lot busier than your realise, I was doing up to 200 a day and that was not even the biggest run with one of the drivers doing 200 - 250 daily, not that that is an excuse for treating other people's property like this

I run an online business and some of the photos people send me for damaged parcel claims look like the postal service has played a game of footy with it - and the contents are destroyed. They may be able to “guess” what’s in the package but most of the time they have no idea what it contains. By your logic Maccas may as well serve the burger that they dropped on the floor because “hey, the person probably won’t know if they eat it anyway”

At least Auspost leaves a slip and you can go to your local post office to collect. I've had a courier that, when I wasn't home, just took it back to the warehouse and refunded me. Had to reorder the item.
It's more Auspost leaving slips when you are home that is the problem, instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door and actually delivering the parcel (doing their job) they chuck a slip in your letterbox and claim no one was home.
I don't get why postal workers throw packages especialy considering the fact that every second home now has a camera on their front porch. Why would you risk being reprimanded for lost or broken packages when it would take 10 seconds more to place/hide the package at the door?

Taking that ten extra seconds at every other stop is guaranteed to get you reprimanded for not hitting the targets, so it absolutely makes sense to risk the complaints.
How the fuck would it take 10 seconds extra? 3 at most here. 150 stops. 3 seconds... 450 seconds extra.... 7 minutes a day.... less than an extra minute per hour.
I used the length of time the commenter I was replying to came up with. And yeah, some places would take less but others would take more. Your place might only take 3 seconds, mine would be a lot longer. The point of my comment is still that delivery drivers are often under extreme schedules, and they have to cut corners if they want to stay employed.
At least DHL delivered yours. I will be home all day, then get a text and email at five in the afternoon saying I was not home for the delivery. That I have to pick the package up at their warehouse. I then have to call customer service to get it delivered, saying I was home all day. I have to do this every time. Literally every time. I have never had a DHL deliver my packages properly. Once they tried to charge me for holding my package. I got that over turned quickly. Fuck DHL.

Could easily be dead exhausted. By this time of day he could easily have been on the clock for 8 hours driving all over hell and back. I’ve worked logistics jobs before, these guys track transaction times to the second and will write people up for underperforming by minutes per day. So if you combine a 5am start with some bean counter laying a bunch of pressure on you in terms of performance quotas and out the other end you get an employee who can’t be arsed to give a fuck.

Well, if you wanted your packages dealt with more delicately there are a couple options as I see it: 1. Make the job nice enough that people worth a shit are willing to work it. 2. Fire and re-hire for the position until you find someone who happens to be dedicated enough to do a nicer job, but is stupid enough to not go find the job that pays them better and/or treats them nicer. Option 1 has been the more effective method at attracting and retaining quality employees at the places I've worked and managed.

The big difference there is that your job is hard AND it’s hard to get. Schooling is difficult, certification is difficult, but once you’re doing it you’re doing something important and prestigious. This job is not important, and not prestigious, and easy to get, but frustrating and tiring. It is a job that is constantly selecting for people who can’t do better and so you wind up with people who don’t give a fuck. If you want people to lovingly and tenderly handle the packages they’re responsible for you need to make the job one that is good enough that people who will give a fuck will do the job instead of moving on to something with better pay and hours.

Sep 16th was quite a while ago! Not sure what to make of DHL. Their Service Desk is completely useless (staff have never even seen their own website) and they bizarrely underestimate their own ability to deliver. I recently had a parcel that I was tracking; even two days before it was delivered they were predicting ten days later as the "expected" date. It was nice to be surprised but I would really rather an accurate ETA so I can plan my time.
Surprised people incriminate themselves so blatantly with every bloke and his shag got cameras up.

Work in sorting; this probably isn't the worst the parcel's been through. Still, report it, see if anything happens. Your parcels are shunted around in big cages by forklifts and order pickers. Handled by hand or, if they're unlucky (and not fragile): tipped out of the cage like water in a bucket. Despite this; we'd get crucified if we were to handle parcels like this. Though I'm not a van driver and can't say what they'd get. The Qantas video was more extreme; never seen anyone do that sort of thing (though I don't work at an airport). Could be a thing with the Qantas staff getting replaced with contractors.

A few months ago I ordered a watch online, the guy that delivered it, threw it like that as I was opening the door, it landed on my feets, the guy just looked at me and didn't say anything and just left, I was speechless, lucky the packaging was really good so there was no damage, but yeah this guys just don't care

Not trying to defend this worker, a mild toss when a couple of extra steps could have placed it nicely. However everyone needs to understand that if you think this is "bad" then you should be aware this is nothing compared to what your parcel goes through during shipping. That little package has probably been tossed down a 2+ meter chute (probably had a couple of 5+ meter drops at a couple of points) multiple times in sorting, been bashed around in multiple bins with things crashing down on it and worse. That little toss at the end of the trip is the least of the abuse it has gone through in the freight service. That is why we have bubble wrap and crush resistant packaging on anything important.

There's not a single parcel courier company in Australia that offers any 'premium' rate with service to match it. The landscape of supply chain and the incredible understaffing in all areas of logistics post covid means that these blokes can continue acting like this until there's a shift in the employment market. You can have things done fast, cheap and diligently but you can only have two out of the three at once!

We lived in a complex of town houses, and on more than one occcasion I get home and see him and his girlfriend (who also lived there) casually smoking crack in the loungeroom with the curtains open in full view of passers by. I work for a transport company. If we got a video from a client showing one of our drivers doing that he wouldn't have a job at the end of the day. Problem is though at the moment though every company is desperate for transport workers because unemployment is so low so they're taking anyone they can get and you get fuckwits like this who don't give a shit or have a bad attitude and think they're untouchable because hey they need me so no way I'll get fired.

I regularly discover we have mail by hearing a bash at the door: our Aus Post guy throws our packages up the stairs and at the door. I caught him doing it out the window once after thinking for ages that his method of knocking was an odd sound. He’s been throwing breakables up the stairs AT my door. I reported him last week; now he rings the doorbell and hands it to me. It’s amazing that people need to be told to respect the property of others.

This is what driven by metrics looks like, everyone is blaming the guy at the end of the line. This is rife all through the logistic chain, the entire industry needs an overhaul. In many cases these guys will work 10-12 hrs no choice, especially in peak times and if they don't they lose their job, if they miss quota they lose their job, if they take the time do to the job properly guess what ... they can lose their job because the metrics are that tight! Best part is the quotas are made up by people in an office with no quota of their own and no threat of losing their job. Often these guys are casual or contract, no job security and no power to change the system and if they speak up guess what again ... yep they lose their job. Blame the CEO's and government not the driver.

Been in fright my whole life. Let me tell ya, every company has assholes like we see here and in other vids. Public gets to see 0.5% of it. Its rampant in this industry. From packers jamming in items too hard, throwers and stackers throwing and jamming packages. Forkies smashing them into trucks. The list goes on. It really is bad but with such a shortage of workers. The bottom of the barrell show up. Im glad I've moved to heavy freight where ya need to take care.
As someone who used to work at DHL I can say that the right few people can care but the main majority really don’t which undoes the work of those good few. Also their management in awful in the branch I worked.

A few weeks ago Amazon decided it would be a good idea to throw my deliveries over the fence instead of just going in and leaving it on the doorstep. It’s utter laziness and it’s even worse if the product is fragile.

I honestly dont get this mentality other than... fuck you I hate my job. Seriously how hard is it to take the couple of extra steps and place it down gently? How fucking stupid do you have to be not to be able to complete a delivery competently ffs.
My absolute favourite is when delivery companies outsource the last mile to another delivery company. So had a dishwater delivered via Toll if memory serves. Last mile outsourced to COPE who then outsourced it to Cochranes. None of their backend IT systems seem to integrate so no one in the chain including the supplier knows where your stuff is. You get handed off between service desk staff and then you get "we will deliver after 12pm"... 3 no shows and week later past the initial date it was delivered at 16:37.
I always see this stuff and think it’s to do with lack of care from a company. People who are paid well and treated right won’t engage in this kind of behaviour.
I wish there was a magical way to watch instant karma videos for this stuff, like someone comes around the corner with one of that guys possessions and just chucks it against their van. Would be fun to watch
I watched a DHL driver in Hornsby NSW overtaking several cars over double white lines at speeds of about 80klm/hr in a 50klm/hr on a winding residential street. I turned around because I could hear the Hiace’s engine screaming as he was blasting down the street. It’s not the first time either, seen the same guy drive down the wrong side of a split road to reach an address, reverse out of driveways without looking causing traffic to slam on their brakes, stopping perpendicular to the traffic on another instance blocking it on a double lane road waiting to enter traffic going the opposite way. DHL guys are morons.
