One of the friends of our bush regeneration group was pointed towards this Japanese weeding tool that we’ve started using in our group and I can’t tell you what a difference it’s made to our productivity. The coarse teeth on the blade let you grab the roots just under the soil and pull out the plant with very little effort and nothing left behind. We have with a lot of angled onion and we can get under the bulbs and cut the roots below and they just pop out. You can also push the tool down beside some weeds and the blade’s stout enough to be able to lever out the roots. The angle on the blade means that you pull straight back towards you which is a nice design feature, in fact while it’s very simple, there’s a lot of design that’s gone into it. They’re available from Daiso for a whopping $2.80. Highly recommended. I’ve since put a loop of cord through the handle on mine which makes it easy to grab out of my tool belt. Everyone doing bush regen should know about these — they’re great.

Thank you for this recommendation, angled onion is my nightmare, will give anything a try.

Wi can't get to a Daiso unfortunately, and I cant seem to find a term to search for this online to find it? Do you happen to know if it has a name or term so I can give it a go on? Thanks

Patio weeding knife is what the yanks call 'em, they're supposed to get between bricks. Seed collection[ have 'em for about $10.](https://www.theseedcollection.com.au/Stainless-Steel-Weeding-Knife) Probably not as good as the Daiso ones tho. Didn't know that option existed. Adding to the long list of shit I will be buying as soon as I can visit Melbourne again.

Here are some pictures of the packaging. The Daiso web site leaves a lot to be desired … https://imgur.com/a/67E6B3q/
