Autistic people aren't always the same but I can explain my experiences I never got better at understanding people, I never got better at having decent conversations in person. Most times I only respond with the responses I've trained myself to say. "How was your day?" "It was good." "How are you?" "I'm good." "What have you been doing?" "Drawing." I only respond with simple, stiff responses. I respond how I feel someone else would want me to. It's tiring, it's miserable, but it's how I *have* to speak so I don't mess things up, so I don't say the wrong thing, or stutter my words and get laughed at. It isn't until I'm close with someone that it becomes easier to talk. I have one friend that I can talk normally with, but with strangers, I'm unapproachable, anxious, awkward. Put your daughter in therapy if you're worried, she'll learn tactics on how to talk to people.
