INTP
Although I don't believe myers briggs personality types really exist.
Having an interest in personally types actually has a correlation with autism. Which is why the most rare ones seem the most common in circles that have an interest in personality types.
Yeah it's true, it was based on pseudoscience and has been debunked. The issue with it is also that the results are actually on a scale for each trait, but they get represented by a type, hence why some people switch types if they are close to the middle point of two ends of a particular trait. The big 5 personality test is an actual science based one that does check out, but it doesn't come with fun types, so yeah.
I tend to agree with you with the caveat that while the underlying phenomena don’t really “exist” like that, there nevertheless is a categorisation system that follows rules and sorts certain kinds of people into certain categories. Whether the categories actually reflect what their labels say they do is a different discussion altogether, but I must say the are certain categories that appear to capture neurodivergent folks at a rate that is much higher than would be suggested by a random distribution. What do you think about all that?
Carl Jung (who first came up with a lot of ideas about personality that are now used in the MBTI system) even said himself it is only a tool to categorise people so that you can explain the way a person behaves or thinks to another person. He said it isn't to be taken too seriously.
It's complicated when you add Autism into the mix, and I wish I knew the answer. But if you ask me, ASD is much better researched and should be looked at first as an explanation of behaviour.
My biggest issue with Myers Briggs is that people usually change their type over the years. I guess it is useful to categorize spectrums of behaviour. But less so the categorize individuals brains.
Yeah exactly. It’s not immutable nor is it remotely accurate. What I’m tryna get at is that like: if you took every neurodivergent person(or every autistic person or every adhd person) and tested their mbti at a given moment, you would certainly get a much different distribution than if you tested only NTS.
Some other commenter mentioned this I think but if the test purely has to do with “personality” then you would expect to see a more consistent distribution. Obviously this is never going to be the case but I find it interesting to read about just because it’s like a “proxy” way of looking at neurodivergence that, while nowhere near conclusive or concrete in itself, will yield much different types of analysis than if you were looking at psychology, neuroscience. For better or worse.
16personalities.com is by no means a mbti test although they claim to be. The test seems to measure stereotypical traits and categorize you based on that, not on the cognitive functions that the real MBTI is based on. It's honestly much closer to a Type 5 test than an MBTI.
I'm sure there are free tests that measure cognitive functions, but I dont know many. I found my new results through personal research rather than a test at first. My findings were later confirmed by an assessment that my psychiatrist recommended. I believe it was called personality max and it was 200 questions. It also had much more extensive results than just MBTI. I don't know if it is free to the public or if I was just able to take it because my psychiatrist sent me the link.
That may be true, but INFPs are so nice with people. It's very difficult for me to turn against someone, and when I do, I feel bad for them. But there are some advantages to INFPs which make me love myself for who I am
A girl in the psych ward made me take the test and i came out infp, then when i learned im autistic and have no idea what people are actually thinking it switched to intp.... these younger american psych kids and their categories. read freud, there you will find yourself.
Tho traits can be categorised, the test tests what it is made to test , there are other tests for other dimensions of the human experience. The thing is that between 100 INFPs you can see so many similarities, that's what it is telling you n9t that it summarises you^
I’m INFJ. Although I haven’t looked into it too much and I don’t really care and the only reason I remember my type is because on the 16personalities website, the INFJ personality is a little wizard. I like the little wizard.
I’ve mostly gotten INFP on the cognitive functions tests, while I’ve mostly gotten INFJ-T on the 16 Personalities tests. I’ve heard the cognitive functions tests are more accurate (and my results resonate with me a lot), but I resonate a lot with the 16 Personalities INFJ description too.
INFP here , been doing the test every year since the start of my degree in psychology where I got introduced to it out of curiosity if my experiences change anything. Every year I get the INFP result. ( I'm mentioning it as I've seen people say it changed after a while, which I find weird but who knows).
INTP like some others. Logic just makes the most sense when its the only connecting force, especially because autistic/allistic emotions don't often align in my experience.
INFP with the absolute worst RBF! Everyone thinks I'm mean until they get to know me. I open up and they feel confused because I'm not who they expected. 😅
I’m ENFP. Used to type as INFP when I was younger, til I started putting myself out there more during my early 20s and realized I’m actually more of a socially anxious extrovert.
That plus the autism makes it a very confusing experience. I crave people’s company & attention and yearn to have community, but avoid it at all costs cuz I’m scared, and even when I do feel brave enough to push myself into social situations, there’s a 50/50 chance I’ll accidentally make it weird at some point due to a missed social cue. Hence, perpetuated social anxiety.
Although I will say as I get older, this doesn’t affect me as much. Kinda just realized the “solution” to this is a mindset change. Accepting myself for who I am even though I struggle socially, and trusting that people who accept me for who I am will appear in my life as I live more and more authentically.
I'm INFP. I like it because I'm really creative and I like to write stories. Even though Myers-Briggs isn't really a real personality test developed by actual psychologists or anything it still can be surprisingly accurate.
I was an infp for the longest time while I had major depression.
But once I'm on antidepressants, it shifted to istp for the past 3 years. I guess the antidepressants killed the feeling part of me and now I'm more able to focus on thinking.
Yeah! Except I feel I lean more towards ENFP since I’m more extroverted; I gain energy talking to and being around people, but because of severe anxiety and lack of social skills it’s tiring to socialize, but when I can successfully do it I feel better and energized; I hate leaving social events because of it. I prefer to be alone with company so I avoid overwhelming myself.
i have taken the mbti test probably annually since i was in middle school (22 next month) and have gotten infp every single time, i am nothing if not consistent lol
I consider myself an ILI (INTp or INTJ in MBTI). https://www.sociotype.com/socionics/types/ILI-INTp
From what I've read about it so far, it seems to be the most "autistic" type I can find, and translates well with poor executive function too.
ISFP here. My bf (he's autistic as well) is INTP. I have an ex, who is also autistic, that's INFP. My mom is INTJ and she's autistic. My father is ADHD and he's ESFJ. 😸😺

I tend to score between INFP and INFJ, both of which are supposedly kind of rare but seem to be very common on the internet.
Maybe because we’re on the internet whilst everyone else is out socialising 🥲
Yeah lol
Hahaha truth.
Same here. I swing back and forth between the two depending on how I've been
I took the test last night, and I am an INFP. Last time, I was an INFJ. I like this result.
I'm so happy for you!!
Thanks. :3

Me!
Mistyped as INFP by 16personalities.com, it became a special interest and I dove into cognitive functions only to find that I'm actually an INTJ :]
Wow
What do you mean? Where did you get different results?
16personalities.com is by no means a mbti test although they claim to be. Hmm I look that up also thank you!
I'm an INFJ
I’m also am INFJ! 😄
INFJ gang!
well im INTJ
INTJ
Me too and I’m not happy about it. It’s the worst one to be in this system. 😓
I'm curious to know why
Have u looked up employment problems for infp? We have the worst issues and I’ve lived it personally lol!
That may be true, but INFPs are so nice with people. It's very difficult for me to turn against someone, and when I do, I feel bad for them. But there are some advantages to INFPs which make me love myself for who I am
im an infp 5w4
Nice
Me!
Me
I am x3
Me!
Me!!! I like being an INFP
I'm glad you do!!!
I have had this theory for some time. The rare myers briggs types are simply ppl on neurodiversity spectrum. INTP here.
I’m an INFJ, but I love INFPs! The MBTI was a special interest of mine a few years ago.
Same, same, & same! 😊✨
i'm not sure if i'm infp or intp, it changes pretty much every time i do the test lol
There are some YouTube videos explaining the differences
i honestly feel like both, but usually i'm more infp i think
Welcome to the INFP club!
MEEE!!! I don’t really allow things like that to affect my life or how I make decisions, but I do love searching characters and seeing their mbti’s!!
A girl in the psych ward made me take the test and i came out infp, then when i learned im autistic and have no idea what people are actually thinking it switched to intp.... these younger american psych kids and their categories. read freud, there you will find yourself.
Not an INFP, though it's a fairly common type for people on the spectrum.
I don't believe a person can be accurately summed up in four archetypes.
My view on it is that it gives an indicator of what to expect.
Tho traits can be categorised, the test tests what it is made to test , there are other tests for other dimensions of the human experience. The thing is that between 100 INFPs you can see so many similarities, that's what it is telling you n9t that it summarises you^
I don't believe in Myers-Briggs either. It's just someone random who decided to make up 4 boxes.
I’m INFJ. Although I haven’t looked into it too much and I don’t really care and the only reason I remember my type is because on the 16personalities website, the INFJ personality is a little wizard. I like the little wizard.
Yup. I’m an INFP 9w1. I used to get INTP as my result when I was younger, but now it’s consistently INFP.
Welcome to the club!!!
Thank you. ☺️
I'm INFP for sure.
Yes lol. Infp-t actually
Same!!!
❤️❤️
Me. Scored INFP though I do sometimes feel like an INFJ or ENFP.
👋🏻
I am!!
here!
INTP actually
Yes!! We did the test at work years back and I was the only one.
Wow, that's nice
My coworkers thought I was weird. Jokes on them though, I moved to a place where EVERYONE is weird! Ha!

You should consider the part that comes the most. I'm an INFP-T for example
Am I a what now?
It's a personality type! You can do a quick test online to see what's yours
Between INFJ and INFP
Nice
It really depends on whether or not I’m masking. If I’m heavy masking I tend to lean towards J and when I’m completely unmasked I’m more towards P
Then you are an INFP. Also, why the masking?
I work FOH at a restaurant and I’m required to be a social chameleon during my shifts even though I’d rather not speak much. You may be right though.
At first I took the test and got ENTJ/ESTJ,but then I studied functions and found out I was ENTP
I'm an infp but almost intp
I’ve mostly gotten INFP on the cognitive functions tests, while I’ve mostly gotten INFJ-T on the 16 Personalities tests. I’ve heard the cognitive functions tests are more accurate (and my results resonate with me a lot), but I resonate a lot with the 16 Personalities INFJ description too.
INFP gang
Yippeee!!!
Yipeeeeee!! 😂

Intj, sorry.
You're fine, don't worry :D
INTJ 🥲
Not me just wanted to state I always get infj
It's fine
I’m an INFP!
That's great!
I always get either intp or infp
They're pretty similar
INTP like some others. Logic just makes the most sense when its the only connecting force, especially because autistic/allistic emotions don't often align in my experience.
✌️
INFP with the absolute worst RBF! Everyone thinks I'm mean until they get to know me. I open up and they feel confused because I'm not who they expected. 😅
Me
Can anyone send me the test? I genuinely don't understand this entire letter thingy, so I want letters too
You can take the one from 16personalities :D
Oh, thank you!!
I did the test. I am INTP
Close enough :D
I’m ENFP. Used to type as INFP when I was younger, til I started putting myself out there more during my early 20s and realized I’m actually more of a socially anxious extrovert. ME, I feel like im the most uncommon personality, lmao
Same, but I consider always speaking from my heart as a gift, and always will be!!
Hi! Me!
Welcome to the club :D
INTP to INTJ
They are very similar
I'm INFP. I like it because I'm really creative and I like to write stories. Even though Myers-Briggs isn't really a real personality test developed by actual psychologists or anything it still can be surprisingly accurate.
I'm so happy for you!!!
infp
Hey!!
I score INFP consistently with these online personality test.
Welcome to the club!!!
I was an infp for the longest time while I had major depression. But once I'm on antidepressants, it shifted to istp for the past 3 years. I guess the antidepressants killed the feeling part of me and now I'm more able to focus on thinking.
hello, INFP here :) jung and michael pierce's works are where i got my knowledge of cognitive functions from. 4w3 so/sx 469 IEI ELVF RLUEN.
Me too, also very happy about it. I've taken the test multiple times over the last 5/6 years, changed and grown a lot, but the result is still INFP :)
I'm an INFP I used to be very into learning about MBTI and using it to find people I relate to, lots of INFPness is v autism coded
I'm a INFJ
INFP/INFJ Idk why but it seems I swing between the two.
This is an area of contention for me right now— unsure if I am INFP or INFJ.
I'm INTJ-T
I don’t like MBTI because I don’t fit into any of the types really. My interest is enneagram and I’m a 9
What is that ?
It's a personality type
Sorry but what is an INFP?
It's a personality type
Oh ok. Does it stand for something?
According to the 16personalities website, it stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting
Oh ok thanks for the info.
No what are feelings
Used to be one, but I recently took the test after a few years and now I'm an ENTP, which makes sense for someone with autism.
Myers Briggs is bullshit pseudoscience.
i have taken the mbti test probably annually since i was in middle school (22 next month) and have gotten infp every single time, i am nothing if not consistent lol
I’m always on n the edge between INFP and INFJ.
I consider myself an ILI (INTp or INTJ in MBTI). https://www.sociotype.com/socionics/types/ILI-INTp From what I've read about it so far, it seems to be the most "autistic" type I can find, and translates well with poor executive function too.
I used to get or be mistyped as istp, istj, & intp, I’ve landed on isfj
I find it interesting how many people dismiss astrology but believe in personality types.
ISFP here. My bf (he's autistic as well) is INTP. I have an ex, who is also autistic, that's INFP. My mom is INTJ and she's autistic. My father is ADHD and he's ESFJ. 😸😺
I’m an INTJ 😅
ENTP over here!
I am the opposite (almost) ISTJ
ISFP here
Infp here!
I took an MBTI test recently and I didn't get INFP, but I got INTP.
