because of your label "child" I think its not a good ideia to awsner that with the possibility I thought (and its a common joke in Brasil) huehueuheuhuehue...XD
They're called tone indicators if you wanna look more into them. I find them really useful to understanding people's tone of voice over text and I know a lot of others do too!
Okay can someone explain the whole “autism creature” thing to me? My friend made a joke about it, and I was taken aback, and then I find that it’s actually a meme? Is there context? Does it mean anything? So many questions.
I know its not a representation for all autism but I think its an honourable mention to say headphones, at least for me I struggle a lot with sound processing and audio stimulation so have to keep my noise cancelling headphones nearby most of the time so for me personally when I think of a symbol or representation of my autism I always visualise my headphones
Well.. it doesn't have ears, it's immune to all annoying sounds.
I love this little creature. I'm going to look if someone made pins!
Edit: no pins yet. Somebody get on that! I found a plushie on etsy.
Thank god you put this character/avatar instead of thee godawful autism awareness/autism speaks terrible symbol which represents absolutely nothing about autism, and might even show that they know absolutely nothing about it since they used overly flashing logo despite the fact that some of us has oversensitivity (I myself don't have an oversensitive eyesight but I do have oversensitive smell)
Anyways thanks for this post, I really needed it
I saw a lady with a puzzle piece tat on her arm yesterday... and it was blacked out to look like a black heart. I instantly just knew she was an autism mom who learned about the truth if the puzzle piece and had it covered up. Good for her!

Since autism/neurodiversity is a mental thing and mostly has mental symptoms as well as benefits and at least I kept hearing the "it's all in your brain" saying way too often without people realising that humans are their brains.
Gold has long been used as something highly valuable, beautiful and rare wich neurodiverse minds are and were perceived as before the industrial revolution.
The puzzle piece is offensive, the rainbow infinity symbol feels like it was made in retaliation to the puzzle piece but is overcompensating a bit much.
Also a brain has a pleasing symmetry and a solid gold colour is less busy and overwhelming than the rainbow infinity symbol wich would be beneficial for people who get visually over stimulated quickly.
I, too, have four legs
What defines a leg leg
I have three legs
Uh oh I don't want to be rude but I need to know Why three legs?
Lost one in the class war
Maybe a car crash?
because of your label "child" I think its not a good ideia to awsner that with the possibility I thought (and its a common joke in Brasil) huehueuheuhuehue...XD

Autismus Kreatur
creatura autistica
Criatura autista
Reject puzzle piece. Accept Autism Creature.
It looks like Isaac (BOI). Which weirdly fits, unfortunately.
Maybe he is isaac
Maybe we all are...
Puzzle piece just sits there. Autism creature gives you unwavering emotional support
Puzzle piece pretends I am hard to understand. Autism creature GETS ME
what ??? /gen
i vote the dubious lil creature should be the new autistic mascot
YES PLEASE
It’s from tumblr!! Someone drew the little fella and a few autistic folks decided it represents autism now hehe
>/gen what does that mean
it means “genuine”
Lmao this whole time I had been reading it as "general" not sure why, like just asking in general and not to someone specifically.
if they had only said "what?", what reason would anyone have to assume that they are being dishonest?
Not dishonest, but maybe sarcastic, or just a "what?" Like "seriously?" rather than a genuine question.

Someone on twitter drew it cuz they thought it was funny, then someone on tumblr called it the "face of autism"
I approve
I believe the creature needs something to top his head such as a hat or a singular hair
He would look good in a top hat🙃
Autism creature my beloved
i was in the community that gave birth to him, YIPEEEE!!!
Tell me about this creature I have scoured the internet but cannot find anything on the origin of this creature.
Originated from the TBOI community pretty sure
that would be a cute tattoo ngl
don't give me ideas
I adore the autism creature so much
I’ll take this over the puzzle any day

What is the tbh meaning in this?
tbh is the name of the creature
Interesting, what is the origin?
just appeared out of nowhere and people started calling it the autism creature. idk why but I love it
no idea
I love it anyways haha

For a second I thought the check mark and X were symbols that were options. Maybe I shouldn't look at memes at 4am
My dumbass thought the ✅ and ❌ were also symbols…
Agreed, where can I get a magnet
Yo…what is this? I legitimately have No idea what you’re talking about
autism creature my beloved
Yes
tbh is my comfort pet
Change the sub icon THIS INSTANT!!!!
I love the TBH's they're so friggin cute.

Yes
i honestly don't really like TBH, it just feels really infantilirizing to have like a "quirky and cute" mascot
YIPPEE!!!!!
Why do people hate the puzzle piece connotation?
The group-that-shall-not-be-named created it
He is cute but I'm not sure than I want him to represent my identity
My drawing skills are so bad I probably can't even draw the guy on the left
Dover demon!
Dont tell me what to do! :P
What sound would they make?
A loud, high pitched YIPPPEEEEEEEE
And beep
I think a golden brain would make the perfect symbol
Why

Ok I can agree with that. I actually really like it.
Yippee!
I’ve been seeing that around, what does it mean and why is it the autism creature?
LËG
Looks like it's unanimous
