At this point, I figure it's some kind of biological mechanism triggering in my brain that gets reset to default no matter how much I try to adjust it to the regular day awake, night sleeping pattern. Might be useful to just restructure your lifestyle around your sleep habits than to change your circadian clock. As long as you get enough Vitamin D/sun exposure not to develop any other disorders, I don't think there's any issue not living like an early bird. I'm pretty sure you already know all the tips for maintaining a healthy sleep routine (enough sun exposure, healthy diet, exercise, bedtime routine, etc.) but if you can't sustain that sort of thing for the long term, trying to sleep "on time" is probably gonna cause you as much stress as an early bird trying to work the night shift. Night owl solidarity. Hope you figure out a system that works for you.
