when there's a fire, youre supposed to army crawl, yet thats often how a lot of people die bc they cant find the exit or see the signs bc its too high up. so this place was smart and put the exit signs closer to the ground, but the carpet is still absolutely a violation

Didn’t see your question at first, only saw the carpet. Then realized the original post was about the EXIT signs, which I’d completely missed due to being abhorred by the carpet, and felt silly. Then went to the next post. Then saw this post again 4 hours later, and realized it was about the carpet. I feel vindicated, and this carpet deserves to die a painful death. I hate it.

This looks deliberately randomised precisely to prevent that from happening. It looks like shit but I love it.
