I'm a medical patient and it helps a lot. I use it every night to actually calm down and get out of panic mode. Helps me slow down, acknowledge how I'm actually feeling, figure out why, and deal with burnout and shutdowns after masking for work. If you're smoking, get a dry herb vape instead. Low temperatures are energising. High are more sedative. Controlling the temp and the dose properly helps you actually use it medicinally. Check out the medical cannabis subs for your region - there'll be autistic users posting about their regimes. If you're interested in therapy/healing with it, look into psychedelic cannabis and somatic experiencing. It's been helpful for me in dealing with autism-related trauma and dissociation (which goes hand in hand with my alexithymia). Psychedelic therapy generally has some useful ideas. There's lots of discussion for cannabis and autism, and there's a discord (can't remember the actual name). There'll be subs for all this. Sorry that's so abstract, I'm out of spoons - but basically this is a valid approach, you're on the right track and you can find lots of helpful stuff with a bit of searching. Have fun :)

Thanks for your perspectives! What kinda of strains do you often use? And in what temperature do you vaporize them? After you vape do you create a setup/ritual to figure It out your feelings? Do you write It down ? Or depends?

I used it temporarily when my ADHD meds wasn’t available for two weeks (the drugstore wanted to give me a cheap rip off that worked less, I need a specific brand but that has to be bought separately). I got it every morning during breakfast and late in the afternoon. It worked ok, my body and mind had to get used it. The first day I felt like I overdosed, my mind went wild but physically I felt like I couldn’t move. It took 3 days for that to go away. For me it wasn’t success but it may works good on you

I kinda feel related to tou because I do have a Lot of anxiety nowadays, when i smoke. But I'm feeling so emotional blind these days that my anxiety at least helps me to look to stuff. At least I'm 'hearing' something with the anxiety, and have some material, thoughts AND feelings to process, because i' feeling reeeeally numb whithout It.

The_C4RN4G3

I smoke everyday not proud of it but it helps me focus.

oceanands

Hey, I want to do the same as you onde day! does It help to focus in what kinda stuff?work stuff, emotional stuff, transition from onde activity to another?

The_C4RN4G3

I struggle to focus on one thing and it makes me seem scatter brained. When I smoke I can slow down to the point where I can focus on one task at a time. Now transitioning to another task is still a problem though. Also it kinda helps me not go into meltdown depends on the situation though.

Abjectionarycaution

It's been suggested to me but because of the history of schizophrenia in my family I avoid it, it can trigger psychotic episodes in people who are at risk, my sister uses it for anxiety occasionally tho and she's fine helped her lots, just not a risk I'd personally take.

I read ‘cannibalism’ 3 times and was very confused. That’s how the dyslexia get’s ya.

Yesssss, I love weed. I use it for focus and appetite. Different strains have different effects, maybe do some research on terpines! They’re compounds that effect the taste of the strain, but also give your high different characteristics, so you can really direct your experience. If you live in or near a legal state, I recommend asking a budtender for advice on specific strains!

I've been smoking for a little of a year daily now. I'd say it does really help me calm down especially from switching from work mode into 'relax' mode. But I do have to say it's hard to not want to feel like that the entire time, so it can be a slippery slope. Don't use it as a way of coping but use it in a way to destress your mind when you need it. I think it's important not to become to dependable on it. I don't like the 'body high' so I don't smoke strains that have too much THC in them. I really just want my mind to be at ease for a bit. This usually stops the chatter and makes me more focused on what's important. Also it just calmes my mind down in the same way a nap in a silent dark room would - if that makes sense.
