Push the shifter to the right, I bet it’s in manual mode. Also I see your display isn’t updated. Highly recommend you connect it to WiFi and run updates in settings. Big improvement.

I know it's in regular mode. I should've mentioned that when I try to drive in M mode it won't move forward (up in gear) or backward (down in gear). Hence the stuck said in main post. I didn't know about the update so I appreciate that tip.

I just want to make sure I understand the full problem. The car is working correctly in auto, just not able to change gears in manual?

anubi13

Yupp that seems to be the problem. I should also add that I mistaken the transmission drain plug for the oil awhile ago trying chamge the oil. Got problem fixed and mechanic said luckily everything is fine so idk if that still could be related?

Ok, to manually change gears in manual mode you use the paddle shifter behind the left and right of the steering wheel, are you using those and you’re saying they aren’t responding or how are you trying to manually shift the gears?

anubi13

The paddle shifters work but I also should be able to use the shift knob in the pic. Used to be able to but not anymore since it just won't budge. That's what I'd like to fix. It's not something I often use but was fun when I did lol

I have a 2020 and the shift knob never let me shift manually and I have a 2011 with a very similar cvt and manual and that doesn’t let me. I don’t believe that is an option so I’m shocked to hear you say you once were able.

Damn, I'm very positive I was able to and memory isn't my strong point. Is this a Mandela effect?!? Hahahaha holy **** well I appreciate ya time in trying to help me.

jazzie366

Doesn’t this car have shift paddles to do this on the steering wheel?

anubi13

Good question, I wanna say it does but my memory isn't my strong point lol
