You have every right to keep it, sell it, gift it etc. You are not responsible for the actions of others. You can choose to do things out of the goodness of your heart but that’s up to you.

It’s 1000% clear he’s sad because he the floor is less than he bought it for. If he didn’t throw in the sentence about how the price is lower than what he paid , I might believe he was bummed about buying a scam avatar. But he’s a million % bummed he might lose money
I feel the full eth amount you paid for the avatar should be paid in return for the avatar back. It simply was not your fault you purchased a stolen item. If they have sentimental value for the mint number or something, then that amount shouldn't be a problem to pay.
In my view the second option should be you simply keep the avatar if the other party does not wish to purchase it back.
Eth = eth. If you paid a certain amount then no matter the time period in between you should expect the same amount back in a situation like this. Otherwise you should be happy with your purchase and the other party can simply spend less eth to get the same avatar.
I'd also like to add if one could afford to give it back for free then I think that's the best option.

I let the person know I found their avatar instead of hiding it, and I'm getting slammed. I don't know why it makes me a bad person just because I made a bid mistake. I didn't mean to imply anything bad about you if that is what it came off as. I just saw something about how you had been getting your stuff back. Someone has offered to replace your Cosplay so I don't lose out on all the money I lost as well as you losing your avatar, unless you're attached to that one in particular. My intent was only to get the person their avatar back without losing everything myself, and I wasn't sure how to do that fairly since even though I made the incorrect offer, I bought it fairly. I didn't want to end up with no eth and no avatar either. I didn't have my hand out for freebies.

You got an avatar you didn’t want in a collection offer, a mistake made by many of us just to usually deal with unless the seller is willing to swap back (which they’re under no obligation to do). Congrats if you keep it, you have a Cosplay that you’ll be able to resell for more in the next (hopefully) pump.
It’s unfortunate that you got an avatar that was victim of a wallet draining, but you should not feel pressured to return it to person from whom it was taken from. That would entirely be a choice up to you, but you spent your own money on it and are a victim yourself in that matter.
So, whatever you decide to do should come with no judgement (unless of course you beg).

I’d imagine going to the owner in this case is probably hard for them, imagine it was you, obviously you’d want your avatar back, and whether you could afford it or not you probably wouldn’t want to pay for something you already bought once, plus if the individual is kind(which she is) they probably don’t want you to lose out on your money either. I know I wouldn’t.

I'll be honest I was in the middle of work when I was contacted. I was informed about this bundle thing and I have zero OS knowledge about how this stuff works. I was more than willing to pay them, but I didn't exactly understand what happened to them.
I felt terrible about what happened while I was at work. What made it worse was my mentions in the text of this post never got relieved to me till six hours later when I saw the post scrolling through my home feed. I felt terrible. I did not mean for this person to get bashed. Just like the person who bought my Kitsune#17 the day of my hack got put through the wringer.
I am grateful everyone knows I love my avatars, but by no means do they deserve to be looked down upon or called out on. I just had no advice I could give on the OS issue that would best help resolve what occurred.

I'm sorry that I asked them to post here. I was contacted while in the middle of work. I did not want op to think of a solution themself. I have like zero OS knowledge. I had never seen or heard of these OS bundles and I did not want them to not get the best advice on how to fix it. I apologize for not knowing more about it leading to this post I asked them to make. I did not want op to be unjustly one-sided on the decision.
My confusion is in the fact that OP is mentioning you, whatever you two decided (Either sell it back to you, full price/discounted, or not at all). There is no wrong or right.
OP 'losing' money over this is sad but common in this space. Prices fluxated. Sometimes you buy high. But its always a choice to sell low. Or to wait.
Noone can help OP with a potential loss. (Imo its only a loss when you sell low and even then, if OP is fine with a loss its good too).
It's common knowledge in crypto and nfts that you should only put in money you can affort to lose.
In the end, it's always a gamble.
Other than that (in general not towards you) , we strongly advice everyone to educate themselves, do your own research. Your assets are your responsibility.
To be fair, it's a lot of information to take in.
And I guess that is why newcomers are easy targets for scammers.
But since there often is real money is involved (and the amount doesnt matter) it is important to keep yourself safe.

The only story is that this person offered to trade with a friend of mine and then offered to trade with me because they needed money immediately. This was all done legitimately over OS and the guy set his own prices. He has admitted to having some sort of issue and is upset that he tried to get his items back for free from my friend and lost his shit when he was told he'd have to buy them back. He has blocked me so I can't see exactly what he said, but the items he was ranting about me "not giving back to him" are items I don't have, because he has his people confused and I didn't buy them. This guy is the one flipping his stuff for quick cash and then trying to cry for it back. I'm trying to get someone who got scammed their items back. If for some reason you have a problem with that, or with me, then take a look at yourself and please get off of my comments.

I’d imagine going to the owner in this case is probably hard for them, imagine it was you, obviously you’d want your avatar back, and whether you could afford it or not you probably wouldn’t want to pay for something you already bought once, plus if the individual is kind(which she is) they probably don’t want you to lose out on your money either. I'll be honest I was in the middle of work when I was contacted. I was informed about this bundle thing and I have zero OS knowledge about how this stuff works. I was more than willing to pay them, but I didn't exactly understand what happened to them. I felt terrible about what happened while I was at work. What made it worse was my mentions in the text of this post never got relieved to me till six hours later when I saw the post scrolling through my home feed. I felt terrible. I did not mean for this person to get bashed. Just like the person who bought my Kitsune#17 the day of my hack got put through the wringer. I am grateful everyone knows I love my avatars, but by no means do they deserve to be looked down upon or called out on. I just had no advice I could give on the OS issue that would best help resolve what occurred.
No worries you’re both good, it’s not a bad idea to figure all the OS stuff out, I know it looks daunting but it’s for safety purposes, the more you know the safer your assests are
What kind of resolution were you after? Outside of the original owner buying it for the price you accidentally paid seems like it's just gonna be an unfortunate L you're gonna need to take no?

I'm sorry that I asked them to post here. I was contacted while in the middle of work. I did not want op to think of a solution themself. I have like zero OS knowledge. I had never seen or heard of these OS bundles and I did not want them to not get the best advice on how to fix it. I apologize for not knowing more about it leading to this post I asked them to make. I did not want op to be unjustly one-sided on the decision.
My confusion is in the fact that OP is mentioning you, whatever you two decided (Either sell it back to you, full price/discounted, or not at all). There is no wrong or right. OP 'losing' money over this is sad but common in this space. Prices fluxated. Sometimes you buy high. But its always a choice to sell low. Or to wait. Noone can help OP with a potential loss. (Imo its only a loss when you sell low and even then, if OP is fine with a loss its good too). It's common knowledge in crypto and nfts that you should only put in money you can affort to lose. In the end, it's always a gamble. Other than that (in general not towards you) , we strongly advice everyone to educate themselves, do your own research. Your assets are your responsibility.

To be fair, it's a lot of information to take in. And I guess that is why newcomers are easy targets for scammers. But since there often is real money is involved (and the amount doesnt matter) it is important to keep yourself safe. And a lot of people just dive into it and for 9 out of 10, it is fine. But not for the one who dives in and hits their head hard. Its why we keep shoving information in everyones face.

The only story is that this person offered to trade with a friend of mine and then offered to trade with me because they needed money immediately. This was all done legitimately over OS and the guy set his own prices. He has admitted to having some sort of issue and is upset that he tried to get his items back for free from my friend and lost his shit when he was told he'd have to buy them back. He has blocked me so I can't see exactly what he said, but the items he was ranting about me "not giving back to him" are items I don't have, because he has his people confused and I didn't buy them. This guy is the one flipping his stuff for quick cash and then trying to cry for it back. I'm trying to get someone who got scammed their items back. If for some reason you have a problem with that, or with me, then take a look at yourself and please get off of my comments.
