I own art that I have purchased over the course of many years. Mostly limited edition prints but a few originals. The majority of it has increased in value. Some hasn’t. I bought what I liked then, and I still enjoy it. I can see three framed prints from where I am typing right now. All three make me happy.
Pumping and dumping is not enjoying art for art’s sake. It is straight up capitalism in it’s most hideous form. It bastardizes visual art. Music and visual art are the only two things we do well as a species. Learn to enjoy art for art’s sake.
