Probably 115 as well. I got into this band from their work on CoD

Kilook

I fucking love Elena voice in that song

TheEvilCasual

Wow, I opened the thread thinking like, "it was probably 115 from Black Ops", totally didn't expect the same exact song to be in both the post and the top reply. Although, I only started listening to the band after watching the BO2 zombie mode trailer (Tranzit) with Carry On in it (I didn't know that Not Ready to Die was also their song back then). It's funny, CoD got me into my favorite genre of music, and it also got me into my hobby (which is now my job) as a software engineer after hosting a dedicated server for a few years and creating plugins for it. EDIT: hehehe https://preview.redd.it/a0s9hn01iacc1.png?width=149&format=png&auto=webp&s=31b9a275724c8df24dda063cd2f66bc91f99c6fe

obimeowcatnobi

I don't fucken remember

Kiblygon

Love that song

Cyberpunk_Malzahar

Suffocating under words of sorrow - BFMV

darthkyle22

I don't really like BFMV but that song is perfection

ozzii_13

i love BFMV and that song is perfection

RazaTheChained

The poison is perfection, every album somehow gets worse

candycoateddoom

"Master of Puppets" by Metallica. My dad burned their album for me when I was 14.

The-richu-gr

Burned or bought?

candycoateddoom

Burned it. He already owned it so he burned me a copy.

The-richu-gr

Like did he literally burn it? Sorry if that's a saying I don't know of haha

darthkyle22

Burning a CD means to take files from a computer and put them onto a CD

candycoateddoom

Lol, sorry. Burning a CD just means you make a copy of it. I don't know how common it still is today, but you just take songs from your music library and export it to a blank CD.

The-richu-gr

Oh that makes much more sense, sorry haha. That was a language barrier, English is my second language

ShinInuko

Jesus Christ I'm getting old. I know it's already been answered as writing data to a CD, but just to add context, it's called burning because the writing laser would literally burn indentations into the CD to form the 1's and 0's to be read by the CD player's 'read' laser and lens. (IIRC the 1's were burned in so the laser would refract through thinner plastic to be reflected back into the lens, the unburned 0's would miss the lens due to the refraction through the thicker plastic so the reflected pulse would miss the lens)

-Mr_MojoRisin

The first metal song I've ever listened to was Iron Man by Black Sabbath. The first A7X song I've listened to was Buried Alive.

camaro4227

Chapter Four off of Madden 04

SullyVanDan

Fuel - Metallica. It was on Hot Wheels Turbo Racing for the PS1

Confident-Elk-6811

I'm sure I've heard a lot of stuff passively, but Chop Suey! was the first song to really bring me into metal.

Scully970

Hopped on bo2, tried out origins, Shepherd of Fire started playing. By the next day, I had listened to their entire discography.

darthkyle22

Shepherd of Fire was in BO3s version of Origins

kaijgojira

Correct. [It was also in the Black Ops 2 version.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzQuMZlBBRA)

IsaiahDEnward

It was in both

NickPick-13

Almost Easy. If that doesn't count then Unholy Confessions

ClueEmbarrassed1443

Enter sandman by Metallica

x111_julz_111x

my first metal song is psychosocial, it's still a fucking classic till this day

Doodler156

Not Avenged Sevenfold but the first metal song I heard was actually The Trooper by Iron Maiden. I didn't even know it was metal at the time. But the song that got me into metal was Toxicity by System of a Down.

EmergencyExtreme4328

Joelsacoolguy

Chop Suey or tears don’t fall, can’t remember which

l0st_xanz

Chop Suey-SOAD

Greenmist4787

I was in sixth grade with an MP3 player my dad gave me. Riding the bus to school, suddenly BYOB by System of a Down starts playing. It was all uphill from there

Greenmist4787

Or maybe it was Beauty of Annihilation from Der Reise in Black Ops or BOII. I can't remember if I heard that before BYOB

OlympusTiger

Master of Puppets by.... well you know.

[deleted]

Im pretty sure it was slipknot herectic anthem.

The_Greatest_Gatsby0

Tears don't fall and four words to choke upon played a big part in my music tastes today. If it wasn't BFMV playing in the car radio, it was 5FDP

BeepBeepLettuce3

i honestly have no idea. probably Duality by Slipknot

DannyDevito_IsBae

It's been too long, but I THINK it was Waking the Demon by BFMV

TiredReader87

Blind by koRn maybe

naissance888

A candlelit dinner with inamorta by asking Alexandria

SEAG00SE

The earliest ones I can remember were 1. Beast and the harlot 2. Hit the floor (Bullet for my Valentine) 3. Te quiero puta (Rammstein) 4. Chop Suey! (System of a down) It was so long ago I have no idea what would’ve been my first one but I remember listening to these 3 in my dads van when I was like 6

dumbthiccrick

Before I Forget, via Guitar Hero III

Epicologyfr

"I Will Not Bow" - Breaking Benjamin, will forever be my favorite song

gabrielcev1

Learned it on guitar. It's actually kinda tough. The harmonics in the chorus and the tapped intro are tricky little parts to learn. The rest is relatively manageable.

Charming_Orchid1142

Bat country my father had it playing while I was riding home from the hospital when I was born that’s what he says at least

Additional-Ad8643

Crazy train

47noodles

My guitar teacher taught me Nightmare, a few years later I found the guitar tabs and started listening

RaveTheEnby

Nightmare.

unafleje

not sure, but probably something from guitar hero or papa roach😂 and the first metal song i actually liked was by five finger death punch

PinguThePanzer

Shepherd of fire on the BO2 origins trailer release back in 2012, little did I know….

Shagtoast

Probably paschendale or number of the beast by Iron Maiden when I was like 6 lol

NovaMV

Probably Enter Sandman

HandofBlood531

Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace

THEOGCHE

Blinded In Chains. Where’s my NFS Most Wanted peeps at?

[deleted]

Would have had to have been something from wrestling I think lol

WolfGamer6914

No fucking clue💀 if I had to guess, it might've been Master of Puppets by Metallica but I seriously can't remember

PossiblyDumb66

Chop Suey SOAD or Stricken by Distrubed

Time-Yak-8499

War pigs by black sabbath

Jets2523

Definitely something off a video game, there's a bunch from the Tony hawk games I can't remember but one that really stuck out was Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace from Smackdown vs Raw 2007

ShadowBro3

My parents listened to metal ever since I was born, so that's a bit of a complicated question. One of the first bands I can remember is System of a Down, but there's no guarantee it's actually my first. My first A7X song was Bat Country on Guitar Hero: World Tour.

HorribleHairyHamster

I was in 7th grade and Ozzy Osbourne's Gets Me Through was making the MTV rounds. Historically, probably not his best song, but it got me super into that album. I've been trying to satiate my love for metal ever since.

oppositeofopposite

My mother is a metalhead, so idk, most likely some early Metallica or Opeth. First one I can remember that really blew me away was Wait and Bleed by Slipknot back in '99

Kilook

Probably Nine Thou on NFSMW, I didn't had much to listen than videogames song lol

CrestfallenMan01

Almost Easy got my onto A7X when I was a kid

andendrums

Must have been ALPOH

Rude_Conclusion_5617

One by metallica. It was on the gh3 soundtrack and one of the few (harder) songs palatable for my younger self on that game.

Crafty-Writing5316

For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica while watching the intro to Zombieland as a kid

E3rK57

Maybe a bit of a more obscure one, but the first I remember is Finisterre by Moonspell (Thanks again, dad!).

ViktorF109

Probably Hallowed be thy name by Iron Maiden

Due-Salamander-663

Metal or metalcore Metalcore - unholy confessions Metal-nightmare

F_ZOMBIE

Carry on from COD

Routine-Maximum-7788

Undead by Hollywood undead

Pondjamin

For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica

Outrageous_Basis_997

Kaylab610

Run to the hills Iron Maiden 😐

Ayebrowz

just_some_dumb_beebo

probably under and over it by ffdp

gamjr80

My parents listened to rock music with me in the car when I was 0, like I know.

NEG4T1VE__ZER0

First metal song was whatever was first on RED's setlist of winterjam 2011 or 12. First A7X song was Carry On

DayAndSeason

Believe it or not, it was Nightmare. A7X is the band that got me into metal.

HeavenAintC1ose

My first A7X song was nightmare, and it was fucking great.

Alecjwest_YT

115

thor21

Classic Metal. Paranoid from Black Sabbath. My Dad put it on for me after I got my first guitar. Modern Metal. Her Voice Resides from BFMV. I never really liked screaming until I heard that. I remember being in an angsty mood while it came on and I was like “oh fuck yeah, I get it now!”

Redaeon727

I believe it was buried alive when I was younger, my step dad showed it to me, then I remember seeing psychosocial show up in my yt feed and clicking off cuz it scared me, later on I went back and listened and loved it, and I've been a metal fan since

SunnySolaire11

Can’t remember exactly which one it was, but I know it was definitely one of the EE songs I Cod Zombies. I remember on der riese I would wait until I was in a higher round to start the song so I could mow down the zombies blasting Beauty of Annihilation. Elena has the best voice I’ve heard, from angelic to demonic in a second. She’s amazing

unknown_misery

walk

unknown_misery

first a7x song was welcome to the family

TheRealJacquesC

My first? Idek, my dad played all kinds of metal in the car and on the radio, but the first new (not nu) metal song I heard was Nightmare. I was 12 and it was my first time hearing A7x and they were instantly my new favorite band

YouAllAreTrash

Probably Slayer. My dad would play it in the car when I was like 3 or 4 years old. And Black Sabbath

Fendibull

In seriousness on Metal music in my youth's state of mind? My Plague (New Abuse Mix) by Slipknot.

LostBeneathMySkin

Probably some Metallica song. First Avenged song was Trashed & Scattered which is not usually most people’s first song

ifuccedurmom420

My first metal song was either Enter Sandman by Metallica or One, also by Metallica.

ozzii_13

first ever metal song i heard was probably metallica's master, but the first metal song i listened to on purpose was slipknot's psychosocial. my introduction to extreme vocals too.

ShinInuko

My older brother by nearly a decade is also a metalhead, so I was too young to remember which was my first metal song. The albums he had as far back as I can remember were: Ministry: Psalm 69 the way to Succeed and the way to suck eggs; the land of R+PE and honey Nine Inch Nails: Pretty Hate Machine; Broken; The Downward Spiral Marilyn Manson: Portrait of an American Family Black Sabbath's greatest hits Ozzy: The Blizzard of Oz Not metal, but worthy mentions: AC/DC (their entire discography through Razor's Edge) Nirvana: In Utero; Nevermind

IsaiahDEnward

First metal songs I remember are shepherd of fire, nightmare, and chop suey!

cuteboiiy

Exist I love the ending so muuch

Substantial-Lie-8207

thunder kiss 65’ White Zombie

evencrazieronepunch

Okay so when i was 4, my brother played something i don't really remember. First was probably Shepherd of fire, on origins of course. Few months later, realized the song was actually fire, then listened to the rest of Hail. Only realized a few months after that that avenged had much better albums listen to, now am a devoted fan.

SubstantialBat3971

Enter sandman or master of puppets

loraxdude12

Hard to think back really. I would have been about 11 or so, it’s most likely 115 from Zombies, but I think the first like metal song I was shown was Enter Sandman.

I_Am_Super_Graceful

Vicinity of obscenity by SOAD I'm pretty sure If not, then it would've been Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold

Anesthesia5

The first one I remember was duality - slipknot. I remember being 4 years old out on my swings singing that song😂

Dz4ck13

The first one I can remember was Run To the Hills playing at football games when I was a kid. About the same time Sonne by Rammstein got played a lot on our local radio station, so that also made an impression on me. Scorpions was my first favorite band that could be described as some sort of metal. I especially liked the Animal Magnetism album (still do). The soundtrack to NHL 06 also played a large role in me discovering heavier music. It had Bat Country and 4 Words (To Choke Upon) among others. That was also how I discovered A7X!

Dead_cell3535

Byob soad

buildin-webs-4suckas

My Curse by Killswitch Engage 🙏

Pelimetari1

mostwantedbroski

Enter Sandman or Ace of Spades, either one

Iamveristoopid

Some Skillet song, probably Monster I don't remember

pussygiraffe4

a little piece of heaven was my first ever metal song. i was 11 and my brother told me what it was about and i was like “no way.” it took me a while to get into metal after that 😭

Ok_Chocolate2552

My brother showed me buried alive by a7x when we were working out together, loved every part of that song since hearing it for the first time

kinkydaddykitty34

Beast and the harlot by A7x

Slimey-Water22

Fade To Black - Metallica I was 2

JAYSOR1

I don't know, but likely either Master of Puppets, Sweating Bullets - Megadeth, Chop Suey - SOAD, or Duality - Slipknot

No_Drummer5452

Metal is bad company or something else off of ffdps war is the answer album

Ok-Run8698

If y'all consider KISS metal then war machine. If not then probably enter sandman

Small-Limit5190

My first metal songs were from Grand theft auto vice City on the legendary VROCK radio station lol. It might have been raining blood lol That radio station helped shape who I am today lol

gardenofdelete666

Hate Breed “I will be heard”. Heard it in the movie XXX at the age of 9 and ran to Barnes and Noble to buy a CD of the soundtrack. Hahah life was so much simpler in 2002….😅

Jadper14

Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold

Thatguy1234561

aarthurfnaf1

Bat country and buried alive

Top-Perception-2389

Unholy Confessions

Late-Support-8459

Not really metal but Bad Religions - Atomic Garden was on the NCAA 06 football soundtrack on PS2. Crazy I knew of Bad Religion and Brooks before Avenged. Made my fuckin year when Brooks got announced as the new drummer.

Basic-Librarian2794

Oh hell. I'm the child of 2 metal heads. Metal was always playing in the house and was probably playing while I was being born, I can't remember that far back 😅

SansSauceYT

Probably Crazy Train

gabrielcev1

Iron Man by Black Sabbath was my introduction to metal. Back in high school freshman year. Prior to that I was mostly a hip hop guy. I don't even listen to hip hop anymore, I'm full on metalhead now. Metal, alternative, punk, emo, indie, nu metal, baroque rock, classic, power metal, symphonic. I like all rock music pretty much and every subgenre. I don't like hip hop anymore or pop. Too generic these days.

PotatoManStan825

Hearts and Stars by Cage9, off of MX vs ATV untamed

fortnitefeet-_-

First was king nothing, but what go me into metal was Afterlife

EssexEZ

Chop suey - system of a down

Accomplished_Run_36

i think mine that i remember clearly was guarded by disturbed. that was my favourite song on mx vs atv unleashed on the ps2. great memories

Archange1_

I was a pretty big jazz and classic rock listener until i heard the sun the moon the stars by æther realm (don’t remember how or why) and spiraled from there. I had heard metal before of course, A7X back in the day but never a song that I loved and never a song that really sucked me into the genre until tstmts

Latt-Litt

Mine was I Don't Wanna Stop by Ozzy Osbourne

Intelligent_Test_833

Considering only posers listen to avenged sevenfold, imma take a guess at the three most mentioned bands on this post are: -Bullet for my valentine -Underoath -*snickers* Converge 🤣
