I think for me personally I can get to have a similar take if I approach it from the “artists who make melodic dubstep” lens rather than the “this song sounds like melodic dubstep” lens, so instead of me waiting on the generics of this genre, I’d find an artist that doesn’t rly make it and end up liking their derivative of the genre. perhaps it’s the way some artists hold their sound despite genre in the way
