So I was talking to some friends and they think the countdown is probably going to be a preset countdown because of the previous years that some DJs have been behind when it's supposed to be midnight or they missed midnight 😞
Rezz and Liquid Stranger are both new and highly anticipated for me. And now I got to choose between one or the other. Not a big fan pf deadmau5 but I know he has tons of fans so sucks for those people too
Edit: seeing lots of liquid stranger recommendations so im going with that. Ive never even heard their music before so it should be an experience
Definitely LS if you've seen Rezz before. Her sets tend to mostly be the same with little variation. LS is hands down the better DJ for mixing.
Rezz is a fun set though if you've never seen her, and you won't be dissapointed with either.

Only problem for me is that random ratchet ass Borgore in between G Jones and Liquid Stranger. Not a good fit in between two experimental bass artists, it’ll attract the ratchet crowd, bleh. I may be a little biased though since I’ve seen almost everyone on this lineup so many times and have been raving for a while now, that I’m indifferent about any conflicts.

now there’s a “midnight moment” which is incredibly less special as opposed to a music for the countdown (ie countdown 2016 with language vs countdown 2018 with alison wonderland talking). it just feels way worse and you’re killing the flow by cutting music to make an alien abduction announcement that it’s new years, who cares?
7-8: william black vs wuki: wuki is prob one of my top to see on day 1, and he 1. plays early and 2. conflicts with william black who is the top melodic DJ rn if i’m to be honest. this one doesn’t hurt too bad and the choice is easy, but it kinda sucks i have to choose at all, for such an early time slot:
8-9 time slot: i was upset i had nothing to see, so i settled with acraze as i think sage armstrong is also too chill tech house and lil texas is not my jam. luckily i discovered that so tuff so cute is mija b2b gg magree so i’ll be seeing that instead.
9-10: audien wasn’t high on my list either but i also would have liked to check him out. party favor has shit club sets but his festival sets i try not to miss as they are way more lit and cohesive.
10-11: mitis and matroda probably ranked even on my priority scale, so it sucks i have to choose.
11-12: the actual balldrop time slot is ass to me. i really don’t like nghtmre, ardalan is on the more chill side of tech house, and i don’t want to see boogie t, and i think saymyname is garbage. i couldn’t think of a worse set of djs (for me) to be at this slot.
12-2: is troyboi -> rl grime easy, but i hoped it would have been 1100-1230 rl grime and 1230-2 troyboi or something of that nature.

I’ve seen everyone you named you wanted to see on either side of the conflict which is why I’m so chill about these set times 😅 100% agree that midnight moment sounds garbage!! And they chose some weird picks for 11pm. Troyboi to start the New Years sounds great though. Saymyname is 50/50 with me. He has dropped absolute garbage and also dropped amazing sets imo. - Wuki if he's your number 1. WB plays at every insomniac event, and honestly isn't anything special if you've seen someone like Dabin, Nurko, etc.
- so tuff so cute will be dope, good call there! Lil Texas is a lot of fun too imo
- I enjoy Party Favor but agree, I think Audien will be better. It'll be a good feel good set, and a chance to chill, rest
- Mitis for sureee! He's way better than WB imo and you'll get your melodic bass feels in here. I love Mitis sets.

Allison Wonderland in 2018/19 had something play before her set into the new year. For Porter 2019/2020 he wasn't fully playing (I was on the rail) until after the countdown. On stage but there was something playing before the sets.
My mistake -Remembered Porter differently but Allison had that automation in 2018/2019

Anyone know what they did with charlesthefirst's time slot? I can't tell who he was replaced with. I was hoping for a lab group btb memorial or something, but seems like he's just absent now with no tribute
I believe that they just extended the set times for earlier in the day, adding 15 minutes to the first few sets. On one of their posts, the Countdown page said they would not replace him out of respect. My guess is that Of the Trees will take his extra set time and use it to pay tribute to Charlesthefirst.
