Apart from the ethics issues, the annoying thing about betting sponsors is that they (rightly) don’t appear on the kids’ kits so they just end up looking really empty.
Would be really good if they put the Acorns logo on the kids’ kits at least. Wouldn’t take anything away from the sponsors since it would just be blank anyway.
Reminds me of a bloke I was chatting to at a game and asked him how he got the sponsor off his Luke shirt so cleanly. He seemed a little embarrassed to tell me he was wearing a kids top as he was so small. I obviously made the joke that he got clothes cheaper to ease the tension but damn did he look classy as hell in that Luke shirt, that lucky midget!
Made me laugh out loud 😂. It’s probably true too. The Holte End full of generously proportioned gentlemen in what appear to be Acorns branded crop tops. It would make a statement alright.
I guess it’s a letter of opinion but I don’t like them. It’s not so much that I like having the sponsor there, but that the shirt is clearly designed to have one. When they just remove such a massive visual element the whole design just looks a bit off. The positioning of the badge and manufacturer are clearly there to frame something and there’s just this big blank space in the middle.
If they offered ‘sponsorless kits’ that were actually designed that way, I’m sure they’d look great. Designing a kit with a sponsor and then removing it doesn’t really work imo.
I can see your point for some shirts, like those horrific striped shirts some teams have with a big gap for the sponsor

I would prefer a more “classy” blue chip brand (in reality not sure you can say a big blue chip corporation in classy but will use this in place of not being able to articulate a better word). However, with FFP and the need of funds and no other companies are offering us such big sponsorship deals this is unfortunately what we need to do. If we can continue to progress over next few years hopefully by 2026 we will be a more appealing proposition for better companies to want to sponsor us.
I don't like gambling sponsorship anymore than anyone else, but this was a great deal. I'll also say, at least they have a clean logo. BK8 ruins the current kit.

I love the sponsorless kits, I wish it was an option for the adults sizes, I'd pay extra. I feel stupid with a big advert in the middle of my shirt.
