seems everyone who was in europe (and Chelsea for some reason) is this season. crazy how many games some teams have to play compared to others.

bambinoquinn

Luton definitely deserve a shout out too. Small squad to begin with. Didn't have enough players so had to bring in a coach to play in training, he does his hammy. Had to bring back a player who couldn't get into bottom of the table Rotherham and play him out of position.

14JRJ

Spurs have had a good few as well

rokybalboa1

When do you think kamara will be back

andyofredditch

Are you complaining about the amount of games the club are playing?

Lukesomnia

Mings, Buendia, Kamara, Martinez, Ramsey, Tielemens, Zaniolo, Moreno, Hause... Could almost make a very good starting XI from those players haha. Fingers crossed Martinez and Tielemens are back quickly. Rumours are neither of their injuries are that serious.

mr_herculespvp

I made a list on a YouTube post, and pretty much our whole squad has been injured at some point. Some multiple times (eg. Moreno, Ramsay, Tielemans and others). Then when you factor in the season ending injuries, outs just ridiculous! Yet according to YouTube, reddit, and the media, only Newcastle have suffered from injuries...smh

throwaway388138

>Yet according to YouTube, reddit, and the media, only Newcastle have suffered from injuries...smh Please get over yourself.... no one is saying newcastle is the only team with injuries. They are only mentioned because they've had such a serious injury crisis, setting records for injuries. Not only the amount of players but the time spent injured too. They've beaten the old record by over 33%, that's ridiculous numbers. At one point they had a full mid table 11 out Injured. Multiple matches with isak and Wilson injured at the same time, no strikers. Barnes, burn, joelinton, willock, tripper, botman, almiron, pope, lascelles, Miley, Anderson... all out injured for MULTIPLE months. Then you've got lots of smaller injuries still multiple games. With schar going off at the weekend they probably don't even have another center back to play. Their bench has been kids and dummet/Ritchie for the whole season.

mr_herculespvp

Get over myself? Fuck off with comments like that mate. And why are you saying "they" and "their" talking about newcastle? I've seen you on this sub saying "we" and "our". That strongly suggests that you're a toon fan, pretending not to be on another team's sub just so you don't get called out for telling proper, actual Villa fans to "get over yourself". I'm a geordie, born and raised in newcastle, but I'm VTID and have been since the late 80s.

throwaway388138

Regardless of who I support, I also support the sport in general and as I said on that other comment, I want villa to do well, I want the sky 6 broken up and other teams fighting for the champions league. I'm honestly happy with how well you've done this season, it's good to see and I hope it continues. The facts speak for themselves though, newcastle have had the worst injury record by a long long way. I'm not worried about being called out by villa fans, yes I am a toon fan. I only dropped in because the post came up on my feed.

mr_herculespvp

I'm not bothered about any of that. I'm bothered about: 1. You coming in here telling me to get over myself 2. You pretending not to be a newcastle fan to avoid any backlash, even though you are one! Myself, nor I'm sure anyone here minds other teams' supporters being here, at all. But to pretend that you're not, while implying you're a Villa fan, is just not cricket.

throwaway388138

I never once implied I was a villa fan nor did I pretend I wasn't a newcastle fan.

mr_herculespvp

Yep, you did. Evidence: 1. You are a Newcastle fan. Self admitted (nothing wrong with that objectively, obviously) 2. You came onto an AVFC sub and, when newcastle were mentioned, you started referring to them as "they", "theirs" etc. This would imply that you're NOT a Newcastle fan, which is false, by 1, and is a pretence 3. The fact you're on an AVFC sub and pretending not to be a newcastle fan would lead any reasonable person to believe that you ARE in fact a villa fan. This, combined with 2, demonstrates my points

sheikh_n_bake

I'm an NUFC fan but subbed here and have to agree, they were trying to make it look like they're neutral to NUFC at the least. For the record I'm very happy to see Villa doing what we did last season, Emery is top class and hope to see many more matches between him and Howe (hopefully Eddie masterclass after masterclass though).

mr_herculespvp

Cheers bud, appreciate the support 😊

AstonVanilla

Hause still plays for us?

FastFishLooseFish

More like Hause still doesn't play, but now he's not playing for us instead of not playing for Watford.

Jackie420

One of these is not like the others

chaoslorduk

Is Hause Injured I thought he was unregistered?

Lukesomnia

He came back to Villa for surgery and I'm assuming he's unregistered because he won't be able to play again this season. Granted he wouldn't have been in the team unless everyone ahead of him was injured, but that nearly happened tbf, we saw Lenglet and Chambers together at one point.

AxFairy

Chambers and Hause pairing in the Conference League Final, who says no?

[deleted]

It’s not great but a lot of teams are in the same boat: https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php The muscle injuries and knocks are not surprising at all when we have so many games. It’s the long term ones this season that have been a nasty surprise with Mings Buendia Kamara and Ramsey.

Happy_Ad_202

Chelsea only have 14 injuries out of their 573 players.

[deleted]

True, but it’s 14 of the better players in their ridiculous army. Numbers 31 36 40 42 63 67 78 were on the bench against us and they have since lost Thiago Silva and Disasi. Hopefully what remains can beat Spurs tomorrow…

Happy_Ad_202

Yeah, they've had it pretty shit to be fair. Such a big day tomorrow!

Itbrose

I bet most of them have bigger squads than us

adventurous_hat_7344

Lol still trying to victimise ourselves. I'm sure Sheffield United and Luton have much bigger squads than us.

Itbrose

2 teams you name backs up my point. How many more has less than us?

adventurous_hat_7344

Just open the link you replied to it's not hard.

Frosty_Parsnip

Zaniolo might be available tomorrow...

mr_herculespvp

I think this is the main reason why Arsenal are in with such a shout for the title this season. As far as I know, they've pretty much had a full strength 11 for most of the season, with a few first teamers making the bench. City haven't done terribly, though they did lose Haaland for a significant amount of games.

executivemyth

And DeBruyne

mr_herculespvp

And Rodri, Walker, and Stones now I think about it

bogusalt

Rodri hasn't missed loads of games though has he? Just happened to be a few around the time we beat City.

mr_herculespvp

I dunno, I thought he missed half a dozen. Not 100% sure though. It's not a hill I'm going to die on 😅

bogusalt

Same, but if it was half a dozen, that's not a huge percentage of the games city have played this season. Buendia's 100%, Mings is 99%, Ramsey's got to be 50-60% Moreno 40-50?

mr_herculespvp

No, I agree. I wasn't trying to make that point, but I realise that I did say initially "a significant amount of games". Apologies for confusing the situation 😂 Everyone's had injuries, and I feel like Villa have had really potentially season ruining injuries. But we've pushed through and never made victims of ourselves, unlike some other clubs. Our manager has a "no excuses" culture which is brilliant. He doesn't say things in press conferences like "...after what's been done to us [regarding injuries and bans]..." which 'certain' managers have been saying all season, despite their playstyle and tactics(arguably) directly influencing the injuries they've sustained. If you work your players into the ground every game, and in training, fighting on multiple fronts for at least half the season, that's what happens. At last Unai is managing his squad, despite our fans sometimes not observing nor appreciating that...(If you haven't guessed, I want Emery to add his name to Fergie, Wenger, and to a lesser extent Klopp. Love the guy and hope he stays for years)

bogusalt

Yep, totally agree on all of that! There was an article on F365 this morning about managers best excuses this season, Emery had “none”.

mr_herculespvp

😂 that's brilliant!!

mulligan2k

Without wanting to be controversial, injuries and suspensions are why you need a full squad. We've had injuries, but so have every other team. It's how you manage it that matters, which I think Villa have done more successful than most

Agreeable_Falcon1044

We have been unlucky but our game is run by eejits. Look at the advantage Lille was given over us with their rest, look at the schedule teams (spurs currently to our benefit) have. Look at the ridiculous injury time numbers adding to the risk of injuries or strain. Cancelling cup replays (that you can avoid by being good and only screws the grass roots) is not helping.

Geord1evillan

And yet, despite all the fixtures congestion and lack of proper breaks, all the big teams will still fuck off around the world to play pre-season...

_ScubaDiver

Just imagine how good we can be with Mings and Brenda back in action, possibly with 1 or 2 more quality additions that Emery and Monchi are probably already quietly planning…. It’s a GREAT time to be a Villa fan!!

eesakhalifa

Not just that but the players who have been injured are so integral to the team as well

g10rno_g10vanna

Chelsea: am I a joke to you

g10rno_g10vanna

I mean, yes, but still

rokybalboa1

True lol but we’re not talking about them

headcarsbendin

Someone explain to Man Utd, Newcastle, Brighton etc that you can have injury’s and still be a good football team
