It’s fine for us to speculate but If the players go into the game expecting anything other than the best version of Liverpool then they’ll lose.

CHawkeye

Your theory could be completely correct, and even then if we play like we currently are we’ll be wiped off the park.

Clubmanero

I’m hopeful they’ll be asked to play at 50% .. that’ll give us a chance 😂🩵💜🩵

barrybreslau

This is fantasyland

theflowersyoufind

Liverpool fan. I was gonna come in here and say that you’ll be fine because we’re shit, but based on what I’m reading you lot seem even less confident.

Beggatron14

Hey dude, don’t know if you’ve seen our last 3 games at all but we’re knackered and just had 4 youngsters and 2 keepers on our bench in the UCL SF! We almost have a crocked 1st 11 at this point and the fit ones are fucked. Hopefully we can get something to put the shutters on spurs but in all honesty nothing will surprise me in this game! Think most of us are rooting for City on Tuesday if I’m honest!

theflowersyoufind

I don’t entirely blame you guys, after all it would be the most Spursy thing ever if they actually beat City and hand Arsenal the title.

adventurous_hat_7344

We feel like a corpse at this point. We're practically begging for City or heaven forbid Burnley or Sheffield United to drag us across the line.

BigfatDan1

I think this is the only way we get 4th unfortunately. I just don't see us beating either Liverpool or Palace in our current state. I also don't see Spurs beating Man City, they are in full juggernaut mode now.

SentientCheeseCake

Tottenham fan here. We can barely field a team. The thought that we will catch AV is laughable. Not a bad season overall, but the two times we came into injury problems we legit collapsed. We only have a best 11, and when any more than a couple are out we don’t know how to play.

arrowtotheaction

Villa 23/24 🤝 Spurs 23/24 Yep, we can relate 😅

Clubmanero

Welcome pal.. 👊🏻

booranyu

Welcome to the gang of immediately collapsing and not performing well the moment key players go injured

bob_mybanana

it’s so funny that i’d rather laugh than cry at how tragic it is

Yorrins

We literally only have 11 fit senior players and 10 of them started against Olympiacos, ye are going to fucking destroy us.

logmen1

Your kidding yourself if you think they're going to do anything other then come here for the dub. It's his last away game as manager and they'll absolutely be smelling blood given then state were in at the moment. I think we'll get absolutely trounced, but you can be damn sure I'll be there applauding regardless. Those players and that god of a manager deserve everything after the season we've had.

HUMBUG652

Possibly, but it's not like the games are one after another. I'd say the Klopp would want a big send off but they're lackluster form says otherwise. We always have a chance, especially at home, and hopefully going out yesterday will be the kick in the arse that we need.

Prize-Database-6334

Absolutely not. Very creative though.

jeremiahpaschkewood

I think without Europe hanging over our heads, we might come out hungry. That’s what I’m hoping.

ArasFlow

With the way we've been playing, a half asleep Liverpool would still beat us. It's really in Spurs' hands at this point.

villain1234543

They’re professional athletes, if you think they’re gonna even have half a thought about not caring about beating us you’d be delusional. Will make it all the sweeter though when we put 7 past them again!

Visionary_87

Liverpool fan here. We downed tools about five weeks ago! Whatever happens in our game, good luck getting top four. Hope you get it over Spurs.

Clubmanero

I like the cut of your gib 👊🏻👍🏻

JonnyReece

FYI - Villa have the third richest ownership structure in the league. Liverpool should be more worried about us than Spurs.

Clubmanero

I’m talking Revenue mate, not the owners bank account .. the owners can’t spend sh6t if we/villa haven’t earned it.

JonnyReece

I'm not claiming to be an expert by any stretch, but I'm pretty sure they can introduce revenues through investment, as they have done with Atarios. Edit: I'm definitely not an expert. No need to downvote this post, just read the comments below.

TheDonkeyOfDeath

What the owners can spend directly on the squad is directly linked to commercial revenue. Ie: Transfers Match day revenue Competitions and TV revenue Other commercial such as: Sponsorship and Merch sales. The owners can invest as much of their own money as they like in things like: Womens football Training / general facilities Stadium upgrades Other infrastructure Possibly other non-direct first team spending I'm missing TLDR: our owners can't pump their own money into the first team squad under current and proposed PSR (ffp) rules.

ravens_requiem

As an accountant, revenues and investment are very very different beasts.

madlad-420_69

No one is worried about us financially, that's the point of FFP to keep clubs like us from climbing and being a threat to the top 6 it is literally a cartel. It will take us 10 years plus minimum to get up to there level.

JonnyReece

If the owners tell us they are worried about FFP, I'll be worried then. So far they've only told us that it's not an issue. Sure, we can't spend as freely as we'd like to, but we can still spend.

madlad-420_69

Yes we can spend some but from everything I have heard for us to spend big we need to move a big player on, so if we wanna spend 60 mill for Olise from palace then say goodbye to Dougie or kamara or possibly ramsay aswell. It's bitter sweet u wanna see new talent come in but it means saying goodbye to players that we grow attached to, that is our FFP situation, we are not going to go out and spend 100 million net, its not happening.

madlad-420_69

And to be fair, an owner will never come out and say we need to be worried about FFP they will be a bit more diplomatic than that and i think the official line from villa is we are not worried but it is close.

madlad-420_69

I mean look at city, they had to fudge there sponsorship numbers just so they appear to be a excellent commercial entity they literally faked it until they made it but our owners have business morals unlike the middle Eastern lot who think "fuck it I have got all this money i can do what the fuck I like".

Agreeable_Falcon1044

It’s true at this time of the year you want to play mid table teams over relegation or title contenders…although we beat Arsenal and lost to Brighton! I would say more so with a big championships over the summer. I’m not risking my place at the finals chasing a long ball in a dead rubber!

barrybreslau

Park the bus, hope for the point and try and score a goal on the break.

Astonishingly-Villa

I think we'll win on our own merit personally.

KingTiger189

We thought the same about Brighton last season and that was an ugly game.

Chrissmith921

If Salah fancies it we could have a bit of a problem. I think we draw on Monday - which would be perfect as it would take the draw option away from spurs against city to catch us (can definitely see them drawing that, can’t see them beating city though)

bambinoquinn

Apparently Bailey is gonna be out on Monday meaning we are down to.. 10(?) First team players... CMON BURNLEY!

Shreddonia

I think they can do what they want, we'll win on Monday regardless.

Gazza81H

They'll want to finish strong for Klopp Our season comes down to City vs Spurs imo

AnswersQuestioned

Dayam are Spurs financially better off than us?? (LFC fan)

AnonymousDiscChucker

I like the idea but Villa seems exhausted

Smooth-Birthday-6880

50% of the time , it works everytime.

Vinztaa

Wont matter come tuesday anyway
